Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

11 Aug 2020 22:09:23
Nothing great I was just singing the bananarama song.

11 Aug 2020 22:08:52
I heard a rumour.

11 Aug 2020 13:25:02
Rangers to go 8 points top by next Monday.

11 Aug 2020 20:18:51
They can go 11 before celtic play next.

11 Aug 2020 21:26:46
I think every Rangers supporter will agree that the next 3 games are going to determine how much of a gauntlet that we are going to put down for the season ahead to stop 10.Lets see if they can handle the pressure. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🥇🥇🌈🌈.

11 Aug 2020 21:42:46
Let’s see if we can win the 3 games, don’t want egg on your face.

11 Aug 2020 21:48:10
Absolutely no excuses for dropping points. Have to pounce on every advantage.

11 Aug 2020 22:13:08
We need to win the games first. They will be docked points.

11 Aug 2020 22:37:01
Lets pile up the Points - much better than games in hand. Put down a marker.

11 Aug 2020 23:10:35
Absolutely bankie.

12 Aug 2020 04:31:12
Mee they won't get points docked.

12 Aug 2020 07:13:05
Let’s take one game at a time and hopefully 3pts tonight v St Johnstone.

12 Aug 2020 07:29:37
The next game is the one we have to focus on, Hibs are right up there this season, I honestly believe they will be a huge threat this season, I agree that we have to take full advantage of Celtics games being off.

12 Aug 2020 07:41:59
agree copland / irvger let’s just focus on st john first

oldest cliché in book but we need to take it 1 game at a time

looking ahead to livi or possibly 11pt lead is daft - get job done tonight

i’d take scrappy 1-0 every wk lads.

12 Aug 2020 09:35:17
We need to concentrate tonight we have only beat St. Johnstone twice in their last six visits to ibrox.

12 Aug 2020 12:26:57
You forgot to put the word "could" guys.

Wont be long before stories will be rife that our players have done same as Sheep and Tim players .

Nothing surer we know tim supporters inside out.

11 Aug 2020 13:16:04
Am I right in thinking that if a club can't fulfill its fixture then the other team is awarded the points by virtue of a 3-0 win?
It could and must be argued that this is the case in both the sheep and the tics cases. These games were called off because those respective clubs weren't able to play.
Just apply good old common sense and rules and that's the outcome, never mind it's C.V. related, the outcome should be the same.
Unable to fulfill fixtures, award the win etc to the other team.

11 Aug 2020 20:07:14
And if Rangers suffer from similar player stupidity would you still call for that when we couldn’t fulfil our fixtures?

Not sure if the detail of the rule but my understanding is that they could play but have been ordered not to.

Aberdeen’s was stupid. Celtic’s* is barely believable. I wonder how many players from other teams including our own are praying for their own indiscretions to go unnoticed.

11 Aug 2020 19:43:33
Don't want celtic to have points deducted or the season called early, win it with no room for any complaints from anyone.

11 Aug 2020 20:14:42
Totally agree with that.

11 Aug 2020 20:31:21
I'll be honest, I don't care how we win it as long as we do. If it means we win it as a result of them being deducted points then so be it.

11 Aug 2020 21:05:51
I’d still like them to have points dedicated tho we need to win the league this year by any means so points deducted for them certainly wouldn’t bother me as long as we won I’ll be happy with that lol.

11 Aug 2020 21:43:14
Call the league next week when were 8 clear 👍.

11 Aug 2020 21:57:39
Win it anyway possible. Board room won nine for them. Was not won on the park. Season was not completed.

12 Aug 2020 05:46:42
They took christ knows how many meaningless leagues in our absence for meaningless 9IAR so take anything down to their stupidity. Don't care how we win this league just show Gers back.

11 Aug 2020 19:33:40
Think spfl will now put punishments in place for future breaches.

Doubt very much if it would be retrospective.

11 Aug 2020 19:30:17
Charlie Allen signs for Leeds, pity great player.

11 Aug 2020 20:19:02
Just another wee laddie with some potential, who has a long, long way to go before he can be styled a great player, John.

11 Aug 2020 21:05:26
Ok Covenanter, a great young player, he would have been an asset.

11 Aug 2020 18:42:53
Evening my fellow blue noses. Celtic and Aberdeen should have points deducted for their players not following the protocol in my opinion, totally unacceptable they are not just putting the premier league clubs in danger but what about all the lower league teams if the season is interrupted.

On another note the next time that lot play Rangers could b 11 points ahead of them.

11 Aug 2020 19:23:18
Could. let's not lose focus and try put as much pressure on them as possible. don't agree with deducting points, purely because it could very well be one of are players next.

