We'll. People turns out warburton was magic after all. 10 minutes it took him to do a disappearing act good hex away was getting sick of same excuses we will learn etc same every week think he conjured up frankie boy as well weir was a shock mind you jumping ship with the other rats I've seen better talent at a butlns resort whole thing is comical in my opinion it's going to get worse before it gets better that's for sure.

13 Feb 2017 00:40:50
Think there's a good chance Murty may well see out position till end of season with the help of some of the experienced players especially Miller. Murty HAS been around the place prob hearing the players thoughts and discussions about what they think they should and shouldn't be doing SO poss Murty till end of season and if we play well on Sun and we were to get a really decent result and performance then i'd be ok with Murty till end of season, BUT also heard Wright has resigned and even tho I would not want Wright full time possibly ok till end of season BUT Murty knows what's been going on with squad he knows where players are regarding development etc the more I think about it Murty is poss best person to run team till end of season AND gives King more time to get best person for the job.

McLeish is a good manager BUT always thought he was a bit too defensive minded and I want to see us attacking teams and playing from the back, I know Warbs done this but he was a bit OTT and although its what I want to see the team must be allowed and be able to play that way as well as the other. All in all tomorrow we need a performance AND I think it will come. 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2

11 Feb 2017 23:42:15
Tim Sherwood as manager and Paul Mitchell who is working his notice as head of recruitment at Spurs would be a great shout.
Do we need an ex ger?

11 Feb 2017 23:02:47
Not really a stepping stone to the EPL when forrest is in a relagation dog fight good riddance.

11 Feb 2017 22:22:04
DeBöer has to be the one who will take us forward, especially when we reach Europe. Brought up in a dutch football education which is among the best in the world, and he'll no doubt have good contacts in their market. Knows European football extremely well. I would love to see Barry Ferguson there in some capacity. He's earning a reputation as a fantastic coach, albeit with Clyde, he is very well spoken off as a manager and a coach. Would have players bleeding blue and fighting for the shirt. Possibly too soon for him though. Don't want Davies, McLeish, MacInnes, Wright as they'll never take us forward in Europe.

11 Feb 2017 23:39:58
Dont fancy FDB tbh, to much like MW in the sense that he plays the same way all the time and doesn't change it up when things aren't going well

12 Feb 2017 22:55:22
I really do think the team WILL step up a gear starting on Sunday! I hope Murty goes 4-4-2 and this is the team I would put out please Beats give me not only your thoughts but your formation and line up. My team is as follows.
Fods
Wallace
Wilson or Sendaros
Hill
Hodson
McKay
Toral
Hyndman
Windass or Forested
Garner
Miller
Their are a few ways to set up midfeild AND ideally I would like McKay on th Right Wing BUT of Murty could put McKay and Forrester or O'Halloran on the wings then he needs to let them switch from time to time during match. As for the middle I think Hyndman needs to be in their pushing forward AND either Toral or poss Halliday as a defensive mid, I dunno? would like to deep Windass introduced and I think he could do a job on the wing. A midfeild of O'Halloran Rossiter Hyndman and McKay on the right would prob Bro our best bet if fit.

Bears let me know your 4-4-2 And who plays a defensive midfeild position? Hodson and keep Tavs at RB? No matter what Murty HAS TO get away from this 4-3-3 and the team SHOULD try and gubb Morton its been a long long time since we walked off the pitch with a 3-4 goal distance AND if the team wants to send a message NOW is the time.

Got a funny feeling Kiernan may play as the best thing he could do would be to put in a performance instead of being on the bench BUT I think HE would have to have a word with Murty if he really wants to or he's made up his mind and wants to leave Ibrox. BUT now is the time for the team to show that they are a better than decent squad and with correct formation can get to the Final and nail 2nd

12 Feb 2017 23:07:31
I think we need to get back to consistency in the premier league first before Europe to be honest

12 Feb 2017 23:16:21
Whom ever is the manager, the latest statement from King needs to be understood.

He claims £18 mill of the £30 mill he promised as investment has already been spent. His £30 mill investment is not in buying players, its in running all aspects of the club. Furthermore, that £30 mill includes all revenues generated by the club, so he is not talking about putting in £30 mill of his own money, he is talking about £30 mill from season tickets, loans etc. So how much is a new manager going to get to spend on players? Not a lot. So no matter who comes in, its going to be a long road back.

11 Feb 2017 22:18:38
Michael oneil is my pick, i can see the attraction with de boer but i think we need somebody that can push average sides which we are at the minute, what's happened again is a mess but if what the board say is true then see ya, i think that people forget the board is full of successful business minds and you don't get rich being mugged off still think something stinks but we'll see, i'd love barry back but not as top boy yet.
P. s little bear was born by c section last night 6 lb 3 knackered when i heard about warbs thought i was dreaming lol.

11 Feb 2017 23:08:06
Stmonkey RFC congratulations on your new arrival hope all is good and enjoy the dirty nappy changes lol

11 Feb 2017 23:59:03
Congratulations StmonkeyRFC. Hope all is well!

Thanks boys its my wee bear I've got 2 girls so i'm happy, ill change nappies all day long,

12 Feb 2017 22:50:01
He's a hibee no way mate

12 Feb 2017 23:10:19
Congratulations on your new arrival hope mother and baby are well

13 Feb 2017 00:02:07
Congrats Stmonkey. Hope the wee guy behaves himself and let's you all get some sleep. Enjoy the magic!

11 Feb 2017 21:14:33
I have been a season ticket holders for 34 years. I cannot understand why individuals would want Barry Ferguson anywhere near Rangers again. He was a decent player at most who took a lot of money from Rangers. He does not merit being near Rangers again. I can only imagine the younger supporters support him. Think outside the box. Past players do not equal management.

11 Feb 2017 21:38:21
To be fair as a player Barry was a lot better than decent and a million miles better than any player we currently have! he wasn't a bad captain either in my opinion.

I'm not saying he should be our next manager but he definitely deserves more respect than that mate

11 Feb 2017 21:59:34
Barry Ferguson has no high level managerial experience. Why do so many bears call for ex players when we need a new manager. It doesn't work. Remember John Greig, Ally? . Ex players telling the current squad players what it is all about playing for us doesn't make them better players.

We need someone with no Rangers links who has been successful at a good level in England. Look at what o'neill Strahan (at first) and now Rogers did. Came up with premiership experience, spotted the weaknesses straight away brought up some decent players from England and won league easily in first season.

11 Feb 2017 23:36:49
Gor I've been a season ticket holder for 37 years and I know Barry Ferguson divides opinion but u must have missed the two seasons when he carried an average Rangers team. At that time I honestly believe he was only behind Gerrard in his position.
Any way That doesn't really matter because there are a large percentage of Rangers fans who don't appreciate his contribution and sadly never will.
The thing is I think it would be a bold and ultimately a productive move to give him a chance as a manager at the team he loves. Maybe a one year rolling contract and if it doesn't work move on. In any case I would rather a died in the wool bluenose to DeBoer, Laudrup or another twat from England.

