I only hope so that's 200k a year saved it will be interesting to see if he spouts off if he keeps quiet he must have had his contract paid up the more I think about things the amount of secrecy surrounding things whyte must be blue pitch and other margareta between macoist and the whole sorry scenario I really think everthing is going to turn into a lost cause if dave king puts there backs to the wall they will do anything to get there money back with profit all rangers assets will go I know I have moaned and groaned about about doom and gloom merchants but the longer it goes on the worst it gets

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 At last your head pops out the sand. Now try and keep it out. I'm sure all the doom and gloom merchants will be accept your post as an apology for your past delusions. Welcome to reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

I prefer the term realist rather than doom and gloomist. Anyway, no Hard feelings lbj d, just nice to see some are begining to awaken from this lengthy hibernation. about time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am arealist that's why I say if dave king backs them into a corner where they can't sell shares they hold security over all the assets for what ever amount they claim they are owed the will sell the lot no more ibrox murray park anything because that's what will happen if season book money is held off them

Agree0 Disagree0

Never said you weren't mate. Just glad to see you're now open to the idea that concern for the future is not just doom and gloom for the sake of it. You may have noticed a post from me last week where I stated I don't have any particular rason to trust King either. I think his past is at the very least questionable. I'm certainly not ready to 'jump into bed' with him so to speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

King wants club for nowt along with park and co as I have said the season ticket books withheld takes us to edge of the abyss the only way to get rid of them is buy there shares for real money not 20p a share when they trade at 30p someone needs to organise all the fan support to pay £25/ month whic would be affordable to most people

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear I trust dave king a million percent more than I trust the people running our club the current crew are only involved for the money they can swindle out the side door dave king would look to make money but he would not be as desperate as the current bandaleros we know he supports the team this crew had to use sat nav to find ibrox

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough tnwnn. Not here to convince anyone otherwise. We're all entitled to an opinion. I'm just a bit wary given how long we've been lied to (including SDM) and Mr Kings questionable financial past. Time will tell I suppose

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know what you think ed but if ally is still here next season a lot of fans will really start to dislike him as a person aswell.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - He is destroying his legend now, something I would have hoped he would have noticed, but those words about walking away ....... they have tied a noose around his neck, he is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt)

Don't sack him offer him a new job as PR manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the youth development officer. only joking get him as far away as possible from Ibrox or wherever we end up playing, the guy is the main reason we ended up with Charles Green robbing us blind

Agree0 Disagree0

Sweep1, I think the problems we have is the cost to remove him [plus his two sidekicks] and that Dave King, should he be successful, supports Ally.
Ed, do you know what the term of his contract is, at present?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Ally is on a rolling contract, to fire him he would have to be given "a years notice" or paid 1 years salary (probably full salary) unless a mutual consent package was thrashed out, his coaches/assistants I dont know about sorry)

12 Mar 2014 01:28:38
I have 2 workmates who finished night shift and went to queue at ibrox on tuesday morning for 4 hqs. They told me there were people in tents queuing.? It defies logic. For the ramsden cup.? Rangers should be playing the youth team and giving the tkts a way to st holders. Its just so so sad
tomblue

Agree0 Disagree0

If u read my post from other day it outlined how to get rid of himat an affordable rate

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2014 20:42:43
Why don't all the fans demand sally leaves, if not stop going to ibrox don't sit on your hands and watch that rubbish.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The moment you use childish names for ally no one will have an interest in your point of view.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP he ain't going anywhere. He will leave when he decides because we are a rudderless ship just now - and not just on the pitch so no one is going to fire him. The mutterings of discontent will need to grow a lot louder and even if Mosnhi's goal had been disallowed- who would sack him? The league will most likely be wrapped up tomorrow and Albion Rovers have the handicap of playing the replay two days after the Saturday league fixture which is a disgrace so a lot of fans will be more concerned with the Dundee United semi and less concerned about the garbage that is currently being served up.
Those of us who want change are not going to get it in the near future - sadly. IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

N1 we all know that the supporters of the grey and green hoops always refer to ally by this name

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2014 19:58:03
Now the dundee unitd supporters group have come out saying the semi final should be moved away from ibrox despite dundee united being entitled to 50% of the stadium. Why didn't they voice their concerns when the venues were announced? Why didn't they voice their concerns at the cup final being played at the stadium of the club who were favourites to win before their exit? Just more Rangers bashing. Personally I felt at the time both semis and finals should of been played at the neutral ground that is murrayfield.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it's more to do with the ridiculous boycot last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares what they think there views are irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly stewie

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2014 07:14:47
@2 and @3 Their views didn't seem so irrelevant a while back when everyone fell in line with Green like lemmings on the utterly stupid and ultimately humiliating boycott of tannadice. Their gripe here is simple and completely understandable imo, don't you think some of our fans would complain if the game was at tannadice? And don't give us some "we don't fear anyone" cr#p.