11 Aug 2020 19:46:12
I'd cool the jets on point deductions, word on the street is Bassey attended a big house party at the weekend.

11 Aug 2020 20:12:12
Sir walter seen someone else say that along with frimpong.

11 Aug 2020 20:21:18
Careful sir Walter. Timalloy will be getting 10,000 emails prepped and sent if he sees your post.

11 Aug 2020 20:35:01
Or maybe, SirWalter, the word on the street is that the tims have put out this lie to try to deflect from their own situation. Why are we always so quick to point fingers at our own, rumour or no rumour? Unlike almost every other club's fans (including the mhankies) we are so keen to condemn it's embarrassing.

11 Aug 2020 23:03:09
I would think that's the more likely story Covenanter.

11 Aug 2020 18:22:54
Celtic and Aberdeen’s next 2 fixtures are postponed chance to take a 8 point lead I know they’ll have the games in hand but we all know it’s better to have points in the bag💪🏼.

11 Aug 2020 18:02:48
I can't help but think that if any of our players had done what the Celtic lad did in relation to the breach of lockdown rules; we would have had a tax case brought against us and been dropped three divisions, possibly also pursued for not paying for our facemasks by the local newsagent. I could be wrong but I see that a warning has been issued to all teams (probably with the exception of Celtic and Aberdeen 😂😂, because somehow Rangers must be at fault here)

11 Aug 2020 19:42:01
Oh dear bsmate, you do realise you've opened yourself up for a serious coldo "conspiracy" ticking off 👍.

11 Aug 2020 20:53:01
Correct, the Boss Caldo will not on your case and you are in for it and don’t have an opinion 🤔🤭👍👍.

11 Aug 2020 21:18:22
Seeker and yately01 I only just joined lads, someone enlighten me?, I don't understand your comments.

11 Aug 2020 22:11:42
He doesn’t believe that Doncaster and Liewell would tuck our club up for anything bud✌️🇬🇧.

11 Aug 2020 23:22:50
Coldo is under the impression there is no corruption within the corridor of power in Scottish football and likes to refer to it from time to time.

11 Aug 2020 17:30:46
i can definitely see celtic and aberdeen having both games void and punished if the shoe was on the other foot we would have lost the points .

11 Aug 2020 15:37:48
Celtic and Aberdeen have had their next two games called off, no thanks to the SFA or SPFL but by Nicola Sturgeon. I'm not Sturgeon's biggest fan but she is very direct, clear and honest in what she says and does. A pity our footballing authorities couldn't have shown the lead and postponed these games themselves. I'm not getting smug here, this could have been a Rangers player. Funny how Celtic claim they didn't know one of their highly-paid players jetted off to Spain after the season had started? Surely they must have known? Also, no further mention of Muppet Griffiths' party for his girlfriend that was attended mob-handed. True, we can be 8 points ahead of Celtic after Sunday but I'd rather we didn't have this hanging over our game. If some other of these idiotic players do the same in the next few weeks the season may well end early. If so, I bet it won't be the same outcome as last season!

11 Aug 2020 19:26:58
We play 3 times b4 celtic play again.

11 Aug 2020 20:05:29
Doiger you said sturgeon and honest in the same sentence! 😯.

11 Aug 2020 23:27:00
Doiger, I also find it hard to believe they weren't aware of this until the story broke after the Kilmarnock match. I think they assumed they were going to get away with it and then hung him out to dry. Genuinely believe they didn't sanction the trip, mind you. That would have been crass and stupid. Then again.

11 Aug 2020 16:16:02
I have a question for you guys.

If rangers win their next 3 fixtures we could be 11 points clear before celtic kick a ball again. This puts real pressure on Celtic to get a win in all games.

But what if at that point the league season is halted due to C.V. and no reasonable time frame to restart would they close the season off to the league leader declared winner since the precedence was set last year? Even if it wasnt us at the top i'd be happy for Hibs to win it if it meant an end to the Celtic 10 haha.

11 Aug 2020 23:28:58
Don't know for certain but I would have thought we would have to have been much further into the season for any decision like that to be taken.

11 Aug 2020 15:54:44
Hi fellow bears. First time poster here, however i have read these pages for many years. Given the new additions to the squad, who do we believe is now surplus to requirements? For me i can't see much game time for Stewart, Jones, Docherty or Murphy. I also believe McCrorie may be loaned out for another season. I don't necessarily think these players are bad i just think we are looking at more quality for our title challenge this year. Thoughts?

11 Aug 2020 15:29:33
On the bolongoli issue

Just read reports there that all premier league mangers and captains had a zoom call last night with governing body

And any more C.v. rules veiled they will call a half to the season

Anyone think what the disastrous consequences would come of that for a whole host of teams possibly even our own even though no one at our club as yet has broken any rules.
Clubs would certainly go to the wall if the season was cancelled for another year.