11 Feb 2017 23:43:30
Got to agree Peter Huistra, can't believe how anyone can say Fergie was "decent at best". if we had anyone with half his desire and ability in our team i'd be happy

12 Feb 2017 23:57:35
Ferguson was a fantastic player for Rangers and should always be remembered as such. However he isn't ready to manage us just now but would possibly make a good assistant manager

11 Feb 2017 21:09:56
Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I hear in press and that we don't have the money to pay out any managers so need to go for someone unemployed and can't really afford people like de boer, pardrew and gio, so leaves us little choice, I would prefer to look outside of the normal past players and past managers but I think we need someone who understands rangers and what it is to be involved with a club like ours

11 Feb 2017 20:51:00
Alright lads. My list of managers who I'd hate to see at rangers.

Number ono fandango.

Derek Adams, the torn faced belter plays the worst football you've ever seen. Did you see him very Liverpool? Or ever watch Ross C? The most negitive play ever.

The swinging number 2 is Billy Davis

This man hangs around ibrox every time a job comes up. He's the creepy mate of your Mrs whos waiting on the wings til you break up with her. Utter pumpkin of a man with the personality of an used hemorrhoid applicator. He's only done one decent job (NFFC this first time) . I'd rather rub my testicle in jam and plop it in a bees nest, although I wouldn't be superised if that's what Billys into.

I'd go for someone with class and a good knowledge of Scottish football in the interim. Jocky Scott, John Lambey or even the legendry Bobby Williamson. Then I'd probably settle for Van Gall.

Peace.

11 Feb 2017 22:01:18
Aye no bad pal got a chuckle atleast!

11 Feb 2017 22:20:11
Lol,
John Lambie! Awesome, what a legend he was.

11 Feb 2017 22:37:35
Remember John lambie was smoking fags in the dressing room in the partick thistle documentary.

11 Feb 2017 23:45:32
Im worried that was a serious post c-bear😂

12 Feb 2017 08:40:56
What about jimmy calderwood? Is he available?

11 Feb 2017 19:56:41
McLeish till end of season to try and steady ship, then i really think the club should try and send out a statement of intent in going forward by approaching frank de boer, i do NOT think this is impossible, some cash required, yes but not impossible, send it on and let's do this.

11 Feb 2017 23:49:09
Dont think we should b looking for an interm til the end of the season as that's just a waste of 6months. let's get the guy in we want just now whoever that may be and let him asess the squad so he knows what he needs to do in the summer

12 Feb 2017 21:37:27
Like you BornToFollow, i truly don't think its beyond the realms for us to appoint frank de boer as the next rangers longterm manager in the summer! let's make a massive statement of intent here! Going by his interview he seems really interested in becoming the 16th man to be permanent rangers manager, in the summer! Go get him rangers board of directors!

12 Feb 2017 22:20:10
Bears Opinions Pls. Do u think its too early for Barry AND would it make a difference if he would come in as assistant? Would he be happy to come in as an assistant? and if he did and the new Manager did not progress would he then be in firing line AS Assistant? We will need someone be it in nxt couple of weeks ire come end of season.
I'm sure DeBoer McLeish or any Manager who are currently available have players in mind who they would want in their team SO the thing I keep hearing about possible managers who will need time to scour the market for players is rubbish an out of work manager will know who he would like in his team be it a list of players who would cost X amount OR even have players in mind who are available on a free or a Pre-Contract Hell a manager worth his salt would even know about players he could get on loan if the nxt job he would get put him in that position! If King has phoned DeBoer or McLeish OR god willing Redknapp they 100% will have a list of players that he could attract to our club yeah
Please tell me if u agree that if King had approached you about possibility of becoming our nxt manager the first thing you would be young is your homework on players IN and OUT!
SO my list AND Bears I know sonera just ain't going to happen ARE.
Redknapp
Souness
DeBoer
Gattuso
T. Wright
McLeish
Any of these with Barry as assistant BUT as I said Barry could be in firing line if things go South yeah?

11 Feb 2017 19:40:29
How do we think murty will set up his side tomorrow?

I would imagine he won't want to make drastic changes and start changing shape of side due to lack of time to work with players wouldn't imagine he had anything other than a quick meeting this morning and a light session probably would have kept it to basics ie bit of ball work and some movement drills! Nothing technical!

12 Feb 2017 00:59:52
It would be a start if he played his team selection in their natural positions.

11 Feb 2017 19:16:58
What are people's thoughts on Neil Mccann coming in to the backroom staff, I'd like to see if he could improve our wingers on taking a defender on and getting a good ball into the box, always talks positively about rangers and comes across very well.

11 Feb 2017 19:31:51
Waste of a wage I would reckon mate! We need an intrim manager in to steady ship and get players focused on winning games, not every tom, dick or harry doing we bits of coaching here or there! Murty will lean on wallace and miller and big jim stewart that's enough for now! Get into next round of cup and see what board want for rest of season! Neil mcann is a pundit so talks a game no coaching experience as far as i'm aware! The 'wingers' played to warbs instructions by cutting in and playing ball inside! They will now play to next managers tactics

11 Feb 2017 20:02:06
We could do worse than get McCann it all depends if he would give up his cushy wee number with sky.

11 Feb 2017 22:47:21
gmw I agree McCann talks sense I would be 100 percent behind that with a more experienced man in the hot seat.

11 Feb 2017 23:45:36
Spot on Nic. nothing against wee McCann but no chance.
Personally I would go for Barry Ferguson or Gary Rowatt if he's still available

11 Feb 2017 23:53:06
I wouldn't mind McCann in some capacity but remember good ex players don't make players better. remember Davie Weir, great defender yet we have one of the worse defences iv seen in years at Ibrox

12 Feb 2017 20:51:01
He's contracted to sky sports so don't think he would drop his tv work it's really good money and he nos how hard it is but he's got good things to say

12 Feb 2017 20:55:17
Bears what players will go in Summer? here's my list.
1.Sendaros
2.Wags
3.Kiernan
4.Toral
5.Hyndman
Think that there MUST be more AND there is a possibility that loans could stay IF Europe is on cards. Players like Crooks Holt Halliday Hill even Miller who including HILL due to finances would like to stay as both can do a decent job for another season. Players need to be moved on for sheer reason that money needs to be freed up ALSO think new manager could be give an transfer budget of near 8m!

11 Feb 2017 17:42:41
Quite an embarrassing carry on but hopefully we get it right this time

I see Dave King saying in his statement that board room info is confidential but everyone on twitter seems to know exactly who's being considered- got to laugh

I'm looking forward to seeing if the new gaffer will get different results out of the likes of Garner and O'Halleron
Mix the systems up a bit and we might see very different results out of some of these guys.

12 Feb 2017 19:59:56
Agree Fraser52. I am looking forward to seeing how they line up and play tomorrow against Morton. The players must have been negatively impacted by the actions of the management team and hope tomorrow we all rise to the occasion.

12 Feb 2017 20:08:52
I think whoever comes in will get the best out of these players. They did well at their old clubs and a good player doesn't become bad just like that. It was the system that failed them

11 Feb 2017 17:10:29
Dave king confirms warburton wanted to use rangers as a stepping stone to work for EPL teams in the future.