Agree0 Disagree0

They never said nowt earlier because they probably never thought they would reach the semis

Agree0 Disagree0

OMG Here we go again. do we ever seem to learn? Gaz, Stewie. tmwnn. Have you understood anything over the last 2 years?
They are right to moan about the venue another total "balls" up picking the venues before knowing who was to be playing who? . we definitely would be whinging if we had to play Celtic at Parkhead in a semi or final, in fact I would go onto say that, this would not happen because they wouldn't allow it to happen, The footballing authorities would change the venue because of the griping from fans as they don't like treading on their or our toes. Its an advantage that has never been acceptable before and should never be allowed to happen ever again as per their own rules and regulations. It is simple change venue to Parkhead keeps everyone happy and allows for sporting integrity and no benefits to either side.
They didn't moan until now because what was there to moan about until it happened???
Who cares what they think? is head in the sand stuff as per usual, time to grow up and start being part of Scottish Football and stop the them and us crap. got us no place previously and only alienates us further, wish we were like that with the people who have really ruined the club,, if we had been none this nonsense would be happening. Great to have been saying to sir murray Green Whyte etc. who cares ya big robbers. instead, we. do?

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 maybe you don't understand English so please read this slowly. Their views are irrelevant as it's already been decided where the semi final is being held and it's not going to change. Stop reading too much into statements and making an issue out of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Woo you can speak the queens english awesome, people no matter what you say are never irrelevant. Decisions can be changed fortunatly as can rules ie we got back into football so read this slowly. they have a right to talk and make opinions its called democracy. and stop thinking others are irrelevant its so condesending.

Agree0 Disagree0

They never complained when it was decided waywayway back so why complain now

Agree0 Disagree0

No pauline if it had been announced way back long long long time ago it was to be tannadice if we never complained on day of announcment we would have no right to complain now why did they not complain at the start

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 obviously you can't understand English at no point did I say people are irrelevant. I said their views were an entirely different thing.

s t v headline ally says everyone should step back and look at it radically he has no fears for his job how brassed necked is that if he was chocolate he would eat hiself when really he ias as much good as chocolate firegaurd

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He really is doing himself no favours not only is he putting loyal fans off him he's putting loyal off Rangers so are the board & the players it's an absolute shambles. I'd take Admin right now if it ment we could sort ourselves out.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm aware my above post sounds stupid but just as a hypothetical if that would get rid of the board the manager his staff and a few players. Then Cut costs & wages etc actually make the hard choices that have to be made Get the club back running on an even keel I could deal with it. In no way do I want Rangers to go into administration but no doubt about it our club needs a massive shake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally would be 1st man out of a job if we go into administration, we wouldn't need a 3rd rate manager on 425k a year in the dugout.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would hope so sweep & we don't need all those coaches either. That would be if we got decent administrators in this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am afraid 425k is no where near its 850 k he did not take a pay cut he took a deferment I have sitting hear boiling up scince I listened to him on s t v I could to put it midly I could choke him and honestly why should we expect a team thta plays attractive football we have no laudrops gasciogne no no hately butch wilkins and the list goes on how can he stand and say such pure utter garbage and expect everyone to agree with him dundee utd aberdeen st johnstone they don't have players costing millions nor are there players earning 7k and more but they have managers that coach and come up with tactics that win games so why should supporters expect us to play decent football honestly this just about puts the the tin hat on it for me unless something happens to improve things I reckon this will be my last season ticket I wil may be go to certain gaames next season or if there is no difference I might not go at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally knows the board need him

I'm trying to put Rangers' plight into some sort of perspective, playing Devil's Advocate I suppose.

In July, we played 7 friendlies, winning 5 with a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday the only reverse and we played well. We've won 4 Ramsden's Cup ties without losing a goal on the way to the final.

We drew with Newcastle 1-1 in August in a friendly, but by all accounts a good performance then went on a 15-game League 1 winning streak until Stranraer drew at Ibrox. We won 3 Scottish Cup ties with no goals conceded until that Albion Rovers draw. Then there was the dreaded defeat in the League Cup to Forfar right at the start of the season.

So we've played 44 games including friendlies with only 2 losses. We won our first five League 1 matches 4-1, 3-0, 6-0, 5-0 & 5-1 so what has happened in recent weeks? Two draws in 4 matches against teams we should be beating easily. The goals from our strikers seem to have dried up and our defence isn't good. Daly has lost it, Laws isn't as good and Templeton inconsistent yet they are all experienced SPL players.

McCoist clearly is out of his depth even at this level. He had a great chance to play younger players like Mackay and McLeod (admit latter is injured) but persists with Black, Faure, Cribari, Foster, etc.

I say let's win the league, see what happens in the two cups and give Dave King time to get his feet in the door and sort out the boardroom mess but McCoist must go in the summer. Hopefully with a new regime and funding in place we can get a really good manager in, give the good kids a chance and shed the deadwood. We could then pick up a couple of experienced pros to bolster the team.