If that is what is being said and I'm reading it correctly?

Players and clubs are walking tightrope just now and every club needs to let its own players know rules can't be broken.

Whole thing is a nightmare could even be out of your own hands because someone else at another club continue to break rules.

Something else needs to be in place.

12 Aug 2020 07:37:49
I can't see them calling the league TBH, it's too early in, and, according to International News yesterday, it appears that Russia may have a vaccine, let's hope this is true, not for football, but to save lives.

11 Aug 2020 14:56:02
Now's the time for Rangers to lay down an early marker.
Let's see what Celtic are made of with the fixture congestion that comes out of their own player stupidity.

11 Aug 2020 14:48:22
Sky TV extremely unhappy, rescheduling TV games could negatively impact media value of Scottish Football.

11 Aug 2020 23:30:14
It certainly won't help, that's for sure.

12 Aug 2020 07:39:16
Sky will just have to suck it up, they've shafted Scottish Football for years. and are probably still doing it.

11 Aug 2020 14:21:02
Not a rumour, just a question, if Celtic/ Aberdeen need permission to start playing again, and the permission is denied, what would happen with the Celtic champions league qualifier early next week? forfeit match and no European football for them?

11 Aug 2020 19:28:49
Apparently there euro game confirmed going ahead.

11 Aug 2020 14:11:43
Good to hear that Gerrard saying he is very happy with our current squad and would like to add one more midfielder. Hopefully get someone in soon with a bit of dig and not scared to go on a run and attack.

11 Aug 2020 14:05:02
If the league was to be ‘paused’ then it surely suggests there will be some form of penalty for Aberdeen and Celtic? What that will look like I don’t know but they can’t possibly pause the league with them accountable, and not punish them.

I’ve got a feeling the ‘no harm no foul’ approach will be taken by the SPFL. Playing stupidity on Aberdeen’s part, and a caution for Celtic on Bangoli.

As much as I want the league to continue. St Johnstone already have a fitter team against us tomorrow having not played the sheep on Saturday. Might sound petty, but little differences that seem insignificant now could ultimately be a big factor come the end of the season.

Total farce. Action needs to be taken quickly for guilty parties. We desperately need guidelines on what should happen to players/ clubs that break the rules. In house investigations tell me nothing. Some people clearly think they are above the law because they can kick a baw.

11 Aug 2020 23:31:52
Ti be honest if we can't beat St J just now we really should worry as they are honking.

11 Aug 2020 13:39:07
Spoke last week how I ordered mine and the boys strip 6 weeks ago and still hadn't received the tops from Castore. Emailed them and they have just got back to me giving me a refund as they have ran out of stock! 😡 Checked the website today and unless you want a goalkeepers top you are wasting your time going into the shop! Castore get your fingers out and you obviously don't understand how big a club we are🇬🇧🇬🇧.

11 Aug 2020 12:52:27
looking like we may have 3 very decent strikers now this is more like it you stop giving a 100% commitment --transfers just don't happen lesson learned alfredo hopefully whilst you are still a rangers player 100% is expected. so cheer up and get on with it.

11 Aug 2020 13:33:23
One struggles with even committing himself to playing for a full season unfortunately.

11 Aug 2020 13:41:22
If he gets himself in better shape and match sharp then he will score goals and get his move. Everyone’s a winner if he knuckles down. Personally I think he will go in this window.

11 Aug 2020 15:02:38
It's a win / win situation.
Whilst he is here and plays he scores the goals to help the team.
At the same time he scores the goals to get himself the move he craves earning Rangers a fortune.

I'd personally prefer he stayed one more season.
With Itten and Roofe as back up, we'd have more options and destroy teams this season. 👍.

11 Aug 2020 15:51:14
Deeper we have four top strikers.

11 Aug 2020 16:07:06
Hope our star ⭐ striker alfredo morelos now gets the head down and stays with us at least this season and leaves every chance a league winner 👍 Common alfredo stay and shoot as to the league title and leave a legend 👌.

11 Aug 2020 16:59:40
Which of our 4 (Morelos, Defoe, Itten, Roofe) isn’t decent?

11 Aug 2020 13:13:05
Plus Defoe to come back in couple of weeks.

12 Aug 2020 07:42:25
Itten and Roofe will not be backups to Alfie, they will feature quite a lot I think, we didn't pay that money for bench warmers.

11 Aug 2020 12:41:36
I see Celtic, Aberdeen mb killie can't play for seven days.
We r going to see league halted for a while.

