Everyone is talking about Walker and another striker like Moult. Herrera will prove a better player than Moult (did you see how bad he was on Sunday) given time to settle. Walker would be good addition and I believe it will happen for about £800,000.
Where we a short and no one is picking up on it is at the back. We have 3 experienced centre halfs and 3 full backs. Not enough. We should have 4 of each before the kids like Bates, Beerman etc who are a mile short of required quality in my opinion. Wallace is injury prone, Alves is old, we need at least one utility experienced defender who can play either centre half or left back. I repeat we are not adequately covered in this department and injuries, suspensions are inevitable. Mark my words Bates will cost us if he has to be used which he will be if he is 4th choice CB.

Thanks for that insight, I am sure Oedro has taken note did you get your UEFA Coaching Badges, or is this all based on Championship Manager experience?

Bates and Beerman played well at the tail end of the season, especially when we needed players to step up. They two certainly did, And with time I can only see both of them progressing into good players.
It's good to give youth a chance, and I see there being no harm at all in giving these guys a chance. They more than deserve a chance.

Scotty_52 your reply is infantile and lacks class. Grow up son. I have been watching Rangers home and away since 1980 and I know what I'm talking about.
A good defence is the foundation of any winning team. The Portugese defenders are welcome additions but we are still short and if we have to rely on Bates, Aidan Wilson and Beerman we are in trouble. They are not ready. Maybe I time they can be Rangers players but right now a season or two in the championship would be better for them and Rangers. We don't even have a midfielder who could cover in defence if required as Crooks is gone. Walker and another defender please Oedro! Past your bedtime Scotty_52.

I'd say we need at least 1 more centre back if Alves or cardoso get injured that leaves us with just bates and Wilson that's worrying I'd put bates out on loan for game time and Wilson will be the 4th choices cb

Bates and beerman are both young lads, surely playing/ training with pros like alves will help improve them. Young players have good AND bad games. Think some are too quick to criticize.

IMO we are still a little light on at the back need one more experienced fullback preferably Lb and one more experienced centre back as bates isn't quite up to premiership class just yet but leave him training with the first team and if possible an odd low class cup tie with Bruno as a learning process as his positioning isn't quite there yet.
