Here's a question I want to put out there to all rangers fans, before I go any further I support our manager ally mccoist 100% and want him to remain as our manager, everytime I read post messages on here it's very negative towards mccoist ie. give the rangers manager's job to terry butcher, billy davies, stuart mccall, derek adams etc, so my question is who do you's guy's want as our manager and why do you think they would be better than ally mccoist, give me your reasons, common let's be hearing from you's

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Keep Ally for now. Other names have no track record worthy of coming to us. Sort out the board and ownership issues first please. We can't move forward until that is resolved. Ally will give 100 per cent and that will do for now

Agree0 Disagree0

The managers you have named, Davies excepted, work on a smaller budget than Ally. They all have teams who play better football and have achieved big results with their clubs. They would be considerably cheaper to employ and would not feel the need for a FULL TIME goalkeeper coach in the third division, or TWO assistants.

Agree0 Disagree0

You obviously won't be moved in your views of Pep McCoist and who am I to convince you otherwise. knock yourself out pal lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantasy list. Guardiola, Mourinho, Ferguson, Mancini, etc, etc. Why? Because theyr'e all technically astute unlike Ally. You asked who was better!

Agree0 Disagree0

A manager who will work for less money for the club he loves. Or who will say that he will do the job in bringing us to the top league in the same time for less money in his pay packet. Someone currently on less wages who wants to prove himself and knows he can do the same job or better. The name is out there but all know what McCoist is on and that is the difficulty. His wages are the benchmark for anyone new.

Agree0 Disagree0

Post must be a wind up, let's be honest here, anybody [and I mean anybody] could be Rangers manager last year or this year with the players we have and win both leagues, and on a lot less cash, not to mention that perhaps they would have made things a wee bit more enjoyable for us and not made us suffer the complete pain of watching one man up front game after game against inferior players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally is the Football Manager of Rangers and that what he should do.
Ally's problem is that he want to get involved in the of the field things (this area is not his problem). Ally should show us that he is able to manage the footballing side of the club without looking for excuses and blaming others for the mistakes that he is making with his decisions on the football side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally hasn't got a clue 1 man up front last week

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 They also work with much smaller expectations and pressure

Big results for their clubs come maybe once or twice a season, we demand big results in EVERY SINGLE GAME

that is the difference, also why we need full time staff for our full time players

We have top tier level crowds, facilities, infrastructure, players, staff, expectations etc

it only makes sense that we have comparative costs

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 Ally's problem is that he is a rotten manager with no clue. How many embarrassing results will it take for people to realise he isn't the man for the job. Part of the current financial crisis is down to him and his poor record in cups. Add to that the over inflated wages he and his 2 sidekicks are taking out of the club and its no wonder we are on the brink once again

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think butcher would take the job, he turned down championship jobs because he and his wife love living in Inverness which you can't really complain about because Inverness is beautiful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

@6. Totally agree mate. I cannot believe these guys were paid substantial bonuses for winning the Scottish 3rd Division, absolutely ridiculous. Some of the guys they were playing against probably done a shift before putting their boots on! If I had the squad of players Ally has and could not beat the mighty Forfar Athletic I would be embarrased so if he loves the club as much as he says he does what needs to happen before it is one embarrasment too far. By the way, he was and always will be a legend during his playing days but as a Manager he just does not have what it takes. If he`s not careful he will be remembered for the wrong reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Hooded Claw would do a better job than Ally and still have time to pursue Penelope Pitstop

I just wish some of my fellow rangers season ticket holders & fans in general would give our manager ally mccoist a break and get off the guy's back, the time to judge the super one is at the end of this season when at least he's had a proper pre season to build on with the players and I must admit I'm very impressed with all ally's new signings, what a massive difference they are going to make I guarantee it, I'm very confident that we'll play an attacking brand of football which will be very pleasing on the eye, just like all TRUE rangers supporters ally mccoist bleeds red, white & blue, BIG RAM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said Big Ram

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish people would stop going on about the lack of pre season for the poor performances last season. We were in the 3rd division last year playing against part time players. Also we were told about how the players had had a great pre season this year and were ready for the new season. Then another embarrassing defeat to Forfar and another chance to progress in the cup and make some much needed revenue had gone once again

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 you fail to mention the Fact that the team. against Forfar was minus eight players who played in the pre season games. Shows your total ignorance about the game of football if you think that did not impact on the performance. Throw in Greens un motivational comments on the morning of the game and it was a tough ask from the players. Why do you even follow football if you do not even understand the basics?

