Peter enkleman of st Johnstone is being looked at as a possible replacement for mcgregor.. who wants a fresh challenge!
=========================================

WTF?...MATE YOU ON CRACK?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

He is a awful keeper.Go see what he did in the Birmingham derby. There is plenty of better keepers around than him.

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats a bit harsh mate he made 1 mistake in the Birmingham derby years ago! Would be a good keeper for the Gers.. in saying that hope big shagger stays!

Begovic the Bosnian keeper if I remember correctly is actually a very good keeper but Allan McGregor is irreplaceable to me and he loves the club, he's been there his whole career and let's have him till the very end because he is undisputed one of the top goalkeepers in europe.

All seems to have gone quiet on Dorrans, does anyone know if this is still a possibility.

{Ed010's Note -I would suggest that any slight hope that Rangers had in signing Dorrans, has totally went out the windows due to Liverpool paying £22m for Jordan Henderson. By paying that amount for Henderson, Liverpool have basically raised the transfer fee for every other player, who is under contract, in the EPL. Just my opinion though.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I agree totally, think 22 mil is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for henderson. Seems like young players only need to have 1 really good season and everyone goes mental! He's only got 1 cap for engurland. not disputing he's a good player but he's still young. Too much pressure

Anyone, if Hemed wasn't available on a free, how much dyu reckon he'd be worth?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

1.5 million , maccabi haifa rated him 2.5 to

2-3 i'd reckon

ma starting XI next season

McGregor

Whittaker(signs a deal) Cuellar Bartley Papac

Naisy Mculloch Davis Danns Estigarribia

Jelavic

Thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable8

If you watched the last few games of the season you would of seen how good we were with two upfront. Ally him self said he will be more attacking.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think your half right it will be

McGregor

Whittaker / Cuellar / Bartley / Papac

Naismith / Davis / Edu / Wylde

Jelavic / Goodwillie or Hemed

Of course this will change depending on who else we are interested in lol

We should stick with a 4-4-2, we don't really have any excuses not to play more attacking now, especially the way Jelavic played at the end of last season

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jun 2011 20:32:39
anybody think that it wouldnt be bad thing for mccgregor to leave? we would get about 6-10 mill! and wud allready have a fantastic replacement in alexander! means we would defo have an awsum outfield team for the coming season we that money to play with!

{Ed010's Note -I can understand your thought process regarding the selling of Allan McGregor to furnish Ally with more transfer funds but in my opinion, we should not be selling any of our players, unless there is a better quality player being lined up to replace them. While Neil Alexander is an able replacement, I would suggest that Allan McGregor is the better keeper and as such, Ally should be trying to tie him down to a long term contract instead of selling him.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

What about punting him.And making a checky bid of say £3 million for Craig Gordon if he is over the injury troubles? They just signed Westwood from Coventry. So he might not be in there plans. And spend the rest on another quality markey signing?Say a decent big name left Back?If we can attract one?If not buy Lee Wallace.Who is more than good enough. But buying Scottish costs more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy phil bardsleyyyy !

Agree2 Disagree3

Phil Bardsley would cost around 8-10mill because he is in the epl.

Since when did miller become king kenny get a grip his first touch was abysmal and for all his pace when did he ever knock the ball past a centre half and leave him for dead with his pace . Anybody who has a bit of ability should score 20 goals a season .
We don't want money grabber miller back or ferguson either

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Miller actually scored 20 goals in half a season, so i think he is quality, and still finished top scorer

Agree6 Disagree2

PISS AFF MILLER..AND TAKE BOUGGIE WI YOU...

Agree1 Disagree1

Gie Miller a break. He went because we offered him 1 year at half the wage! it's all relative. i mean, would you stay at your work if they told you they were halfing your wage when someone else was offering to treble it? Just looking after his familys intrests. I do agree that his first touch isnae great though and he bottles it in front of goal. Luckily, it doesn't put him off and he keeps working to get chances then sticks 1 in 4 away.