11 Feb 2017 17:23:36
Dnothing unusual there all the English players in the team are the same and a whole load of past players did the same the only people that are loyal are us guys the rest it's all about the money!

11 Feb 2017 17:35:52
Nothing wrong with that, EPL is place to be for top pros! But imo he showed a lack of respect towards our club if what king says is true regarding the way they 'resigned' and imo he hasn't been happy for months and it filtered onto the pitch as the team looked to have as much commitment as he did in the end! let's look forward, starting with morton who will be right up for it! let's get a performance put in and advance to next round! Mr warburton u just didn't have the character for the job!

11 Feb 2017 17:40:14
Yeah like every other ambitious manager he wants a go at the EPL. Does anybody think Rodgers isn't using Celtic to do the same thing?

And can anybody explain to me if King was so annoyed at Warbs claiming he was using Rangers as a stepping stone, why did he agree to renew his contract until 2019 and increase his salary?

And if Warb's contract was immediately terminated on Monday why wasn't he asked to clear his desk but instead allowed him to hold a press conference on Friday?

Something very fishy about King's statement.

11 Feb 2017 18:07:23
Spot on Naz, if only more people would think like you then maybe the right people would be in place. To many flaws in his statement.

11 Feb 2017 18:40:17
Naz, interesting take on the statement! How can you see such negativity in the positives that he outlined?

I didn't interpretate his comments about stepping stone to the EPL as being negative, just stating the facts

11 Feb 2017 18:59:45
His contract was not terminated at that point by the club, he asked them to accept his resignation with no financial compensation to be paid to any club he may be asked to join. Rangers have accepted.

11 Feb 2017 19:02:40
BR65, How in hell do you see the statement as being positive? And as Naz says, why was their contracts not terminated on Monday? Then a statement made ------ honesty and transparency might be a foreign language to DK, but that is what is necessary for us to move forward.

11 Feb 2017 19:13:57
the agent had a meeting on Monday with one of the directors to ask for his clients to be released from their contracts with no compensation one director can not agree to this so no answer was given a boardroom meeting was arranged for Fri on the Thursday the agent again asked for a meeting saying they wanted to stay on till end of season but still leave in summer or when a club was found with no compensation being paid board met fri night decided to accept original offer of resignation I'm with them no probs with them using club as a stepping stone but not thinking they can do as they please if you ask to be realeased then that's it it's not as though they were doing well so onwards we go but the board must get this right

11 Feb 2017 19:28:43
Personally I believe that Rangers would be a better Club if we had someone other than King at the helm. Ideally a respected UK Businessman like Kennedy or one of the many 'closet wealthy Rangers fans'.

Whoever comes in, if they are a quality coach then they will want to compete with Celtic and they will demand a serious transfer kitty to bring in three or four quality players in key positions.

Call me a Cynic but we only hear from King when it is season ticket sales or there is a mini crisis and it is always the same bullwhip about investing more, tomorrow. While the Three Bears and the Far East guys have invested, from what I can see, King has kept his cash in his pocket!

11 Feb 2017 20:21:22
Billyb, seems like we're never going to agree!

I thinks the statement was a clear and considered update on MW's departure, the boards view on our progress, finance and the way forward.

He admitted that we are behind the curve compared to the plan and has stated that they intend to remedy that even if they have to invest more that they had originally envisaged.

He did not tell us who the next manager would be, what is happening with MA, the Easdales or any other potential investors but did explain the for various reasons some information had to be kept confidential.

Overall, a positive note for me

11 Feb 2017 21:01:14
I think a director of football will be appointed as king has spoke about that in the past, I would like to see someone like Mcleish in that role but not as manager. Personally I think he's had his day.

11 Feb 2017 21:35:27
Think it's time we all stopped the arguing and get get behind the team. I always stuck up for mw but I feel as if I've been duped after hearing he met up for talks with another club. Davie weir is a let down as well . Let's hope the board get the best man they can afford and we can get back to cheering on the most successful club in the world.

11 Feb 2017 22:10:06
BR65, your second paragraph sums up why we disagree. Total pie in the sky. There is no doubt we are both bluenoses, so let us allow time to take its course, and I totally believe your loyalty will be let down. Being cynical has its benefits.

12 Feb 2017 19:17:14
Really hope legal advice was sought and followed throughout and that accounts for some of the delay. Like all statements there is an element of spin in this one. Major step forward though and the board deserve our support for decisive action.

11 Feb 2017 16:57:34
MW always been out his depth, need to be a real Stevie Wonder not to see that.
He is certainly not 100% to blame, the managements team lack of experience and results scared the board, I'm guessing they've not been backed properly since the Barton debacle.
BUT
To underhandedly, dick dastardly style to sneak a quick exit out of the glorious fish bowl of Glasgow! Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Dame Mcpartland you shall not be missed . Onwards and upwards.

11 Feb 2017 16:21:41
Statement from King is clear and transparent! Speaking about finance, Warburton resignation and hinting strongly to leaks coming out of ibrox being via Warburton.
The board have handled this all very well and Warburton and his representatives must be strongly regretting actions at start of week which have back fired on them so publically.

11 Feb 2017 16:42:43
There are two sides to every story. I suspect we'll hear the other soon enough.

If King's is accurate, fair play to him and the Board. I'm disappoint that it didn't work out with Warburton and it will be very, very interesting to see who comes in now.

11 Feb 2017 16:44:24
I agree completely however if they do not have any minutes from that meeting or a written resignation then it could prove costly.

If they do not have evidence of this meeting or agreement and have consequently terminated the contract then the board will look foolish to say the least.

I love the open and transparent statement, but it does feel like we are washing our dirty linen in public. We now need a solid appointment for the long term. It better not be Billy Davies

11 Feb 2017 16:54:58
Always two sides to a story.

But if there has been dishonesty there may well be some "spin" unless they are gagged by their lawyers .

11 Feb 2017 17:32:10
Just read kings statement. Interesting indeed. 1. Wages being wasted with players not playing? Surely can't blame injuries.

2. He said they resigned on Monday night. So why would they still there on Friday?
3. 18 million spent of the 30 million warchest. If so what has happened to the 16.18 million season ticket money?
4. Honestly think it's a pr spin to get rangers fans onside to buy season tickets again.
5. Think the job was way to big for warburton and the signs were there from last reasons Scottish cup final.

11 Feb 2017 18:50:46
Lance, you're way to negative as usual!

1. No need for interpretation, just look at the team sheets over the past few months, ignore the injuries, add the incoming players and work out minutes on the pitch.

2. I read "intended to resign, negotiations, agent". I didn't see resigned on Monday

3. Look at our accounts and get real with the money coming in v going out

4. So don't buy a season ticket! Save your money and moan from your sofa

5. With hindsight taking into account t this weeks information, I agree. I also. Think that the board did a great service to the club last night

11 Feb 2017 19:16:32
BR65. So you honestly think that there has been 18 million plus season ticket money put into the club this season? So that's about 35 million and they are still getting loans which now total about 10 to 12 million. Everyone going on about how he only had about 4 million max to spend so where gap the rest of the money went and please don't say the stadium.

