Typical with all the players we have been linked If I had to pick one player we can have out of the lot I'd pick Devante Cole Is it not possible to do a swap deal for Joe Dodoo plus £250,000 Get him in please

12 Jan 2018 01:26:17
Dodoo isn't going to want to go to fleetwood from rangers surely.

11 Jan 2018 20:26:15
Looking like we can't even sign a player that would play for nothing if this Naismith thing to Hearts is correct we ar really in a bad way.

11 Jan 2018 21:28:40
Maybe it’s because we don’t want him even for nothing?

11 Jan 2018 22:02:09
Murty might not want him, or the grief it might cause

11 Jan 2018 22:36:33
Or. maybe we just don't want him.

11 Jan 2018 22:40:27
Do you think Naismith is going to play for Hearts for free?

11 Jan 2018 23:12:35
Totally agree bongo. Why aren't we trying to sign him? He was a great versatile player previously when he was at Rangers and the thought of Hearts signing him over us makes me sick.

11 Jan 2018 23:22:14
What are you talking about? Nobody from Rangers and stated an interest in Naismith.

12 Jan 2018 01:21:22
Why? Because he's not good enough?

12 Jan 2018 03:06:05
C-Bear people said the same about Lafferty and look how wrong they were about him and now Top scorer at Hearts.

12 Jan 2018 03:59:38
Naismiths always injured now. he's no gny play fr free. He would end up on the sick bed getting a wage for free lol

12 Jan 2018 07:28:43
Hes not exactly playing for “free”. Norwich will still be paying 90% of his wage and the loan club will pay 10% but he's willing to lose the 10% so he's no exactly going to be out on the street

12 Jan 2018 14:49:27
Lafferty top scorer for hearts aye but still only 7th top scorer in the league! Imagine pumping hearts at Tyncastle with Naismith and lafferty playing haha get it right up us

11 Jan 2018 20:13:41
I noticed dodoo is back from his loan from charlton. Played twice and scored twice, also scored for the development squad today. I think there's a player in there although maybe him not going to Florida means that he isn't in murty's plans? Anyone else have an opinion on this young lad?

11 Jan 2018 20:26:23
Hope he gets another chance in the 1st team a rate him.

11 Jan 2018 20:36:25
He is a terrible player no were near good enough for are 25man main squad

11 Jan 2018 21:13:36
Think he actually played 8times for Chalton

12 Jan 2018 01:27:25
He needs to go back out on loan to a worse team to get guranteed game time

11 Jan 2018 20:05:44
I think it would be daft not to bring wee Naisy back! I like most of us never wanted him anywhere near us again after he left the way he did but I think we need to get real and forgive the wee man! These days there is no way we can afford someone of his quality and he knows what it’s all about! He knows what it takes to win trophies with rangers and to beat that shower! If what Murty is trying to do is get people in that know and understand the club then we shouldn’t cut our nose off to spite our face with Naismith, especially if he’s a free and doesn’t take a wage!

11 Jan 2018 20:37:00
I can't believe we haven't gone for him already tbh

11 Jan 2018 20:43:22
Not on a wind up here but that’s some deal you are talking about . A free transfer and no wages

11 Jan 2018 20:47:37
We all have our opinions on stevie naismith! Mines is quite clear! Don't want him remotely near glasgow rangers, ever again! He made his bed and sure as hell can lie in it! Let him sign for hearts! We should be looking forward, not back the way, especially to former players, who didn't do right by us, when we were in our hour of need! We looked after that character, through 2 serious cruciate injuries! He's got a short memory! Forget all about him is my strong opinion!

11 Jan 2018 22:16:03
Where are you getting that Naismith is available for free? He's got 18 month on his contract and Norwich have available on loan. Think his last first team game was in August, he's VERY injury prone and can't get a game in a poor Norwich side. He'd be a handy player to have but do we need another Niko?

11 Jan 2018 22:50:37
We need another to play with and give Morelos competition. Get Naisie in ASAP. He’s desperate to come back!