Agree0 Disagree0

@3. Totally disagree with you point of view. Do you not think the the 11 (+ subs) full time players who played should have been good enough to beat the part time players they were facing; over extra-time?. Also, if your boss told you you were crap at your job wouldn't you go out to prove him wrong rather than prove him right? Don't be applying for any sports psychologist jobs just yet.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes good signings, but and but is the question can we afford them, this is not a game like question of sport, its the existence of rangers f. c. at stake doug t. s. o

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you understand? The point is he should walk the league with the squad he has but he should not have that squad in this division. he should have had the ability to coach and manage a young team on a tight budget to build reserves for the entry to the SPL. The wage bill is ridiculous and he still keeps talking about new players. It really is madness and he can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post ally will come good

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 last seasons squad isn't good enough to win the spfl 1 just look at the forfar result and the majority off fans wouldn't have stood another poor season of going from one bad result to another and last year was really bad but I agree we didn't need 8 new players 3-4 would have been enough that showed on Saturday with just law and daly in the team but what about if they get injured the young boys just Weren't good enough and the fans on here wer slating the team last season nearly every game at this moment in time we can't change manager so we should all just support the eleven players that's on the park

Agree0 Disagree0

Sh*t post a manager should be judged on his ability to coach a team and he should have been able to have coached what he had to win not just this div but the next one as well instead he went for over kill to garantee he'll win the league what's to judge apart from he's wasteful with valuble resource's the same as his predisessor ffs this is the man whp tried to bring in cousins when the ship was sinking and should have been first to walk when admin became a reality the guy's never a manager in a million years

@3 if you had been left in the top division with the restrictions still in place, would Ally still be in a job?

Why was that not the 1st question?

Why is Ally unsure if he will vote any any EGM and certain that he will not say who he voted for if he does? Is that showing solidarity with the cabal who want Green out? Or is it covering his ass as usual.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is either the latter or just demonstrating (yet again) in spite of the cheeky chap image he is just not very bright

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2013 21:34:07
of course he is hedging his bets he can't say he is voting for Green in case McColl wins and he can't say he is backing McColl in case Green wins. logical enough he is keeping his cards close to his chest and whoever wins he can then proclaim undying affection and support to them. he is not known as sneaky for nothing. JohnnyG. ally must stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2013 12:39:51
McCoist says he won't resign amid protests about Green! I warned about this previously, we must protest against McCoist first we cannot allow him to keep his vastly over paid job one moment longer than is necessary, Green, Whyte, Murray whoever they will all do as they please but to allow McCoist to continue milking us from the inside is madness. Ally McCoist is at Rangers for Ally McCoist no one else, how many times has he proven this by backing every single CEO, chairman etc and still we know nothing except we have bought 34000 STs with no guarantee the club will still be solvent at Xmas even before McCoist signs 8 new players! Money is disappearing at an alarming rate into certain peoples pockets, McCoist is definitely one of those people and should feel the full force of our efforts to rid Rangers of his kind.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The promised budget from green, Stockbridge and recently Mather was for £5m to upgrade facilities at both Ibrox stadium and Murray park. This money has long disappeared through the facilities department by messers Stockbridge, Mather and his external cohorts Iain Morgan and George Angus. Using the usual rouse of contracting and consultants the amounts are unbelievable but will eventually come out once we see the accounts!

The next major issue is there is no internal maintenance team as most where made redundant recently for asking some very pertinent question that in particular mr Stockbridge didn't like! Mather completely backed Stockbridge up so he is as much to blame in the whole "great stadium robbery"

This now leaves Stockbridge and the financial controller ken overmans to spend as much as they like using sub contract companies to provide services another vast cost that will be grossly overcharged again!