12 Feb 2017 14:49:15
I backed warburton for a long time, now I wish I never backed him at all, he tried and failed to get to Forrest, as for davie weir, disgusted.!

12 Feb 2017 14:56:01
I think it stinks of Jim trainor spin, the board get shot of some big wages for nothing, and blame warburton for everything that's wrong, season tickets will go on sale early with Jim trainor fed stories of a big name.
For everything you lot have been through, for god sakes listen to all sides and don't jump on the one you want to be right

12 Feb 2017 18:53:56
Lance, you're so smart, you've figured it all out. I'd suggest tic fear of a resurgence.

11 Feb 2017 14:46:38
What about a director of football set up?

11 Feb 2017 16:16:13
Really depends who is in as manager if its a younger guy with only one or two previous posts then yes possibly (have to be someone who knows our club though) but if its an experienced campaigner, with their own trusted assistant and first team coach then probably not! I really hope we hold off until end of season and have a look how things lie down south if likes of leeds miss out on playoff promotion garry monk (probably be in demand) would be a cracker!

11 Feb 2017 16:26:58
Derek adams is still my pick great job at plymouth and has done well in past with ross county! Think he will take argyle up this year so don't know what he would want to do as that's probably as far as they can go! he's ready for a bigger job (yes ours is massive) but he looks to have a good future as a manager! He has big brewster as his side kick, tidy big player in his day with plenty of experience and both guys know the league and the history of our club! All depends on where we are shopping really! Which remains a mystery at present.

11 Feb 2017 21:33:18
My choice would be Michael o'niell under a director of football. Or frank de boer.

12 Feb 2017 14:51:11
I would love to get Barry Ferguson back to the club in some roll, not as manager though, poss assistant to someone.

12 Feb 2017 19:15:41
Adams is on a 5 year contract and would cost a fortune in compensation.

11 Feb 2017 14:38:30
I hope that Alec McLeish takes on the job to the end of the season with assistance from from three senior players to assist with coaching. [ Hill, Miller and Wallace. ]

11 Feb 2017 15:38:58
So long as it is only tis the end of the season to give us time to find a quality managerial team and the level of investment needed to take us back to our rightful position then so be it.

11 Feb 2017 15:40:37
For tomorrows game I would like to see Murtie given support from Souness, Smith, Gough and Brown. Get these guys into the dressing room with the players to do the team talk and we will win at ease!

Our players will not have seen the like in their careers and the club will not have seen a team talk like it in the past five years!

11 Feb 2017 15:56:33
Yes Tom, till the end of the season, but I would disagree with getting our legends into the dressing room. Hopefully they could be in attendance within Ibrox, but taking it that stage forward could leave players and staff, overawed.

11 Feb 2017 15:59:50
Seen some fans wanting Barry Ferguson as new boss. If we were going down that route of a younger manager I would rather try Robbie neilson but might be too big a job for younger manager just now.

11 Feb 2017 16:32:15
Harry rednapp could be an option. Would sort mess out

11 Feb 2017 20:26:07
Harry Rednapp!
Like we need another snout in the shrinking trough.

11 Feb 2017 21:29:44
I'm ok with Alex MCleish thought he did a good job last time who could forget helicopter Sunday but do you really think he is the type of guy who would come in to fill a gap till end of season can't see that he's his own man no stand in

11 Feb 2017 21:33:46
We may as well just give miller the job till end of the season rather than bringing in an interim

12 Feb 2017 19:05:27
Get Walter and McLeish in for the remainder of season.

12 Feb 2017 19:17:33
Jaws, Robbie Neilson is a great shout!

11 Feb 2017 14:28:34
My preference would be De boer to give us a fresh start but whoever it is need support from us and DK. We have went backwards this season and now our scouting infrastructure needs built from scratch again. Where are you DK? We need answers.

11 Feb 2017 14:22:08
Looks like the club will have another legal battle, but the board have made a great call, if it's true that warburton and weir and mcparland tried and failed to work their ticket to Forrest then good on the board, so much for warburton showing respect to the club that payed his wages, well done rangers board members.

11 Feb 2017 14:29:17
Seen that mate, and if true then they have dealt with it superbly.

11 Feb 2017 14:32:40
Totally agree Delboy, I have criticised the board's actions on many occasions, but with this decision they are spot on, and all credit to them for calling it correctly.

11 Feb 2017 14:21:58
See a lot about who will come in next as manager some I like some who sound good on paper x players and some just crazy dk and the board need to have a good think about this 1
We don't want a free loader we don't need part timer we need a manager who can come in and get the most out of what's there hard task
I'd take harry rednapp in a heart beat but we all can pick but Graeme souness is the 1 that would get everyone back on there feet it would make a statement.

12 Feb 2017 18:01:52
He isn't fit enough to manage due to his heart hasn't managed in about 10 years either. but I know what you mean we need that type of personality or fire in dressing room kicking arses

11 Feb 2017 11:59:14
I just hope whoever the next manager is knows how to make tactical changes, keeping possession. MW was good but end product was poor. Maybe dodoo will get a proper chance to show us what he's about. a fresh start could be what all the players need. A strong manager to guide them and get them fighting for the badge.

11 Feb 2017 13:28:56
Okay now I've really struggled to read or listen to anything Rangers related the last couple of weeks because of our performances and the excuses/ crap that MW was trying to feed all of us.

So after hearing of the news of his resignation and the way it all went down I can actually say that I am proud of our board. He wanted to leave so they let him, he wanted to crawl back we told him to sod off. It's decisions like that that build the right culture around the club and it's one small stepping stone into building or club into one that takes us to where we belong.
Patience lads, it won't happen overnight but things will come together.

11 Feb 2017 12:31:58
Didn't see this happening in what seems a rushed, unplanned manner. Can't change it now so must look forward. Think now is the time to be ambitious and positive, and bring in a manager who is of a high calibre. For me the only candidates that excite me are De Boer and Souness. Wouldn't have McInnes, Wright, O'Neill, or Eck, none of them would bring positive change in my opinion.

11 Feb 2017 13:28:18
Gary Rowett instead of Souness. Overall agreed but.

11 Feb 2017 14:00:41
Keep on hearing Souness, does nobody watch Sky Sports, the man is clearly not well.
Also the bring back Walter brigade just let the man enjoy his retirement Christ The Rangers job aged the two of them!
Unsure who to go for though!

11 Feb 2017 14:05:49
Gary Rowett 👍

11 Feb 2017 14:14:01
Bongo, how about garry monk at leeds utd or david wagner at huddersfield? I'd also throw in another name that's not been mentioned, nigel pearson! What you think mate? We need to think out the box to all the usual suspects! Another 3 that have been mentioned that i'd have as our next manager are, frank de boer, gio van bronckhurst and jurgen klinsmann!

11 Feb 2017 14:44:42
Super cooper

Unsure about the first 3 Rangers I think the Rangers job would be to big for them
De Boer maybe, only thing I do know is Billy Davie's no Way.
I'd be raging if he got it .
Tomorrow we'll need to get right behind every one associated with our club give the board a round of applause and I hope yer pal MOH gets a game and none if this 60 min subs if you need to sub after 20 min do it if it's not working .