Comments awaited Bears!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@ op, much as i'd love it to happen, I don't think it will. the bottom line is we cannot afford to pay off mccoist and his backroom team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay him off with all coaching team bring in manager and assistant only saving one wage get rid of some players don't replace them all keep paying macoistd and his coaches until deal struck there wages will be included in next years budget anyway I ommited to sat new manager brought in on realistic wage (when u consider lennon only on 7k aweek)less than half ally so in my eyes its possible considering is on rolling 1 year deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I was also reading today that black says going through the season unbeaten is our aim so can't see ally playing more than one youngster a game once the league is won I know it would be good to go season without defeat but ide like to see a bit of class in our games something we were doing up until october

I 'WAS' a person who stood behind ally. I grew up watching him and he has given me many many great memories and I thank him for that. However I have finally changed my mind. Its taken awhile through blinkered glasses but I have to accept the facts, I think that is the reason many of us still stick up for him, he isn't just joe bloggs he is Ally McCost. However he needs to leave, he has won 2 leagues, got us to a cup final. On paper it will be a good record. But his time is up and I hope fans remember him for his playing days more than anything else.
As to the idea of a new manager and some people saying no one would join the club as it is just now. I have to referrer you to Allys wages. On that type of money we would have huge pulling power. We have a good squad, bar a few hangers on, who just need managed better. I think its the ideal job for a young up and coming manager. 'if' the club was to fall apart again. It wouldn't be a mark on his record and he would be able to walk into a new job.
Also, Ally when you do leave us, please please get yourself back on Question of Sport.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I admire your honesty OP, and your ability to still retain some sort of affection for Ally.
Just two points I'd like to make from your post
1) I'd like to think that if someone new comes in it won't be on such a ridiculously high wage. We simply cannot sustain that sort of spending and the amount is wholly unjustified in my opinion.
2) I cannot see Ally getting another managers job after leaving us. All he has proved himself to be is a cheque book manager and the clubs that have money to spend wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Managing at this level cannot rely on money as there is none. The only reason he's got away with it so far is because we've let him.

Baybear

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you class Ally as a cheque book manager when he has been unable to buy a player in nearly two years granted players like Cribari are under par but they were brought in at last minute to try and fling a team together and since then we have only signed freebies and he has builtba good squad base we have a class keeper the best left back in Scotland. Moshni. Is a decent centre half just needs a partner macleoud is fantastic law is decent Templeton has skills and is young Daly is a quality target man. I think we should so the loyalty to mccoist that he has shown to us and see what he does with some funds and when he is back in the premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Some folk make me laugh)

Agbroxi. seriously?! Have a wee think about it mate. It's not just about spending money on a fee. There are other factors such as massive wages for players a decent manager wouldn't even need. Have a look at the rest of the teams in every division bar Celtic and tell me who's paying the same as we are? Do you think the players Ally brought in came for the ambition of playing Albion Rovers etc? I reckon being paid 4, 5, 6k per week to compete against part timers on £40 might have had something to do with their loyalty don't you? As for staying loyal to Ally if you're serious about that there really is no hope. I'll leave you to mull that over yourself mate. Maybe you'll have a wee epiphany.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agbroxi, your at the wind up, right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agribox u are another that was put tosleep during nine in a row and brought at hogmanay and have been blotto scince sober up and smell the cofee

Agree0 Disagree0

We only need to see what our ex premier league players were getting paid before they came to ibrox to see why they jumped at chance to play for rangers fc

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh I say poster 2 can we assist? Perhaps if you list the other symptoms?

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 if rangers had no money to spend do you think ally would have got us out of the 4th division using the now under 20eez do you think he would have got them playing the way good has them playing now

Agree0 Disagree0

Here is a Question for my fellow Bears to answer can anyone answer me? how come Barrie MacKay is still out on loan? when we don't have many decent football players at the club. I think McCoist must be the only person in scotland who would pick Aird before MacKay, the guy is clueless

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree black is awful. At the start of the season when we were scoring for fun Nicky Law and Lewis McCleod ran the show. McCleod would hold the midfield and Law would get forward. With Black in the team Law looks lost because Black wants to be the man controling the centre of the park. I think Ally need to drop Black and make peralta the holding man and let Law have the space to build the play. Although he is a hero McCulloch should be left out for Gasparotto we need pace at the back, when Albion came forward at the weekend nobody went for a tackle the defenders looked scared and confussed as to what to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

By all means try the young lad a chance but maculloch should not be discarded remember we operated sucessfully with davie weir who was also slow

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed McKay far superior to Aird. McKay can beat players and can put in decent crosses. Aird hardly beats a player and on the odd occasion he does there is no end product. Feel sorry for McKay as I thought he would play regularly this year. As for Aird if Canada want him then let them have him

Agree0 Disagree0

N1 totally agree mate n2 davie weir was class read the game as good as any megga star so I don't see how anybody could compare him to lee mcculloch

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 ime not having a go at big lee as I really appreciate all he has done for rangers fc

Since the day Ian black for rangers I've always disliked him in blue, but after his performance on Sunday and comments made in paper today I've lost any respect I had for him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The guy is an absolute disgrace in my opinion. He should have never been anywhere near a Rangers jersey in the first place. The last time I felt this against a signing was the day we signed Diouf. Another who demonstrated how low our standards and morals had dropped.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ime sure black was back at the painting when we offered him a contract at ibrox so he could have been signed on 2 grand a week ime sure he would not get that kind of money working as a semi skilled worker