Show us the books!

The stadium is falling apart and has been getting steadily worse for the last 6 months this has been highlighted to the facilities consultant in charge but he does not have a clue about how the stadium operates instead he uses one of the "insider traders" to do his running around his name is Gordon Mcallister and he is a complete disgrace and should be dismissed from the ranks immediatly there is more to come about his role in the "great stadium robbery"

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post mate. is it only the few that think its shocking that last season ally mccoist was asking players to take a pay cut to help the club and yet even now he shrugs his shoulders saying nobody has asked me bout taking a pay cut. should he not be offering given his pay levels?

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith, McCoist and every other person at Ibrox must know the financial position. Malcolm Murray was pushed because he knew and could see increasing wage bills and no cut backs were killing the Club. He was the most respected businessman on the board and was punted, tells it's own story surely.

Agree0 Disagree0

@op that's the same guy who took a 75% wage drop look a don't think he's a good manager but it was green who gave him that wage see if your boss offered you a hefty wage would you turn that down no so stop going on about mccoists wage it's not ally or his players who's pocketed 20-30 mill so your post is absolutely pointless

Agree0 Disagree0

@4. Good post. Saved me writing it. Also it seems to be open season on ally. The haters know they can't remove him on football reasons so now they are painting a picture of someone who is raiding the safe each night. Come on. Do you think the guy is a thief? He has a contract and is paid a wage which was agreed by the consortium who bought rangers assets. That is it. And who did he ask to take a pay cut last season?

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 how must smith mccoist know about the finances the club have also if Malcolm Murray knows then he's not the rangers fan he is making out because he would have came out and told everybody because trust me if was in his position and knew somrthing I would come out and tell the fans regardless of what restrictions that there may be as would any rangers fan why are the fans still arguing over mccoists wage who knew we all know now for sure green Mather Stockbridge and the rest are the ones who's shafting our club why don't we all just concentrate on getting these muppets out of our club the now then we can deal with a new manager regardless of mccoists inability to manage we will still win the league so all fans should concentrate getting rid of the board snd leave mccoist for now

Agree0 Disagree0

@ OP I agree mate and so do a lot of people posting on here but incredibly when you get into the stadium McCoist is still very popular

Agree0 Disagree0

McCoist has the smile of a crocodile with golden teeth. You say how would he know what the finances are like. I say he knows all too well what's happening. He's not that stupid. He might not know the exact figures but he knows the clubs F&ck'd and he's still milking the cash cow for the sake of his sons as his shares will soon be worth nothing. I think when the truth comes out u will see the then sacked McCoist riding on a pony behind the blue knights when they pick up the club for zero with CVA.

Agree0 Disagree0

A manager recieving 750k per year in the 3rd teir of Scottish football is a disgrace. You'd think he was something special on that wage and able to build a squad of youngsters. But no he needs to bring in 8 new players because he couldn't install a winning mentality in last years team. 750k must not buy you that.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2013 19:07:33
Mcoist was given the job to do. He was offered a contract and a set wage with a bonus system. He gave up his wages to help save Rangers he is a hero!
He is a Rookie manager who's football team went bust, he was left to pick up the pieces and won the leauge by 26 points. Any where else in the world he would be a hero, but not on small minded, bigoted Scotland.
Yeah he f@&ked up but he is a rookie with a s*** team it was inevitable it was going to happen.
Alex Fergusons first 2 years at Manchester United were bad but look what happend there.
Give the boy a chance. He deserves it if it was not for him you would not have had the titles you have now!