Come on the Famous Glasgow Rangers!

11 Feb 2017 14:44:50
Superccoop I have no idea who it will be but 1 thing is certain it will not be anyone from another club you simply cannot afford the compensation.
But then again you guys never live in the real world.

11 Feb 2017 21:13:03
Supercoop I suggested 'Take no shit' Pearson some weeks agao and I still think he'd be a great shout. He's the man who turned Leicester City round and made them what they are - England's champions.

11 Feb 2017 11:53:50
De Boer just on tv and says he wants a break and ready to start at a club in pre season not mid season. He would listen he said but hasn't been approached.

11 Feb 2017 13:58:05
Short term fix with De Boer taking charge in the summer. I'd be happy with that mate. He's the type of appointment we need to rival Rodgers appointment at Celtic in the summer.

Can see Mcleish or Davies taking us to the end of the season which I'd be fine with.

11 Feb 2017 12:13:19
Dave king get bk to glasgow NOW and run glasgow rangers from Glasgow it's not a part time job it's GLASGOW RANGERS

11 Feb 2017 13:43:59
Better still, find someone else to take the role as Chairman, someone that is more action than mouth!

11 Feb 2017 13:46:51
Hope we got better legal advice than we got during the barton fiasco. Once again the club I love are a laughin stock

11 Feb 2017 14:17:39
Correct TOMUSA! Get brian kennedy on the board in some capacity and change king as chairman to someone like douglas park, paul murray, john gilligan etc!

11 Feb 2017 12:09:56
I like big Davie Weir. Thought he was a great player for us.
But where is everyone getting the idea he is a true blue etc? Talking about him like a lifelong supporter or someone who has always been tied to the club like Walter Smith or Greig?
I'm not trying to slate him just wonderingwhy everyone thinks his loyalty to Rangers is so strong.

11 Feb 2017 13:28:52
Always admired big Davie when we entered administration and he happily left the club taking himself off the wage bill.

So far we've had the Rangers PR spin on events and personally I won't slate DW until I've heard his side of the story.

11 Feb 2017 14:02:01
The family are all Gers fans tbf

11 Feb 2017 11:45:04
Warburton mentions yesterday in his pressers that he was down south during the week meeting a coach, about a player he was interested in signing for next season. Makes you wonder if he was he down being interviewed for the Forrest job or not?

Maybe their owner having appointed 5 managers since taking over in 2015 was the one that wasn't willing to pay the 1million compensation to Rangers, should the management team want to move on. This prompted MW to send the agent to RFC board to negotiate the release, if they resigned not prompting personal compensation.

I think the agent working on behalf of MW, DW and FM has made a real hash of these negotiations. Can only hope the board have it in writing or minutes as this could get messy.

For new boss I'd take McLeish with Ferguson as assistant temporarily, assessing it until the end of season. If it works great, if not go for Michael Laudrup.

11 Feb 2017 12:09:08
@akrus blue - why the hell would M Laudrop come to Rangers? Club in turmoil, no money and unrealistic ambitions from the fans.

11 Feb 2017 12:18:30
The hull boss only contract till the end of season I'd take him

11 Feb 2017 12:39:22
UnionJack

It's an aspirational choice granted, however the board is going to have to make money available to the new manager. Whoever that is, is going to have to negotiate the terms and budget involved. Laudrup is currently managing a Quattri team. Plenty money but hardly an aspirational club that going to do anything in Europe.

11 Feb 2017 11:40:31
I have no doubt that Warburton has been in discussion with Notts Forrest.
Did he get his agent to broker a leaving deal which would have suited him (giving up any bonuses etc. ) in return Rangers would not seek compensation from signing club. This would be a win/ win financially for both parties.
However, Notts appointing someone else has scuppered that deal. King now knows his management team are not committed to the club and wants them out without having to compensate them (rightly so) and is using this deal to let them go claiming they resigned. (I'm still waiting on his £30 million by the way)
Talking to a mate who made an interesting point.
If Warburton etc. turn up to take training today and the club refuse them access then what can follow is that they will then claim dismissal which would require them to be paid off under any written contract agreement.

11 Feb 2017 13:02:57
That would really depend. If the board have in writing that they have offered resignation then they won't have a leg to stand on. Trying to work out what's going on myself this is where the transparency the board talked about would help

11 Feb 2017 11:27:46
Said this in a previous post. I would love Pardew in as manager. No compensation, a bit of fire in his belly and not scared to kick a few bums. You could say he was a failure but was he really? Look at palace and Newcastle now since he left! Also redknapp is free at moment!

11 Feb 2017 11:57:10
Can see why you could recommend Pardew but he would expect £50k a week.

11 Feb 2017 12:10:24
@spurs1974 - if Cashley was in sole charge Pardew might have happened as they are seemingly mates.

11 Feb 2017 12:59:09
Pardew might be interested to get himself into the game and frame again.
Regardless what anyone thinks, BR across the city is getting plenty of publicity and positive reviews (cant really argue with the job he has done so far) and the clubs down south are watching.
Pardew could get himself into a similar situation at Rangers which would be a win/ win for both parties.
Pardew at Rangers? not such a bad suggestion

11 Feb 2017 13:27:37
Plus Pardew has a record of coming into a club with a bang but then things simmer and go downhill and then he gets papped.

11 Feb 2017 13:49:20
Be interested to see why the person who disagreed with my post felt that.

11 Feb 2017 15:35:31
pardew will not come as he is friends with ashley so no go full stop.

11 Feb 2017 16:03:45
pardew had a gambling habit when he was at newcastle, he signed all his wages away to laimbias and fatty, he signed a 5 year contract and they got him out that way, fatty is friends with nobody not where money and power is concerned, i am surprised benitez has lasted this long he will be off shortly

11 Feb 2017 11:14:21
Looking forward to Sunday cup match!

It will "separate the men from the boys"

Going forward I look forward to

The return of the famous "Iron Curtain" that represented the Rangers defence and a goal scoring striker.

There is no need to spend to fortune for such immediate success - let start with a win on Sunday!

11 Feb 2017 11:45:20
I genuinely think Morton have a massive chance on Sunday. This is a farce.

11 Feb 2017 10:52:23
I have mixed emotions today if I am honest.

Most of you will know I wanted them out a long time ago. However to have this all over the front pages in the manner of which it is, is a another reminder of how far we have fallen. There was a time when we would carry out our business behind closed doors and situations such as this were handled it a completely different manner. This situation is another farce!

The next move is crucial. The next manager must be of a far higher calibre. It's time to stop scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I see now the story is getting worse, Email hacking? We are a mess.

11 Feb 2017 12:21:47
Prandelli anyone?

11 Feb 2017 14:07:25
Hopefully we can get somebody in till the end of the season to steady the ship and try something new with the players we have because this is another horrible feeling that us fans again have to deal with and again no word from anyone to let us know what the hell is going on, we are in complete disarray again!