12 Jan 2018 14:29:13
Spot on supercooper

11 Jan 2018 20:01:16

11 Jan 2018 22:16:33
Free sport 830 tomorrow morning. will be recording it then. bt channel 95. its on freeview too dunno the channel

11 Jan 2018 19:36:43
I know naismith coming back divides bears opinions but with pena gone using his freed up wages on naismith a guy we know would do a job for us should be a no brainer. Especially when he seems desperate to come back but we instead of going for someone who we know is good enough and would score a barrel load we are looking at wee boys from Fleetwood and non league down south. Unbelievable

11 Jan 2018 19:59:02
Why waste money on players like Naismith who would have no sell on value when that money could be used to buy young talent from the likes of Fleetwood Town who we could develop and sell on for a decent profit? Honestly can't understand why some on here cream themselves over players who have had their time and their best days are well and truly behind them. Thankfully yous are not running the club as we would be in a much bigger mess than what we are in just now!

11 Jan 2018 20:02:48
i have concerns about his form and fitness but like you say mate no risk at all if he intends to play for free. has a decent level of experience to be good in the dressing room too. if it doesn't work out bin him in the summer and no lose at all. i'd like him back

11 Jan 2018 20:40:29
Think Naismith would be great playing in behind moralos

11 Jan 2018 20:57:55
I would say we'd be in even more a mess if you were running the club calvin55. Development squads don't win major trophies as you need a certain amount of experienced pros in order to develop younger players. The Fleetwood lad could end up being a Dembele or a Dodoo, whereas we know what we're getting with Naismith.

11 Jan 2018 22:21:07
Of course Naismith is desperate to come back. Why isn't any of the bottom sides in English premier league, or the decent sides in championship after him? He can't get a look in, at a poor Norwich side. Can't afford anymore hanger-ons.

11 Jan 2018 22:27:59
That's right, we would be getting an injury prone player who hasn't been in form for 2 years!

11 Jan 2018 22:36:21
Anybody who doesn't think Naismith would be a good signing either knows nothing about football or has a wee childish grudge. He's a smashing football player with a great attitude. And spare me the "he done the dirty on us crap".

11 Jan 2018 22:46:31
No we don't know what we are getting with Naismith. Yes he was a decent player for us 8 years ago! He is 32 this year and like I said has no sell on value which is no use to the club in the long term. We need to able to sell players on for a profit so we can eventually stop getting on soft loans. What is it you don't understand about we have little funds and what we do have has to be spent wisely?

11 Jan 2018 23:39:57
Calvin55 gets it

11 Jan 2018 23:41:23
Fully aware of his injury history but when fit Naismith would definitely score goals in Scotland so we do know what we'd be getting. He would be on loan initially offering to play for next to nothing, in hope of winning a pay as you play contract so wouldn't be a substantial outlay. Not every player we sign has to have sell on profit because as I have said we would end up with a development squad! Young players don't develop by getting humped every week they learn from older pros how to react in certain situations. For example Bruno's performances may have been below par but if he's improved all of the young defenders then he would still represent value. We do need to speculate on young players like Cole but the balance has to be right.

12 Jan 2018 01:25:22
If he is half as good as his dad we would be on to a winner . Andy Cole

12 Jan 2018 01:41:24
Totally agree . didn’t like the way he left us but I didn’t like the way kenny miller signed for them

Will he make our team better? . I think so anyway

I think if he goes to hearts he will do well and we will regret not signing him

Thoughts bears?

12 Jan 2018 07:48:08
Norwich are going to pay his FULL wages till the summer? Eh? They spent £8m on him in 2016 and is one of they're highest earners but because he wants to come back up to Scotland they'll do that?
IF we didn't have so many hangers-on, many on big wages Naismith might well be worth a punt. There's no way he'd play for nothing, that's just him sucking up to the fans. Sure Naismith could handle Scottish football, skill wise but what about physically?
Boy's like Hyndman on loan are better bets just now

12 Jan 2018 08:38:30
Who said anything about development squads? We need young players who we can bring on and make a profit on when we move them on. I'm not talking about 16, 17 year olds. I mean players who are in early 20s i. e Van Dijk's, Forter's, Dembele examples where we can also insert decent sell on clauses to ensure we are better off financially. Signing players like Naismith, Lafferty, Davis etc will not achieve this for us as they are past it now and won't have any sell on value. All we will do is waste what little funds we have and when these golden oldies leave after a year or two we will be back to square one still having little funds and getting by on soft loans because we can't get a transfer fee for our players. Also do you seriously think Naismith will win us the title? I understand the want for a quick fix but after our troubles its a long road and we are only at the beginning of that long road as step 1 was getting back to the top league. We have more money going out than what we have coming in and needless to say that has to change!