Agree2 Disagree0

Miller will never be king kenny for 2 reasons. 1 he's a very average striker. only player with a 1st touch worse than novo n 2nd, he played for celtic!
the tiger - never really liked miller

I would love to see Rangers buy some young british players who are full of potential but are being denied the change of braking through to the full team in the EPL.. players like jack cork or tom ince for example, these players would shine in the scottish game and Rangers could make a tidy profit when selling on in the future, Thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Why would rangers throw money away on young players like cork or ince? We have a gd few young talented players of our own.. What we need is experience

Agree2 Disagree0

It also depends on whether their current clubs would sell them at a reasonable, affordable price, but in principle i agree, it would be nice to see rangers invest in youth.

Agree0 Disagree1

We have Kyle Hutton and Jamie Ness and Greg Wylde. Why would we want to sign Englishmen, that are not good enough for there top flight? When we are bringing through our own, who are clearly a lot better than the ones you have muted.

Agree5 Disagree1

HEAR.HEAR..WE HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF YOUNG SCOTS COMING THRU..LETS FACE IT IF WILTSHIRE HAD HAVE BEEN A SCOT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE HEARD OF HIM..DARREN FLECTHER..BEST MIDFIELD IN THE EPL..IF HE HAD HAVE BEEN ENGLISH, , , , NEED I SAY ANYMORE?

Bout time Fletcher turned it on in a scotland jersey though.

I would just like to say that the people claiming that we are going to bring in tons of "big names" and a new squad basically are nummties!
true we do have money to spend (12m roughly) for a change, but we also need to take in their wages into perspective..
i reckon we will sign a big name defender, and a Midfielder. I dont think that we will keep on Davie Weir as it probably would have been done by now. Carlos Cueller looks likely to be that big name for defence, however, that will depend on the new villa boss. As for the for the midfielder im not too sure. names like gattuso, fings gibson etc have been coming up, but i dont see any of them happening. i think we will sign goodwille and hemed as we really only have Jelavic - and i dont rate lafferty myself (regardless of his perfomance towards the end of the season).
i do think that we will sign a few free bees and a couple of 500k-1m signings- and they will be used as squad players which we have been lacking the past couple of seasons.
Our team does consist of quality players, and i think with a couple of high quality and squad player additions we should have a stronger side than celtics, therefor 4 in a row aswell as a strong performance in europe ( with a larger squad this is more likely).

A realtisic Gers fan ;)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

What big names r u on aboiut? Barring berbatov.. I believe most of the players mentioned on here are well with in our budget.. Unless ur idea of a big name is benalluan or danns lol

Marcelo Estigarribia: when i lived in argentina a few years back, i often watched Estigarribia, he was a very well known player, hes a sort there naismith, hard working, but his goals tend to let him down, and he has a quite a dirty personal life, was never out or controversy side of football, dont know if hes quite the player id like to pull on a rangers jersey, personally and ability wise!

What do you guys think of this team??

mccgregor

whittiker wilson bartley papac

fings mcclulloch

davis

naismith lafferty

jelavic

a few bosmans, loans, and maybe a quality sighning added to this would be good enough for next year!!
also, swansea used this formation last year and i think it would suit us, we have dynamic players (whitteker, mcculoch, davis, naismith) and this would use that!!!

what do you guys think???

namba

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Mccolluch is the most "undynamic" player ever!! Lol

Agree0 Disagree3

I wouldn't have Wilson and Bartley, both good but no experience

We need another attacking mid in there n another strike partner for jelavic possibly hemed n id have cuellar at center half with bartly as wilson is a bit small.

My top targets for the summer would be (in no particular order) - Wallace, Kranjcar, Hutton, Cuellar, Wilson, Dos Santos, Frings, Hitzlesperger, Michael Johnson, Bartley. I realise we can't obviously sign all of the above however, god loves a trier!! Hope to god we don't re-sign Miller...mercenary!! Get shot of Whittaker...cost us so many goals and is too slow. Thinks he is Cafu!!! Starting Line Up -

McGregor

Hutton
Cuellar
Wilson
Wallace

Davis
Frings
Ness

Kranjcar
Jelavic
Dos Santos

Wishfull thinking, I kno but I can dream can't I!?