11 Aug 2020 12:46:58
cancel and make us and hibs joint winners --#55 -eazy peazy.

11 Aug 2020 12:51:08
Looks like it. Also we must take full advantage of this. Chance to put early pressure on and go 8 points clear of them.

11 Aug 2020 13:37:18
It'll be all rangers fault of course.

11 Aug 2020 13:47:09
If powers that be Don’t postpone next 2 sheep and Celtic mob games they should hang their heads in shame! But it wouldn’t surprise me if they stop all games on the 14 day period 😱😱 but
If they do ban their games we MUST. Get max points from games we play and pile pressure on them just think potentially we could be 7 clear of them before they play again 🇬🇧.

11 Aug 2020 14:55:22
The wee pitbull in a 2 piece says it's football's final warning. Surley if a clubs breaking C.V. rules and can't fulfil fixtures the shoupd forfeit the game, ie 3 pts to st mirren and s 0v0 for sheep v tims as there both st fault, If rangers players were in the pub or Spain I reckon the points would already of disappeared from our tally.

8pts clear by weekend they have a backlog of games to fulfil amongst Euro qualifiers oh how funny this is. If were 11pts clear by Xmas and C.V. brings us to a halt will they give us out title.

11 Aug 2020 15:04:06
I don’t know how this campaign is going to go now
Guys

If they keep postponing games - what happens when we come to near end of season and we have OST teams still to play another let’s say 8-10 games because of games been postponed during the whole season

Will they cancel league again and give it to who’s at the top

I could bloody well see it happening especially if Celtic at top

We better make sure as a club we stay top this season to cover all avenues

Harder said than done I know

But I can see this campaign been ended without all games been played now?

11 Aug 2020 15:09:12
I don’t think the rest of the league should be punished for Celtic and Aberdeen players stupidity.
They should forfeit the points.

11 Aug 2020 16:44:26
Boli. bet . pmsl.

11 Aug 2020 17:03:45
Can go 11 clear before they play again.

11 Aug 2020 17:26:12
DC hibs would win better goal difference as they have scored more as well.

11 Aug 2020 17:49:39
:

Celtic to be awarded 9-0 win for all postponed games.

It's only fair.

11 Aug 2020 13:08:41
Liewell Donkeyaster and the rest of the corrupt spfl mafia will be in a panic. Awesome opportunity to lay down a marker and go 8 points clear and put the pressure on while they are barred from playing. 2 wins from next 2 is crucial. no excuses. players need to deliver.

12 Aug 2020 12:25:28
The cancellation of games will have significant financial implications. For example the Celtic game was supposed to be on Sky tomorrow but the cost of the Sky cameras being moved to another ground will be incurred. Also you will have companies who have paid for adverts before, half time and after the game expecting a certain audience to be watching.

These companies will potentially be looking for discounts on what they have paid Sky for the advertising. Sky would have every right to deduct these costs from whatever they pay the SPL and in turn these costs should be forwarded for Celtic to pay in this instance. Seems like a logical punishment to me and the same would go for Aberdeen. Maybe my mind works too simply but that's the way I see it.

11 Aug 2020 12:37:20
First Minister states that as minimum neither Celtic or Aberdeen will be allowed to play football for at least the next week.

11 Aug 2020 14:16:13
So there was talk about the sheep forfeiting their matches due to stupidity with 8 positive tests. If the celtic also have to forefeit can both get a 3-0 loss for next Saturday when they are due to play each other. Both deserve to be penalised.

11 Aug 2020 14:21:33
Surprised Killie being allowed as Bolingoli played part of game.

11 Aug 2020 15:09:06
If they can’t play their CL tie next week their opponents will be awarded the tie.

11 Aug 2020 17:07:08
Celtic should kick Bolingoli out of their club.

Not that he would be much of a miss to them.

11 Aug 2020 19:10:30
He who here’s they r saying Europe tie not at risk.

11 Aug 2020 12:31:17
What do you guys think of the bolingoli situation?
Personally i think celtic should be punished severely for this, and bolingoli should be sacked by celtic for breaking the club rules, also he should be fined the mandatory £480 by the govt for breaking the travel isolation rules and his work visa revoked and deported.

11 Aug 2020 12:37:45
Good Rangers banter.

11 Aug 2020 13:37:30
We are better than that. let’s concentrate on ourselves and get our job done by winning games. Let’s concentrate on us and not turn into them by talking about the other lot constantly. ♥️🤍💙.

11 Aug 2020 14:28:04
i think the guys a complete selfish tool for putting the health of everyone and our league in jeopardy and only cares about himself and wouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked and good riddance if he does.