11 Feb 2017 10:48:48
Everyone's naming guys that could succeed warburton and most fans want a guy that knows the club and is passionate and could work with this bunch of players everyone including the media is missing one guy that stands out to me this guy has worked with the best of the best in terms of managers and is very very highly rated as a coach in England and has his links with rangers and knows what's expected and I do know it's highly unlikely.

what do you guys think of Ray Wilkins former player been assistant to mourinho and hiddink at Chelsea and must of learned a lot from these guys very well spoken in the media and we'll thought of down south and has a broad knowledge of footballers no compensation or anything and would bring the passion back thoughts on this?

11 Feb 2017 11:00:39
No chance . Great guy though

11 Feb 2017 11:06:26
Ray Wilkins as a number 2 maybe as boss no way terrible call!

11 Feb 2017 12:07:44
I heard he has a drink problem. I don't mean that in any offence to anyone but this may cause problems.

11 Feb 2017 13:04:43
It was just my thoughts that he's worked with the best lol don't think he would be assistant manager at gers under a manager like mcleish or Davies as these guys have nothing on hiddink and mourinho he's got to cut his teeth in management at some point.

I'd take a chance on him lol but again just my opinion I respect your opinions also and understand where you are coming from who would you like in as manager and do u think hel get funds? We fans have had a tough five years going to be a rough 6th year by the looks of it and it's only Feb lol but we do what we do best and that's keep the faith with the side even though there's some that should be leaving with the management

11 Feb 2017 10:18:55
Perhaps we need to get a top name in as our next manager but we clearly can't afford one. So how about a dyed in the wool True Blue Barry Ferguson as our next manager? He'd die for the club and jump at the chance and we can afford him. Maybe Neil McCann can be his no.2 and Kenny Miller the coach.

11 Feb 2017 10:30:19
Not the worst suggestion in the world but, I think it might be to early for the Barry Fergus era.

11 Feb 2017 10:32:23
I'd give Barry a go with a Director of Football above him . Got the right attitude, knows what is expected . Nothing to lose

11 Feb 2017 10:39:46
I wouldn't be surprised to see Miller get handed the position. He's got everything going for him.

11 Feb 2017 10:38:00
That's just what we need. A wee ned with a bad attitude and that serves as a reminder of the recent past! Get a grip!

11 Feb 2017 10:44:36
Barry would get the players fighting for the team, but i'm not sure if he is good enough.

11 Feb 2017 11:00:33
derek mcinnes or graham alexander 4 me guys like davies mcleish are dinosaurs

11 Feb 2017 11:04:18
I like the Ray Wilkins idea, a classy guy who was a classy player and he can also be a fiery character as we have seen, likes football played the right way and must have loads of useful contacts, fondly remembered from his time at Ibrox.
Would be a good motivator I am sure.

11 Feb 2017 11:15:15
RF Cinfinity. I wasn't talking about Neil Lennon LOL!

11 Feb 2017 11:17:06
YEAH, Barry the guy that felt he was more important than the manager, the guy that gave guys like Charlie Adams stick when they tried to do anything other than give the ball to him in order that he could give a 2yard pass to someone else, normally backwards, can never understand why so many fans think he was anything near the class of many others we have had, eg his brother was 100% better than him, manager absolutely not

11 Feb 2017 11:39:22
Rangeken. You must have been watching someone other than Ferguson. The guy played nearly 300 times for Rangers and scored 44 goals as a midfielder and 45 caps for Scotland. Rangers won the Premier League, Scottish Cup and League Cup five times each during his time with us and he was clearly an out and out Rangers man. Sure he wasn't perfect, but who is? I'd like to see him back at the club in some managerial role, if not manager then no.2 to the like of Ray Wilkins (I like that idea) or Billy Davies.

11 Feb 2017 11:52:57
Not sure if Barry would want the job as it can only be a matter of time before the likes of a Barcelona or Bayern try to lure him after the stunning success he has brought to Clyde.

Seriously, he is a bang average manager in the lowest tier of Scottish football. If anyone wants to place faith in him stopping Rodgers taking Celtic to ten in a row then you will be very disappointed.

11 Feb 2017 13:57:48
We have been given the opportunity of a clean start, a chance to bring in a manager that can challenge Rodgers, and a chance for Dave King to prove that he is not all talk. We need to take time to make the right choice and ensure that the incoming manager is given a serious transfer kitty.

Going for Macleish would be a disaster and Billy Davies would be taking us to an even lower level than our club has already sunk to.

Guys like McInnes had the opportunity to overtake Celtic during the past four seasons and failed and are now every bit as far behind them as we are.

11 Feb 2017 12:05:01
RFC infinity your choice would be?
People are entitled to their opinion, it's all speculation after all!

The op above about Ray Wilkins is thinking out the box . he has all the qualities, hadn't considered him but would make a lot of sense . good shout Joerfc.

11 Feb 2017 13:03:22
there is no doubt Barry was a great player and a winner. I think even the most cynical if fans will agree that he was head and shoulders above what we have now. But as a manager? No, not until he proves himself. Big Eck would get wired into the players if they weren't performing. Badly overdue imo

11 Feb 2017 10:18:41
I'm not sticking up for Warburton and the rest of the management / so called scouting man but, serious questions have to be asked about what's going on inside Ibrox.
Why was Warburton given a new deal?
Where is the investment Dave king promised?
Why was Warburton allowed to bring in controversial and injury prone players?
What happened to Dave Kings honesty and transparency?
These are just some of the questions I'd like answers too.
Poor management on and off the field as I see it.
Question is, where do we go from here? How many fans will buy a season ticket next year if this kind of stuff carries on? I can see some fans saying enough is enough. What's everyone's thoughts.

11 Feb 2017 10:26:47
Well Dave king doesn't trust him with money

11 Feb 2017 10:48:22
You kidding mate, we have no money and if you think for a second the 30 million king was talking about was for the first team then you need a reality check.

11 Feb 2017 11:54:48
'Dave king doesn't trust him with money'

No one with any sense trusts Dave King anymore.

PS. Remember he promised transparency at Ibrox? Where is the transparency today?

11 Feb 2017 09:55:43
I would like to apologise for all the time I have been on here arguing the defence of MW and DW. It has always been my belief that we are the mighty Glasgow rangers we do not behave like we need to stand by our own especially after everything we had went through and when you go back and think about the time when real ibrox legend jock Wallace was man handled out by security that was something that stuck in the throat.

So when the manager and so called leader plans to jump ship to a smaller club then it just shows that he does not have the same loyalty that a lot of fans bestowed on him as for David Weir very disappointing.

They now say they are turning up to take training well if jock Wallace had security throw him out unnecessarily then we should probably set dogs on these clowns. Emptying their lockers are the only things they should be allowed to do and to any future employers managers must lead by example, loyalty and commitment should be the first examples.

Frank mcpartland well good riddance, Warburton did better work with his signings so was it his aim to waste money we don't have from his wage to his signings you really went for it wasting cash you certainly lived off finding Steven Gerrard as if that guy wouldn't have been found.

Let's get someone in who wants to be manager of our great club and see what he can get out of our players who have proved before that they can beat celtic everyone raved about the way holt and halliday dealt with peanut head let's try and find that in these players even if they go let's make them worth some decent cash.