--------------------------------------------------
I agree with almost everything execpt Edu starting over Danns or Ness. No Hemed either even though it looks to be our first signing. Good list though. WATP
--------------------------------------------------
Ye good but why would we pay 2 million for wallace if he was going to sit on the bench and i also agree i think hemed or goodwille would be better than miller their younger and hemed is 6 foot tall so is a good presence to have with jelavic and we would get hemed for free instead of paying 400k for miller.

i really have to laugh when people comment about maxi morelaz height , its funny 2 rangers best stars were under 5ft5
cast back to klos the smallest goalkeeper , he wasa fan tastic keeper before his injurie , also nacho novo was tiny but still played best football and still a talent in fans eyes , ok he might not be the best at corners but he has wicked feet on him

Both were actually well over 5ft5 in fact was just short of 6ft at 5:11. The point is, a player who is 5:2 may struggle in the SPL. However Messi is small and strong but I doubt moralez is as good lol.

-----------------------------------------

i have to dissagree m8 no 1 could be as good as messi , but with the spl is a hard tacklin game i know , but you look at maxi he is strong as well he is good at playin the ball close to feet and good ball control

does height really matter so if rangers signed messi 2morro i know its not likely to happen in billions of years but if he signed iguess every rangers fan would turn on him cause his height , , , , dont think so,
thanks for your reply govan fr ,

, , , , , and to the tit about novo , why dont you look on you tube and see wat novo has done for us for a person who is site he has alot more assist and goal and yes he was a fan pleaser but fans dont cheer for any1 like he gave rangers 100%

18. Jelavic
22. Goodwillie
11. Lafferty
9. Miller

Any thoughts ed?

{Ed010's Note -I have and firstly it is nice to see so many Scots in your squad and how many of those are home grown talents. I know that the last 3 years have been difficult financially and have caused us Rangers fans, more than a few worries but I don't think that any of these players, would have appeared in your list, if it hadn't been for our troubles.

Your squad looks particularly strong but there is one area that I have a few concerns about and that is midfield. In my opinion, we need a ball winner, a player similar to Lassana Diarra (Real Madrid) and we need a player to compliment Steven Davis, a player who can see a pass and more importantly, manage to make it. Funnily enough, Charlie Adam is a player that comes to mind.

I have never heard Ally say that anywhere. In fact I have heard him say in interviews pre Kilmarnock games, talk about how dangerous he is.Eremenko is a class act.Would love to see him come.Take a look at his international scoring record, 17 goals from midfield. He has proved he can cut it in SPL.And has shown it for Finland. So why could he not transform that into the champions league? He is just the kind of of creative player we need. And he will not cost the earth to get him in.

i think whittaker should be sold and the money used i dont really rate him as a player

Clearly you are a Celtic fan or you watch a different Rangers to most others!!! Simply our most versatile player, who is extremely comfortable with the ball on either foot. He is at a great age of 26 with years ahead of him, we bought him for 2million , so there is no chance he will go for anything less, an extremely professional lad who is tee total and stays away from trouble!! and he has stated his only intent is to stay. So I ask you what Rangers are you watching and why exactly would you sell him?

Ofcourse Nacho wants a return he loves Rangers, he could do a job and shouldn't have left but I don't think he'll come back. Peter Leven MK Dons midfielder is Rangers daft and Eremenko would be a class signing. WATP.

Can i just say novo has said many of times and still does say , he wasnt the reason for leaving , 1 he was told he will not be offered a new contract by rangers chief , novo said its not the work of walter either it was murry and bain who tossed him , novo for me is a oyal plsayer only player i have seen in a long time who wears his heart on his sleive like ., he is passionate for the champs

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter Leven was never good enough for Kilmarnock, never mind Rangers. He is playing with that rubbish team for a reason.Rangers daft does not give you the ability to be good enough.Just a hunger in your heart to do well.

Celtic have a nicer kit. Lets have a Banterment!

That will be the same kit as last year and the year before and the year before that and so on! Funny thing is you mugs buy it... WATP

I suppose u think the rangers strip changes drastically every season??

You can distinguish between rangers strips season to season

Have you seen the pix of C*ltics new strip? Even the player looks depressed. Hideous. Too funny

Don't kid yourself on ya numpty! You can distinguish between plain blue every season haha! Every teams traditional strip hardly changes!

please let us all hope quellar will come back, other than Hutton hope he is, only ''old boy'' we get. Whatever happens please please please not Barry F, Murray made big error backing him before and he would probably think he is bigger than Ally if brought back.