11 Aug 2020 14:44:58
Celtics worst punishment would be getting to keep him, he's hopeless 👍.

11 Aug 2020 14:57:21
How is what allyboy saying banter, the guy has seriously broke the rules, points deductions should be imminent and his p45 along with a fine.

11 Aug 2020 15:10:25
No, he’s rank rotten. Celtic should be made to offer him a 10 year contract on treble his wages. 😂.

11 Aug 2020 17:26:51
Utter BS I never heard you saying anything about the sheep players.

11 Aug 2020 18:26:42
Lennon says bolinfolly unlikely to play for Celtic again. Which should be the case. He should be sacked. Always an easy decision when the player is rotten. If Edouard had done the same I wonder whether the same would have happened.

11 Aug 2020 18:42:59
Allyboy1976, I like it, sounds like you are totally impartial with regard to this situation 😂😂😂. I think we should send him to a concentration camp in North Korea and chop off his hands. I would like to subscribe to your news letter because I firmly believe that with you in charge C.V. would soon be eliminated, and we wouldn't have all these issues with migrants 👍🙂.

11 Aug 2020 13:03:09
I would personally make him have to play every game for Celtic - that will teach them!

12 Aug 2020 07:50:25
Never forget guys how quickly they ALL apart from Killie at the time, tried to kill us off in 2012, I couldn't care less what happens to any of them, I just want us to conform 100% to the procedures, and stay safe.

11 Aug 2020 12:21:59
Club brian laudrup
National gheorge hagi.

11 Aug 2020 16:37:25
Club-Trevor Steven
National-Enzo Scifo.

11 Aug 2020 11:14:10
First time poster.

What should be the protocol in disciplining clubs/ players on breaking govt rules surrounding C.V.? 2 games in and we’ve already seen violation of rules from 2 clubs.

Other clubs will ultimately suffer because of this whether that’s having games rescheduled or teams not playing their strongest 11.

I don’t understand how there is no clarity from anyone on this going forward. It’s definitely not the last time C.V. will interrupt our 55 season

Team: Ally
International: Dodds.

11 Aug 2020 11:27:06
Agree 100% BlueGecko and have been banging on about this for a while now. Our board really have to get their act together on this and there's no excuse not to.

We need clarification ASAP rather than the SPFL making up rules on the hoof.

11 Aug 2020 11:29:18
Points deductions screw them no manners.

11 Aug 2020 11:33:23
Welcome blue gecko and I think we should hand out severe penalties to Aberdeen and Celtic.

11 Aug 2020 11:43:21
Instead of rushing into the new season in their quest to help Celtic to their mythical 10IAR, the SPFL and SFA should have put rules and regulations in place to stop these incidents from occurring.
Footballers are in a privileged position of being able to participate in a team sport. The least they can do is obey the rules like the rest of us away from the clubs.

11 Aug 2020 12:02:32
Welcome mate.
Problem is this is unprecedented and is being 'made up' as we go along. By that I mean that not every scenario has been thought of and a solution or penalty applied to that scenario. Therefore when some eejit decides to go off on their jollies there isn't something somewhere that can be referred to and then the correct tariff applied.
For example, if we don't go into work there is a company handbook which tells our employer what to do. Not so here.
I don't know what the answer is, but there must be penalties applied and it must be fair.
In the case of Aberdeen the team they were due to play got sweet fa out of it all, yet their next 2 fixtures will be played with a weakened team, so indirectly those teams benefit. Hardly seems fair but as I said, it's being made up as we go along.

11 Aug 2020 12:06:07
It's simple if they don't have enough players to play a league game because of positive test or isolation then they forfeit the game 3.0.

11 Aug 2020 12:06:26
Do we really expect the corrupt-to-the-core SFA and SPFL to put rules in place that might damage their beloved Celtic? Imagine the noise if that had been a couple of Rangers players. Lawell will ensure that nothing happens to the unwashed. Their problem is that if they punish Aberdeen they would HAVE TO punish Celtic too.

11 Aug 2020 12:14:31
I agree that there should be a set of rules for this, be careful though, Rangers, Dundee United, and Hibs got away with the first breaches with the pre-season games. If rules come out they will start from then.

11 Aug 2020 13:33:45
We all heard the noise from the Hollicom lead media over the 2 pre season friendlies that Rangers were involved in regarding testing.

11 Aug 2020 13:57:14
it doesn't matter if Rangers Dundee United or Hibs get retrospective penalties or not, we cannot just change rules to make sure it doesn't affect us. it is unforgivable that any player doesn't make themselves available per their contract. if they then bring the game into disrepute then there is already penalties for this. the game should go ahead, if the offending team can't play or has to field a weakened team then that's their fault, noone else. the alternative is to stop the league, then who is the losers, certainly not the offending team.