Agree0 Disagree0

@10. Cannot agree with you mate. How long will Ally be a rookie manager for? Full time players playing part time players who put in a normal weeks work over and above their football commitments and we are struggling to get results against them and getting knocked out of cups by them. Are you seriously comparing Ally McCoist to Sir Alex Ferguson as a Manager. They are at opposite ends of the scale I`m afraid.

what happened to fixing the facilities at ibrox and murray park ibrox has weeds growing out the bricks at the front of the stadium murray park roof is all rusty
and walls blown down after last years storm have not been fixed what happened to renaming of murray park
what happened to buying edmonston house relocating the ticket centre out of the portacabin a museum to be built all promises made by mrgreen after the ipo money was put in the bank

Believable0 Unbelievable0

would anyone like to estimate just how much Sally has cost the club in lost revenue for all the cup competitions he`s been kicked out of?
must run into millions!
caller on phone in the other night, suggested the Malmo/Maribor debacle arguably forced the club into liquidation for that lost revenue alone!
makes you think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah that's right those two games forced the club into administration and not the years of miss management. It got me thinking alright that the caller on the radio and you are talking nonsense!

Of course it had NOTHING to do with Whyte stealing all the tax money did it??

Agree0 Disagree0

@2

You are wasting your time trying to tell some of them. So blind, all they can see is the footballing side, while there are one or two important issues in the background.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers have been knocked out of Europe early too many times before. All it did was force whytes hand sooner. As he would have had a bigger pay day if he got his dirty little thieving hands on cl money. It is only the uneducated who really believe this caused our demise.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post and and yes you are spot on action is needed and needed fast!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers need a business CFO, someone who will tell us what we can affort and where we need to make cuts. I love Ally but think we can't afford him. Bit relity is I don't know, like everyone I guess. Forget boardroom battles get an empowered CFO and a chairman who will back him and tell us the truth

Psn4 great post mate you beet me to it on this occasion but I posted simalar when the s*** hit the fan regards white

If the £10m in the bank figure is true, then all parties associated with the current board must go - But the facts must be established.

Why have the answers to the 50 questions not been published for transparency. The only way we can bring pressure to bare is to do the following

Action Plan

Wait the one to two weeks and see if the current board start to do the right things -

Remove Green from his position

Publish the answers to the 50 questions asked last week with evidence where necessary

If this fails to transpire, All fans turn up at Ibrox for the next home game but do not go in to the game but remain outside the ground (YES THIS IS PAINFUL BUT JOHN BROWN IS RIGHT - STARVE THEM OUT)

This will cause the biggest s**t storm you can imagine and the share price will drop, the shareholders as a group will have to act as one to protect their investment.

Keep doing this at every home game until action is taken

We have to remember that if the scare stories are true and we cannot trade to the end of the season without further investment, then action has to be taken now.

Further investment has to be found ot the club goes through the recent administration cycle all over again. If the RST are serious about fan ownership which we would all love, we should ask Mr J McColl if he is prepared (in the short term) to fund the finance to take the majority shareholding provided a contract/agreement is secured through the RST for the fans to buy back the shares say over 5 seasons such that in 5 years time the RST (Fans) have the majority shareholding.

This will allow the RST and the fans to dictate who the board members are and who should be on the board. Whatever way we look at this, the problem will not be sorted quickly and anybody who thinks this will all be over by Xmas is dreaming.

REMEMBER WE SAT ON OUR HANDS THE LAST TIME AND LOOK WHERE WE ARE. IF THINGS END UP IN ADMINISTRATION AGAIN OWING PEOPLE MONEY, POINTS DEDUCTIONS AND FINES AGAIN, THEN THIS TIME WE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES - THE FANS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How can you starve them out when they already have the season ticket money - wait till next year after Administration?

Agree0 Disagree0

@op I wouldn't join anything to do with the rst or rsa they have been quieter than the board as much as I think it's the right way forward their would need to be a new group started because what have these fan groups done nothing the rst did the buy shares thru them and they can't even come out and say they are going do in all fairness we would need a leader and those groups aren't the answer

Agree0 Disagree0

The club won't take in any secondary revenue. Your right they have the ST money but won't sell any pies. (Unless ally buys 8) (pies not players). Tge stadium will be empty hence the message delivered. Also if you wait till administration it will be too late. Thus will also risk the club being able to secure a CVA if fans don't buy ST. So act now not later.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@gaz mate you make a lot of sense with your comments but this borderline OCD but a like most of what you say is your real name imran (lol)by any chance you seem to know more than most on here

Agree0 Disagree0

Gaz mate you really need to get a life mate as the celtic fans so kindly point out what has Lennon got to do with any of this

Agree0 Disagree0

Gaz- I'm beginning to think you've got too much time on your hands mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1) Everything is easy found online, every quote (apart from the joke ones of course) but the three ringing endorsements are straight out of Ally's gub, as was his initial reply to Green's worst team jibe.