12 Jan 2018 13:37:26
Last post on this one. I hear what your saying but a squad of guys in their early 20's is still a development squad. You still need experienced players in order to develop them. Given that we can now do a fresh share issue and we've got our retail profits back, we won't need to survive on soft loans. We spent £8-10m in the summer if we spend that again except wiser then we won't be far away.

Keep Believing

12 Jan 2018 14:44:22
calvin55 - don't you want success in the near future? Rattling on about sell on money etc is a waste of time. Everyone knows Rangers are not great financially so they know they only need to offer £1m for a £3/4m player and we will accept therefore get proven players in that know the game and let's start winning trophies, forget about your football manager building a team nonsense!

12 Jan 2018 15:26:37
I think it clear from my posts what I think is the best way of getting success in the future, its not nonsense its commonsense and the best way forward in the long term. You can have experienced players at 27/ 28 that will have a sell on value.

11 Jan 2018 19:15:30
Has any one noticed in the past three weeks how the team look more relaxed and enjoying the self they look more at home which can only be a good thing

11 Jan 2018 18:53:26
Ano a lot of us including me were angry with naismith and others the way they left but its long been time to move on . Naismith has already stated money is not an issue so the board should send allen out to get him now before its too late and he ends up scoring against us.

11 Jan 2018 18:44:16
Hearts after Naismith hope they don't get him as I think he could be a big player for us.

11 Jan 2018 17:40:22
I might be a bit late to the party on this one, and I do respect the opinions of those who will never forgive the "rats". Personally I don't blame them as the club was allowed to fall into the wrong hands and any fees received for them much like the paltry sums we got for Davis etc would only have further lined the pockets of Chuckles and his cronies. I was more frustrated by the likes of Fleck, youngsters who could have been mainstays by now. I know we helped Naismith through some bad injuries and his press conference was at best ill advised and at worst unforgivable, but he was clearly hurting like the rest of us and has since apologised and showed remorse. Lord knows I've made my share of mistakes. He would without doubt improve our limited attacking options and I'd be disappointed if he ended up at Killie. Either on loan or pay as you play it's a yes from me. I also think Lafferty would have done us a turn and if Shagger was to come back he'd still be the best keeper in the country.

And whether you agree or not.
Keep Believing.

11 Jan 2018 17:59:55
He is going to Hearts

11 Jan 2018 18:22:21
Well said also if Steve Davis wanted to come back that would be great

11 Jan 2018 18:23:26
Can't blame Fleck for leaving given the grief he received from fans for having the audacity not to be as good as Wayne Rooney

11 Jan 2018 18:46:31
Why call them rats, they were right to go and look after themselves and family's. Fact if they had stayed we would be broke by now.
Those who continually look to the past and the present will miss the future.
I would sign Naismith in a heartbeat. Better than any one at Ibrox same re McGregor

11 Jan 2018 20:01:16
Naismith now Steve Davis, god this is painful reading!

11 Jan 2018 22:27:20
Don't need to keep looking back to sign ex-players. Time to look forward, to hungry, younger players

12 Jan 2018 01:18:54
they didn't know at the time chuckles would have tailed the fee so no wouldn't want any of them back

11 Jan 2018 16:21:35
Not a rumour but has anyone else watched how decent Sean Goss looks in training, am hoping he can do it on the pitch!