11 Aug 2020 15:48:25
Which breaches were these?

11 Aug 2020 10:19:25
question to all my fellow bears with MyGers membership. have you all received your welcome pack? i got membership for me and my daughter but haven't received anything yet.

11 Aug 2020 11:02:12
Yes but it took over a month to arrive mate.

11 Aug 2020 11:44:54
Not got mine mate.

11 Aug 2020 12:13:22
I received MyGers pack well over a month ago. You should email the club.

11 Aug 2020 13:45:18
I got mine within a week or so.

i was a bit late in requesting it but did get it middle July. have sent a little reminder to the club and see if i get a response. i thought it would have been almost automatically despatched as soon as they got the payment.

11 Aug 2020 18:27:30
Silly silly Bhoy. This should be a warning to players and staff of all clubs thinking of breaking the rules. His career at Celtic in ruins. If Celtic don't play we need to win. Put the pressure on them right from the start. Massive season ahead. Let's Go.

11 Aug 2020 10:11:25
So the football might be shut down again.
As per the precedent set last season, does this mean the title will be awarded via a zoom meeting 3 ways this season?
Obviously tongue in cheek but stranger things and all that.

11 Aug 2020 10:39:37
Yes and Hibs will win as they are above us in the alphabet!

11 Aug 2020 10:58:17
They have more goals for doiger hopefully it doesn't get shut down until Thursday then hopefully we will be top outright.

11 Aug 2020 11:47:32
Celtic will be awarded the title as:-
1/ they have the most obsessed fans.
2/ Timalloy made the biggest arse of himself on the internet and we're only 2 weeks into the season.
3/.

There is a cracking podcast on you tube called the Blues Brothers.
Every monday night IAN DURRANT and DEREK FERGUSON well worth a watch. Last night they were on about in their early years under Souness training in Italy how they set fire to a newspaper that Trevor Francis was reading at the time. Not the most sensible thing to do but funny none the less as they both say they were just daft wee boys at the time. Pair of jokers but also cracking players.

Club - Super Ally
National Team - Romario

My dad is a Clyde FC supporter and was trying to get me to follow in his footsteps but hearing Mccoists name on the radio all the time because he scored goals and then watching the goals on Scotsport when I was too young to go to the games myself was what made me a Rangers fan. Meeting Mccoist when I was 8 years old one night at the Speedway at Shawfield also helped seal the deal for me.

Romario again was just a born goalscorer and I loved watching Brazil. He seemed to score every game.

Strange that its 2 strikers that were my heros and I ended up playing midfield. Zinedine Zidane a bit later on was a bit of a hero too.

11 Aug 2020 09:23:19
TEAM: Alan Gilzean (Dundee) Baxter (Rangers)
NATIONAL: Pele

Born in Dundee, before I was old enough to travel to see Rangers my Dad took me to Dundee's games. Gilzean was the best centre forward I have seen. Then when I was old enough to follow Gers, Slim Jim was my hero.

Pele is without equal in my view, a totally magnificent player.

Does anyone else feel that, the scottish government has to take the blame in terms of the Aberdeen players incident? I mean it was them after all that stupidly allowed the pubs to reopen already!

Surely they were only doing what everyone else has been told they are allowed to do. Why are they any different to anyone else living in the country?

Or did I miss something with the lockdown rules that stated football players are forbidden to go to pubs/ restaurants?

Listen I cannot stand that club and personally don't think pubs/ restaurants should be open the now, but in terms of rule breaking, I'm not sure I understand what they done wrong.

I get they are risking possible delaying the season, but you could put that into any walk of life. Does A group of teachers going for a drink mean all schools to shutdown again?

11 Aug 2020 09:06:27
Thats a good point Orangetinted. However, I believe (but can't be 100%) that when football was allowed back there were extra measures put in place for the players and staff of the returning clubs as a condition of the return. I think they are restricted more than the general public in what they are allowed to do ie going to pubs and restaurants etc. Like I say i'm not 100% on what their additional measures are. Obviously they are tested a couple of times a week as well and I don't think the local councils would have the resources to do that with teachers. I take your point though.

11 Aug 2020 09:11:47
how can you blame the government? they set out the guidelines which the players did not adhere to. 8 players from 8 separate households at one table not allowed simple.

11 Aug 2020 09:13:57
The crowd that went out was over the guidelines of a three household gap, also apparently there are tighter limits for footballers. Admittedly haven't seen those but is meant to be one of the conditions that the Government wanted to agree to football being allowed to restart.

11 Aug 2020 09:23:10
Yes there is different rules for footballers but also they broke the rules that apply to us all about meeting up with a large group of people from different family settings.