11 Feb 2017 10:31:25
Gary 75, i'm exactly the same as i continued to stick up for warburton but not anymore! So I also apologise to all other bears on here in getting into spats with you over warburton!

11 Feb 2017 11:24:53
Boys no need to apologise - we all want the same thing the question is we have different levels of patience.

We want a winning Rangers team - players and management who want to be at the Club.

Remember lots of players and managers can raise their game to play against us - the question is can are they going enough to play for us?

Excited about the future for us

11 Feb 2017 11:48:16
I'm more disappointed with davie weir to be honest. Poor from both of them but thought big weir was a big gers man.

11 Feb 2017 13:06:12
we all want the best for our club. Seem to keep saying this but the next few months will be crucial. A period of stability until summer then push on again

11 Feb 2017 09:20:10
Regarding the situion with warburton
you could tell for weeks that he was out his deph and had no clue how to sort it.

In my opinion the club has to get a top name manager in like frank deboer micheal laurdrup or hein vanhaezebrouck.

and either let them sign the players they want or get a director of football in charge to do this for them.

what is ovibous is that rangers need to seriuosly invest in there scouting network
as this has been left to 1 man previously

11 Feb 2017 09:19:27
Everyone jumping the gun a little. The rangers job is not like our jobs where you get paid off and they let you work till the end of the week

Why did they take training and do the press conference yesterday if they had resigned earlier in the week?

11 Feb 2017 10:35:07
Lance, like everything at Rangers just now it doesn't seem to make any sense to me either the way this shambles has been dealt with.

11 Feb 2017 10:36:49
Someone has been silly;
Warburton if he handed in e before having the NF job offer

RFC if they have no formal notice that he was leaving

Hope its not us.

BTW its not the first time Weir has dishonoured us, he managed the Naismith situation from behind the curtains when the crap first started

11 Feb 2017 10:47:49
Lance, keep up. They wanted to resign as they thought they had the forest job, they told the board this. The board agreed this. The forest job fell through, so the board had a meeting yesterday to discuss this, they decided to accept the resignations as it was clear that mw and co were not committed to the club.

11 Feb 2017 12:16:40
Coldo u say keep up but your information is coming from the sun or dr, like lance said don't jump the gun.

11 Feb 2017 11:13:55
Those would seem to be the facts to date. Can't do that kind of thing in any employ never mind as a high profile football management team. Don't always say this but a big well done to the board for sticking to their guns. We need people who want to be at our great club and not use us as a fall back when plans go awry.

I don't think it will happen but I'd love to see Walter return until the end of the season and secure second spot. Alex McLeish would be my next port of call if Walter decides against it. The big man is well respected in football and has seen it and done it. The 2 helicopter Sundays in 2003 and especially 2005 will live with me forever.

11 Feb 2017 14:19:46
Good point, Jack Union, people forget that Weir orchestrated the Naismith move to Everton. That was about the only thing he did there, he was a rotten coach and failed miserably when he attempted management.

He gave Warburton less than no support at Rangers, he failed to instil any passion in the players and gave no help to Wallace to help develop his leadership qualities as captain.

11 Feb 2017 09:01:32
I'm praying that rangers don't offer the job to Billy Davies. I don't like the guy one bit and I think we could do far far better. That's even if Warburton has resigned that is :-)

11 Feb 2017 12:19:19
Aye Yogi. Davies has talent, no doubt, but also unwanted baggage that has been well documented in the press. That's the last thing we need after the roller coaster ride we have been on in recent times. Wouldn't be unhappy to see somebody like Gio or FDB in charge in the summer with either Walter or Alex McLeish in charge for the remainder of this season

11 Feb 2017 14:22:49
Couldn't agree more Yogibear 72, for me we really would be dredging the sewer if we brought that guy in. I don't particularly rate him as a manager but given his association with the likes of Tommy Sheridan it would make us even more of a laughing stock than we have been recently!

11 Feb 2017 07:54:32
A week ago there was some sympathy for warburton because he hadn't had the funds to get better players. Now it's good rideness because their are stories he was angling for the forest job. I'm not sure you can blame the guy for looking for another job when all the signs were he was getting sacked anyway, the supporters, media and board all on his back.

I think he has made mistakes for me his comments in the media haven't helped. I think this comes from a man who was frustrated with the lack of backing he had had from his board and obviously feeling the pressure. If I was his position I would probably feel I was fighting a losing battle.

I bet the board can't believe their luck. They can now say they didn't have a committed management team and it was them who walked away. I think the fact that there has been no transparency from DK is a joke it's like having one of those faceless overseas owners. The truth no matter how bad it is is better than stringing along supporters buying season tickets. £30 million he said he would invest where is it? What is the strategy?

My shout for next manager would be M O'Neil or T wright. Not convinced Mcleish would be a good idea we wanted him out in the end remember? What was it 10/ 11 games in a row without a win and we had a better team then.

11 Feb 2017 09:14:27
M O'Neill is one of the better shouts in my opinion. Would much prefer him than mcinnes, Davies etc. He has worked wonders for Northern Ireland and I believe he lives in Scotland and would be a good shout.

11 Feb 2017 14:26:53
We would have to pay £1m in compensation for O'Neill and I am not convinced that he would be as successful as a club manager as he has been with Northern Ireland.
It is not an easy decision as to who we bring in next. Whoever it is will need to be given serious financial backing and it will be interesting to see whether we get anything other than more bullshit from Dave King!

11 Feb 2017 02:41:35
Kiernan, Forrester, foderingham, Wilson, holt a lot of these players just aren't rangers class English league 1or 2 at best. a rated Wilson watched him make his champions LG debut at 17 in champions league. wot a performance that was. now that he's back at us he just looks slow and he cannot be bothered tackling, he looked really good at hearts but soon as we signed him back he's a shocking defender.

11 Feb 2017 06:14:09
You didn't mention the worst player there in Halliday? Why would you not mention him holt is a lot better than him

Need to disagree with Foderingham there mate, may not be a Klos or a Goram but he's saved us numerous times single handedly this season. Spot on with there's a lot of players stealing a living from us though, many not up to the task.

11 Feb 2017 08:25:34
Big Wes is fantastic and saved us a good 20 points already this season to say he's no rangers class is absurd. Get a grip

11 Feb 2017 08:40:55
I hope we go for Wagner of huddssfield he not had much money but gets his players playing with a bit of passion, which we don't have especially in our so called captain

11 Feb 2017 09:11:34
I must be watching different Rangers team. Wes has cost us 5 or 6 goals this season by playing the ball out about 20 yards to defenders who are being closed down. As Goram used to say the best keeper is not the one who makes the flashy saves, it's the one who makes fewest mistakes.
And before you all start that this how the manager wants him to play. NO it isn't, no manager wants to invite pressure by passing to someone whose being shut down.

11 Feb 2017 09:31:17
Most of these guys aren't Rangers class. Agreed. But I'd better on a new manager with bigger balls getting a lot more out of them. Can any of you picture Warbs rollocking the squad? We need to find more quality but more than that we need steel and character.
We need to be recognisably Rangers.