12 Jan 2018 14:17:32
I think Sean Goss is going to be a good signing for us ( albeit on loan), young, hungry, bags of energy, great range of passing and looks to have a good footballing brain, I maybe wrong who knows but if it does work out well then at least we have got a foot in the door when it comes to a permanent move in the summer

11 Jan 2018 11:48:05
See pedro going well in Mexico. Knocked out in first round of cup to 2nd tier team formed 5 years ago. Not to worry they played well and were aggressive.
He has faith in the best squad he has ever worked with. 😂

11 Jan 2018 12:00:53
That's not good he mightget the sack and we need to take back Pena.

11 Jan 2018 13:18:09
A took the team to beat pedros team on ma coupn last night lol.135 they were to win.

11 Jan 2018 13:40:32
135 a meant

11 Jan 2018 17:11:37
Why are people hitn disagree because a said the team were 13-5 to beat Cruz azul lol

11 Jan 2018 17:33:15
Cos you said 135

11 Jan 2018 17:43:19
A put the forward slash button between the 13 and 5 but it wasn't shown up on this site.

11 Jan 2018 08:26:01
Dorrans mrs on twitter saying his rehab going well, she said 12 weeks after his op so must be about 8 now no cast or crutches, must say she was looking good in dubai sorry he was looking well in dubai, well the picture is on her twitter yvonne dorrans, so hopefully not long.

11 Jan 2018 11:35:02
Was it dorrans mrs looking good or him off crutches that was unbelievable, it came from his mrs so i take that as a pretty solid source.

11 Jan 2018 07:32:04
I'm a rangers man, does this mean the club should sign me? I for one am sick to death of hearing this,

Alliances mean nothing to me, I'd rather have 11 technically great Roman Catholics in my team who grew up season ticket holders at parkhead than bog standard rangers fans, ability should always come first when it comes to representing Glasgow Rangers, ability should always be number 1 priority. I'm sure anyone with a Brain would agree also,

Time some fans got a grip and got out this, rangers men mentality because it blatantly hasn't worked in the previous 5 years!

11 Jan 2018 08:25:42
Well said Mcdougall, look how much alliances meant in 2012 when one or two of the so called Rangers men walked away from us in our hour of need. We need young quality regardless of what team they supported growing up which we can then develop and hopefully sell on for a decent profit. Right now its the only buisness model we can adopt that will make us self sufficient.

11 Jan 2018 13:16:01
I see what your saying McDougall ability should come first of course and I have no issue with signing catholics, but we are not in a position to go out and sign first class ability so it comes down to average player vs average player who's a fan. Looking at the most successful clubs they have their own fans and ex players working at every level Juve, Bayern, Ajax etc. If we forget our history we might as well be a new club. There are obvious reasons why things haven't worked out in the last five years I don't think the Rangers men mentality was one of them. It worked for the previous 140 years and it certainly worked for Walter.

11 Jan 2018 13:58:37
I honestly don’t think fans wanting “Rangers men” has anything to do with religion. The dark days are in the past and rightfully so. As I truly think and hope most fans would agree with.

I’m 30 years old and the rangers we have had the last 5 years isn’t the one I have known the rest of my life. I grew up watching players give their all for the shirt, players who were hungry to succeed and players who were truly hurt and pi**ed off when we lost.

Look at novo, ricksen, prso or big ammo. All of them arrived at Ibrox with different backgrounds but all left true rangers men. It has nothing to do with religion but all to do with attitude and desire.

Sadly with the money we have at the moment and the money currently in the game, this sort of player is hard to get. So the logic in buying players who have supported the club and will naturally have a desire to thrive actually makes sense to me.

11 Jan 2018 15:54:56
Mentality and ability over allegiance.

However, it doesn't hurt to have some people who care at the club, as it is evident there were 2 or 3 brought in last summer and the season before who don't/ didn't.

I think we should just focus on the future and try to pull together as fans, it's constant greeting about something from our support, worse than ever due to social media. (Had we have been winning we wouldn't even be discussing this, everything is over analysed when a team are simply not good enough) .

12 Jan 2018 00:59:40
Ability, ambition and character is what we need, don’t know what all this rubbish about alliances is about.

12 Jan 2018 01:00:41
Get Mcdougall signed up he's a rangers man!

12 Jan 2018 01:10:48
Yet worked for the previous 145!

12 Jan 2018 01:17:29
OK, what if a chineese consortium buys celtic and desmond then buys Rangers and appoints lennon as manager and signs broon as captain is that still Rangers we are supporting? Rangers are more than a club.