11 Aug 2020 09:50:43
Sorry have to disagree. Football was allowed to restart on rules strictly agreed between all clubs, the SFA and SPFL. All clubs knew these rules which somehow English teams managed to follow. There's nobody to blame other than the Aberdeen players and now Griffith's and Bolingoli.

11 Aug 2020 10:06:37
Ridiculous to blame the government. They set down guidelines and rules and it’s the responsibility of people to follow them. The comment blaming them is a classic example of people who don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions but want to blame others.

11 Aug 2020 10:21:56
Hold my hands up, didn't even think about the household threshold. Also wasnt aware that there was additional restrictions put in place for football clubs and players.

Tbh I don't agree that one human being living in a country, paying taxes etc should have different rules from another human being in that same country. Shouldnt matter their profession. However I take your points that they were above the 3 home threshold.

In terms of bolingoli and the thumb, there is no defence of that, hence why I didn't include them in original post. And that has nothing to do with the club they play for.

11 Aug 2020 10:22:02
Sturgeon opened the pubs/ restaurants gave incentives to eat cheap but apparently that’s just for us mere mortals not footballers who contribute to a larger economy! Guys in other words it’s herding imunity and we are het.

11 Aug 2020 10:41:28
If you don't want to adhere to extra rules then don't do the privileged job of being a professional footballer. The extra procedures in place are to allow football to even be allowed to restart, would you rather that everyone had the same set of rules and the footy wasn't back?

11 Aug 2020 10:42:31
This is a classic example of highly-paid footballers with very little between their ears. Idiots every one of them. This could spoil the entire season for all clubs and their fans.

11 Aug 2020 10:46:19
I really don't understand why and how the UK has managed to get it so wrong.

11 Aug 2020 11:14:45
England has got it wrong. Scotlands had a small spike in cases last few days but by snd large we've handled it well. No deaths in over 20 days there, very low new cases. Was always going to be a bit of a spike in cases with everything opening. Its trusting people not to be stupid that's the problem.

11 Aug 2020 11:15:15
I know it will be irrelevant to Bolingoli but will he be fined the £1000 for breaking quarantine rules? If i'm not mistaken that is the fine if you are found to break the 14 day quarantine rule. Maybe someone can correct me.

11 Aug 2020 11:35:13
Thanks herewego we don't get the breakdown here just read a lot on the news that the UK has handled it badly.

11 Aug 2020 12:14:30
Club = bomber Brown
International = Mattheuse.

11 Aug 2020 15:09:42
Yeah its confusing Jenkins. Saw a report the other day reporting 119 new uk deaths. 0 scotland 0 Wales 0, 119 england.

11 Aug 2020 13:07:32
Snell why is there extra rules for footballers though. They are only sportsmen. I could see the point if the extra rules applied to say, doctors, nurses, care home workers etc. People who are doing a job that is more likely to put vulnerable people at risk. I'm not for one minute saying there should be extra rules, there shouldnt. But hopefully you get my point.

Anyway enough politics, it's a football forum 👍.

11 Aug 2020 08:13:58
If the scottish government do suspend the season after bolingoli stupidity following the Aberdeen 8 I hope action is taken it can't be right that the majority of clubs are punished for the stupidity of a minority. Dock points or suspend players involved. Thoughts fellow bears.

11 Aug 2020 08:22:21
I would not be adverse to seeing celtic and the sheep docked points.

11 Aug 2020 08:28:31
Just be careful what you wish for just our luck. giv will say right from now on nwxt person to break rules loses points. step up one of us and we get hammered for it. See it a mile away.

11 Aug 2020 08:38:02
So much for Lemmon and his standard bearers quote. Just another way to be made look a fool. Disgraceful behaviour by this player, and before anyone comments, yes, I'd be exactly the same if it had been one of ours. Wouldn't have minded seeing Lennon's big red bawface when he found out, mind you.

11 Aug 2020 10:06:18
to me this is simple whether its celtic or anyone else. the current laws dictate that if a club fields an illegible player they forfeit the game and possibly are fined. this player was illegible to play that game due to having to be in lockdown for 14 days per government law.

11 Aug 2020 10:28:44
I think a new rule would simplify this.
You break the rules, you don't play. The game's go ahead without these players for the period of 2 weeks.

Yes this means that Aberdeen are without 8 players for 2 weeks and have to rely on reserves/ youths - TOUGH!

All clubs would soon have their players in line.

However Celtic should be punished differently by having to play Bolingoli in all games! :-)

11 Aug 2020 10:45:30
If any and I mean any of our players step out of line re this C.V. nightmare they deserve everything and anything coming at them, it would be beyond the realms of insanity if after the levels of scrutiny they did it
You just know certain mhedia outlets are poised at the send button if we did
PLEASE don't GIVE THEM THE CHANCE🙏🙏.