11 Feb 2017 10:18:20
Foderingham is a very good goalkeeper, Wilson our best defender and Jason Holt is a fine player. What about Kenny miller who has forgetting how to be a striker? Or wallace who can't tackle? Or tavernier who everybody on here stuck up for last year when I said he's not good enough but everyone defended him because he had "12 goals".

People are just listening to the media trying to blame the keeper when he's been very good. The players like miller, wallace and hill seem to escape criticism when they have been absolutely woeful.

11 Feb 2017 10:21:38
Might see different strengths in these players in a different formation. wouldn't write them all off just yet!

11 Feb 2017 10:47:34
Aye very good Cee because I don't share your opinion on the goalie I've obtained my views from the media. Have you not seen him throwing the ball out to Kiernan and Halliday when the oppositions forwards are right on top of them. I think he contributes to a goal against every two or three games.

No one is saying he is the only one who is culpable. I think Tav and Kiernan are hopeless, Wallace is the most overrated player ever to wear the shirt although he has been improving recently. And finally McKay had three or four good games and all of a sudden he's a world beater. None of them are good enuf for Rangers but to say Wes is blameless is idiotic.

11 Feb 2017 10:50:27
The players might just turn out to be better than we think with a new manager.

11 Feb 2017 10:51:05
Am I not correct in saying that the warburton 433 system is getting played from the academy upwards, was that not 1 of the 1st things he implemented when he arrived? hopefully we can mix it up a bit differently and maybe just maybe this might not be as bad as it looks.

11 Feb 2017 14:31:56
Too many people still have the blue tinted specs on when it comes to Halliday. He has been like a man down all season, should be no where near the team and was still getting a game. His fall out with Barton that resulted in the latter leaving the club did not bode well for Warburton and given the choice I would rather have stuck with Barton.

We have the opportunity now to bring in a quality management team and see some of King's magic millions. At least by the end of this latest farce we will have a good idea whether King is anything other than a man of straw!

11 Feb 2017 00:12:26
Job to big, ideas

Was always going to happen, after Hearts result. Time to move on and see what the next instalment has in store. They won't get 10 in a row and we will get stronger.

I remember being at Ibrox watching a reserve game and Cooper coming off at the end being told by us that the first team were being humpted 3 - 1 by Dundee.

We forget it's been worse.

11 Feb 2017 00:52:58
Listen if the Aberdeen were the best challengers to celtic last year Now they even more points behind than ever don't you think McInnes should be sacked first especially with a premier league squad

11 Feb 2017 02:10:51
Aberdeen have aged and faded imo. Haven't freshened up. Still in there and are a few signings away from where they might of been. Next games. Hearts I'd say watch them bears. Not this campaign but next. Don't give an underdog the scent of blood. Too late imo. Let this one go.

11 Feb 2017 08:32:28
Can you blame the magic hat. He knows his level and our Brendan is so superior to him or any manager you will attract that it's a pointless exercise trying to win the SPL from us. 10 in a row will happen and it could be a lot more. You lot will be in the darkness for several more years.

11 Feb 2017 09:44:52
Your rodgers will be off like a shot after next season when the premier league comes calling again. 3 years is a long time in football look at your last manager only last season.

11 Feb 2017 09:59:31
Guess we may as well pack it in then Dafabet, and as its pointless trying to win, take the rest of the league with us and let you play with yourselves. You should be good at that with all the practice you get.

11 Feb 2017 10:17:45
At least Kiernan hasn't left, I can see that lad fetching us at least 20 million quid when a big club comes for him in a year or two. Huge potential to fulfill.

11 Feb 2017 10:19:22
Mcinnes has bottled the whole way he played. He has changed his tactics to a rugby team when he plays us and Celtic whereas we don't change our tactics at all when we need to.

11 Feb 2017 10:35:37
3 years maximum is probably about right for a top manager in this league because let's face it it's not a great league is it, and I'm sure big Brenda won't be any different because it's like that up here when either Rangers or Celtic are winning and everything is rosey it's is probably the best job in the world and quite rightly so but on the other hand when the going gets tough. we'll, just look at Warburton

10 Feb 2017 23:57:51
If this is true We need total honesty from the board Will funds be available to the new management team or is the past two years been a total waste of time The past team did try to improve our style of play but were too stubborn to admit any problems or try plan B.

I don't believe all the players are poor the system was wrong too many times. Thanks for trying and all the best for the future It's now the time to get behind the team no matter what.

11 Feb 2017 02:28:59
I will refrain from wishing them good luck if what we are being told is correct. That, as far back as the day of the Hearts game they had made up their mind to leave 'en bloc' to move to Nottingham Forrest provided they could do a deal that meant Rangers would not receive any compensation!

No wonder we played so poorly in the two games that followed and no wonder there was no new contract discussions.

The fact that the Board agreed to this suggests, quite correctly, that they did not want a management team that basically wanted to be else where!

Ho naive could the three of them be or indeed their Agent, to think that they could then return, as though nothing had happened, when the Forrest job fell through, at least until the summer. So much for loyalty, especially from Weir who we should have expected more from.

11 Feb 2017 10:28:15
Tomusa, people will never know what is going on behind the scene at Rangers. Think its clear there is no direction from King and co. If you are rebuilding a football club that has been as poorly run as Rangers you can't do it from Africa.

You need to get your feet under the desk and work with the management team. Does anyone think King is going to give a new manager £10 million or so to spend on players when he is in an office 5000 miles away? Its crazy.

King has got Rangers, but has no clue as to what to do with it. He needs to appoint a permanent manager now because there should be europa league qualifiers coming up in june so he needs to invest in players and have a manager in place.

But what he will do is appoint McLeish till end of season. King will do as little as possible till all the court cases are resolved and Ashley deal is terminated so that's about 4 years away. Now there may be a further court case with Warburton and co? You could not make it up

10 Feb 2017 23:48:15
Oh well Graeme Murty as caretaker manager on Sunday. As long as he doesn't play 4-3-3 with two attacking wing backs who can't defend to save their life and drive forward at every oportunity leaving our 38 year old defender and whoever he's been paired with exposed time and again with no decent DM covering. I'll be happy. What absolutely ridiculous tactics honestly. So easy to play against. And Warbs just would not change it. I think he deserved the sack for that fact alone if nothing else!

11 Feb 2017 00:25:34
Derek adams ha ha. No way. Have you ever seen the football ross played under him. The most negitive kaka ever.

Billy Davis would possibly be the only worst choice. I'd rather my wife be teamed by him and tommy S. Oh wait that already might be a possibility.

11 Feb 2017 02:32:33
Whoever comes in next, god forbid that it should be Davies. Our standards might not be very high right now but bringing Davies to Rangers would really be dredging the gutter!

Who would he have as his Assistant Manager, Tommy Sheridan!, the thought of Davies anywhere near Rangers fills me with dread.

11 Feb 2017 10:22:34
Frank de boer, Stephen Kenny, Karl Robinson, and obviously mcleish and crew are the ages I've heard mentioned but I'm sure the board will take their time and try get the right appointment.