@2) Now that is interesting, you clearly visit the Celtic page (where one comment said that) but it is US who are the only ones possibly obsessed? Just gave the game away didn't you 2)?

There are Rangers fans on another site, who frequently refer to Ally and Neil regards being golfing buddies now I don't know if it was once or if it was last week or 5 years ago but I thought it added something to it based on that.

Baybear you are probably right but I can guarantee I know more facts about all of this than most of you with not one "ear to the ground" source, I read, I remember and at some point later I regurgitate it. And I'm not saying this in a hell mend you sort of way but it's sourcing info that will keep these folks accountable. Shining example, Jim Traynor says to 200 of you on Thursday night "No, despite the deal a certain much criticised media co. won't be allowed access to Ibrox on Saturday. " On Saturday Jim McLean was providing live updates from the ground, their words don't even last 48 hrs scrutiny any more, will you ever take issue with them? Or do we need to lead you by the nose to their every lie, deception and misdeed?

@1) Lol, no one Imran, he got rumbled for doing that on another site though his name on it was hardly cryptic was it :)

Gaz I wish you were a bear- yet again you are one of the few who talk sense on this forum. Sit back for the Super Ally brigade having a real go though. But keep posting mate you tell it as it is

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 ha ha :0) no offence intended mate. I'm not doubting your honesty or points. Just took one look at the post and thought "fu@! me! that Gaz fellie needs to get out more" I couldn't bring myself to read it in all honesty. I'm partial to writing a bit of war n peace myself but this post just took it too far ;0)
Seriously though, I'm sure you've made some valid points dude, you usually do. I'll go back and read a bit now. Just getting myself a wee glass of red and popping on my smoking jacket to settle in for the night ;0)

Gaz I think your on the brink of a breakdown worrying about the most successful club in scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, cheers 6) but that being a bear comment bit I can't deal with lol.

No worries baybear, it's a three-piper in old smoking terminology I think :)

8) The real question is will you have a breakdown when they are no longer Scotland's most successful club? If it is indeed true now. At the rate of cash and top domestic trophies you are haemoraging to us and the chasm in finances I wouldn't rule us out winning a first to 60 race, can you?

@9 aye, it was a three-piper right enough :0) Did give me a wee chuckle at bits. Good to read a bit of comedy amongst the relentless gnashing of teeth.

Cheers 10) That was it's plan, for once I tried to live up to the term banter page.

It's reported that Mcoist is willing to take a pay cut to help reduce costs. He should have done this last year!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Says he keeps spending because he hasn't been told not to - sounds like my wife FFS.

Agree0 Disagree0

@op why should he have done this last year as he said no one has said anything that he should of thought oh wait a minute this isn't right he got those wages bonus and budget from green Stockbridge and now Mather so if your boss said to you aw here pal you'd wages are 700k and a bonus and shares in the club you would say no exactly

Agree0 Disagree0

I could not believe what I read in the papers this morning regarding mcoist,
nobody asked me to take a wage cut.
All those players who did take a cut in their wages to help the club when most needed, must be shocked at this revelation, I certainly would, mr rangers
raking in a fortune while his players were happy to help, thinking eveyone else probably was doing their bit. I find it quite shameful that a man who professes to have rangers best interest at heart contributed nothing to the cause. Please mr mccoist do me a favour and go NOW. JIMBO.

@ Op 1 and 3 good posts lads. Totally agree. Probaly Whyte set the salary levels and Green did not alter it in case McCoist walked- god I wish he had altered it

Agree0 Disagree0

You won't be saying that after sept 1st with all our new players wel take off