11 Aug 2020 14:39:29
The positive thing from todays conference, is that Celtic will now not get to play a weakened Aberdeen Team, that would have given them a huge goal boost, I feel anyway, so Bolingoli has well and truly stitched up Celtic, It's Killie that have been punished the most here, they did nothing wrong apart from being on the same pitch as Bolingoli.

11 Aug 2020 08:12:26
What is it with some of these so-called 'professional' footballers? First we had the Aberdeen 9, then Griffiths and now Bolingoli. They don't seem to get it do they? Now the Scottish Government appears to be contemplating pausing the football season if there are any further breaches. Thick is two short planks some of these players and I'd say the same if a Rangers player was found to have breached the rules. Bolingoli apparently flew to Spain, flew back and didn't self-quarantine then played against Kilmarnock. Muppets or what?

11 Aug 2020 08:30:37
Should be quite easy for the government’s track and trace team to contact all the Celtic players to self isolate for two weeks who have been in contact with Bolingoli?

11 Aug 2020 09:08:32
Griifiths house party, the defender not self isolating, eduoards elbow, we wait and see what the sfa action is! (Don't hold your breath), but the outcry from the press if it had been us would be deafening!

11 Aug 2020 10:24:19
Totally right scrambled. Surely all celtic players that have been in contact with him, which most be most, have to self isolate.

11 Aug 2020 11:16:51
Your right scotty, hardly a peep from media. We would be slaughtered.

11 Aug 2020 08:03:11
DEAR TIMALLOY

Thats Rangers now surpassed 25000 members to the my gers supporter scheme.
If you would be so kind and let your friends in uefa know by means of another 10 000 emails it would be much appreciated.

Im sure you will have a calculator to hand and that will tell you how much extra revenue that has generated for the Rangers.

If you could also let them know that there is still a massive que surrounding IBROX with customers wanting to spend even more cash in our new megastore.

THANKS.

11 Aug 2020 08:15:20
We're skint but 😂😂.

11 Aug 2020 10:48:00
Glad someone else saw his post Timalloy what a guy🤡.

11 Aug 2020 12:12:45
Timalloy and Griffiths are probably mates as they are the same type. I guess his excuse for the party was mental health issues, easy way out for the he who has put people's lives at risk, along with his teammate bolingoli, but of course that mob won't get punished cause they pay the pipers wage, wake up Scottish football or this is going to be another farce.

10 Aug 2020 23:31:57
Stop all this nonsense about whether a player we are after is a rangers supporter or a celtic supporter. Who gives a toss. If he is good enough for us that's fine by me. I was always led to believe that the dinosaurs died out about 65 millions years ago. Sometimes I wonder if that is true, with some of the posts I read on here. I really wish some of the posters on here would get a life.

11 Aug 2020 07:04:38
My blue heaven ohalloran was a cellik fan and look how that went?

11 Aug 2020 07:17:38
I give a toss. You don’t think it’s important we have players who love and understand our club? It’s no coincidence that we won 9 in a row when we had players who would run through brick walls for us. Goram, Gough, John Brown, Ian Ferguson, Souness, McCall, Durrant and McCoist to name a few. There is a difference between saying a Rangers fan and Protestants you know. I think it’s very important we have a team filled with die hard RANGERS FANS. If that makes me a dinosaur, then so be it!

11 Aug 2020 07:48:28
myblueheaven, I 100% agree with your post, we all want what's best for our Club, and that means playing the best players and that means nobody is excluded. To be fair the the Club has moved on, but, especially at away games, some of our fans need to grow up.

11 Aug 2020 08:43:22
My blue heaven, if you were a pro footballer playing for Hamilton and celtic made you an offer would you go, I wouldn't.

11 Aug 2020 09:31:50
Utter nonsense brexitjam.

11 Aug 2020 10:20:22
I know that if played for hamilton on £500 a week and celtic came in offering me £5000 a week chance to win trophies and play in europe etc. my answer would be yes i'm off.
My family would take a bit of convincing but in my defence i would only be using celtic as a stepping stone before my big move.

11 Aug 2020 12:48:31
Would never sign for them for all the tea in China. The thought of fellow bears despising me in a Tim shirt makes me feel sick xxxxxx.

11 Aug 2020 14:45:21
Naw, but just think COI, you're clean through against us in the final minute, and sclaff your shot into the crowd, I for one would be singing your name, Celtic strip or not.

11 Aug 2020 23:42:32
I would never ever play for them. End of.
