I agree mate. Steven Davis will be our deep lying playmaker pulling all the strings, from the deep position,
where he can see everything in front of him. Even at his tender age of 34 years old, he's still a terrific midfielder and will be a very important player for us this season.
He's a class act and showed his quality again, towards the back end of last season, when he was up to his match fitness. He's also the experience we need in our engine room.

On young billy gilmour. He'll get more of a chance at chelsea now,
because of the transfer embargo and the fact frank lampard is the chelsea manager now. Good luck to young gilmour, who had a fabulous career in front of him. He was a special young midfielder, breaking through our youth teams. No wonder arsenal, chelsea and other clubs were desperate to sign him, when he turned 16. He always had ability, way beyond his years.

HI FELLOW BEARS is it just me or are you all just buzzin about our beloved team i was super excited about last year was dissapointed we didn't win anything as in a trophy or title but we did win a hell of a lot of respect. and opened a few doors and eyes on the way and i just get the feeling people are sitting up and taking notice of us more so this season
our signings for what we have paid is nothing short of remarkable . season not started and we have almost completed our business. remarkable come august we will have a fit settled team / squad . pps we did actually win just about everything at youth level the future is blue bears!

There is talk of us signing the big Swedish defender for over 4 million. Possibly nonsense paper talk.
I'm just really curious as to when the last time we spent stat sort of money in a player was? I have looked online, but can't seem to find any info on it.
I'm thinking it might be Jelovic. can't remember their being much since then. I think it have been a while since we had even spent that much when we bought him, I could be wrong but if anyone knows, I would love some info.

Assuming it is him, been reading that he is injury prone? Hope that is not the case as we do not need £4 million+ in the treatment room. The stats are very poor if they are to be believed so hopefully inaccurate.

I think we signed Jelavic for approx £4.5M. Most expensive in recent time must be Goldson. Think we spent around £3M on him, although not sure of the exact amount without googling it.

So according to reports it's Helander for Ibrox. £4.2m, if accurate, its a big number!
Not sure about this but I really can't fault our coaches and recruitment teams.
When I think back to where we've been and where we are right now:
Settled board with an agenda and a long term plan - I doubted them
Coach and Management Team from top to bottom that appears to be cultured and forward thinking.
Youth set up designed with a purpose and so far clearly working with big achievements thus far.
First Team that has promise of success.
Stevie G himself a man for the moment I think. He really does ooze class and I love his direct approach and loyalty. I'm not sure how long he is here for but I hope it's 3/ 4 more years. It is indeed a cynical world and I'm often incredibly cynical, however I really do think SG has a love for this club now. I hope so, let's be honest not many come to us and leave not in love.

I see that the rumour of us signing Skrtel have resurfaced. I personally hope they are true. If I look back to all the great successful teams we have had, we have always had a killer, G Robert's, Bomber Brown, N Cooper to name a few. Skrtel for me comes into that bracket and it's something our current team lacks imo.
I also think his experience esp in Europe will help our younger defenders.
