Believable4 Unbelievable19

Blackie were no buyin it mate. You and the rest have been rank rotten and you should expect to hear about it at a club the size of Rangers.

P. s the missus has asked me to get you round to give us a quote for decorating the weans room. When should I say you'll get round?

Agree10 Disagree4

Dont think she wants the room decorated mate probably something else.

I keep hearing about the millions celtic are making but can anyone tell me their wage bill so I don, t think they will be that much better of at the end of financal year

Believable11 Unbelievable41

We're ok financially thanks, just worry about your own finances + everything else that's going on at your club.

Agree36 Disagree16

I don't think any of Celtic's directors are getting their accommodation paid for by the club or indeed on 100% bonuses for winning the championship unlike Green, Smith, Stockbridge, Murray & Ahmed!

Agree28 Disagree10

Yes they make £20+ million extra but you can't spend that all on players (current). loans to repay, etc etc etc

wise use of some, save some.

if rangers all extra into ebt and lost forever.

Agree12 Disagree12

I think john brown was close to the truth when he said celtic will make 160m in the time it takes the rangers to get in spl. celtic work to tight budgets and this season is very good financially. they are very well run and their wages fit into that model nicely. they transferred ki for about 6m and haven't missed him, that money has gone a long way to meeting wages bills. add to that the 22m so far from cl, and other gate receipts, sponsorships and tv money. the current squad is also worth tens of millions more than it has cost. no amount of wishful thinking or green claptrap is going to put the rangers anywhere near that. kal naismith anybody?

Agree27 Disagree11

Why are you worrying about celtic, when it is becoming apparent that we are in some sh. e ourselves

Agree27 Disagree10

Even if it's 4 times what Rangers' wage bill is, they'll still make more than Rangers.

Agree26 Disagree8

Are you serious? A minimum of £25m from the CL, £6m the sale of the korean get a grip man.

Agree20 Disagree8

I think honest answer lies in the previous years that Celtic and Rangers been in the CL - a little profit is made say £10M to pay off a little debt. So Celtic will be £10M up on the year - Rangers will be about 15M in the red.

Agree12 Disagree3

OP they made a loss of 7.7m last year, that I do know

JG

Agree4 Disagree3

All the above covers what I was going to say but last season was around 35m (I think) so around 30m mark

Go onto the UEFA Champs League official site mate. You'll find an official breakdown of the cash pot available.
Every win has a cash value.
TV cash pot per population.
Cash for each stage of qualifying through to last 16.
All adds up easy-peasy!
£25M and £6M for Ki to Swansea. kbt1978

Agree10 Disagree0

@9) last year loss results were obviously a reflection of the year 12 months before that. This set of results will be a reflection of results since then. The 7.7 million was after the Mowbray fiasco including paying him off. And also the Robbie Keane loan and wages that the club paid for by the way not Desmond. Ki sale and Champions League cash bonanza will be on next years results so I would expect good results this year but not anything special. Listen let's be honest here, at this moment in time and for the last decade Celtic have been the bet ran football club in Scotland, no argument! After they get this set of results they will most likely clear a fair chunk off the relatively small debt (Given the size of the football club) that they currently have. They have traded well in the transfer market and now have a young and seemingly very valuable squad of players Forster, Mathews, Ledley, Forrest, Hooper, Wanyama all Likely to eventually leave for massive profits. As far as sponsors go they have just signed a lucrative 3 year multi-million pound deal with Magners to add to the lucrative deal for kits and training wear with Nike. Guaranteed SPL winners for the next 3-4 years and the nearly 2 million prize money that comes with that each season then the estimated 26 million they have already earned from Champions League this season. I think to be on here actually concerning yourselfs with Celtic's financial position is laughable. Especially considering almost a year ago Rangers went into administration, and only last week the new holding company got a threat of winding up by someone owed 400k.

To paraphrase John McEnroe. You cannot be serious?

They have there own page discuss them there. ballyboy

Right so let me get this straight. Celtic have made MILLIONS and MILLIONS. I just have one wee question. There is a great opportunity to reach the last 8 of the CL. Why was none of these millions spent on further strengthening your squad to boost your chances? Or is the millions tucked away in that rusty dusty old biscuit tim. oops sorry tin. Not very ambitious is it? Oh I see its to prevent what happened to Gers, happening to yourselves. ok. Good luck with that.

Agree5 Disagree8

@13) Thanks buddy, that's about as close as your going to get to an admission of defeat in a debate on here. Huzzah.

Agree1 Disagree2

@12 ''very valuable'' that is one way to balance your books
tell me again how many offers did you have for that bunch of superstars in january window,
any player is only worth what someone else will pay for him not 20- 30 - 40 million as you seem to think some of that lot are worth

JG

@16 Celtic got more for Ki than you got for half a team.

After the torture of the last two matches at Ibrox and the sheer humiliation at Tannadice I expected a slump at the gates yesterday. Not so and the 46, 00 plus who pitched up are the real heroes of this bizarre journey of ours.

90% of the posts on this site are negative and some rightly so but this continuing show of support on Saturdays is staggering and a reminder to us that being overly critical here is too easy a way to vent anger and over react. Take the comments recently on Temmpleton who has been our best player. One bad match in the Cup and he's lambasted as being not worthy of the jersey. Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

Yeah there'll be comments about ticket prices as usual but when I watch most of the SPL highlights and it's a case of spot the fans, it's they who should feel embarrassed. We've got planty to feel proud of. Only Manchester United could match this if they woke up to a similar nightmare.

Believable32 Unbelievable29

Well said, yes the negative people that come on here and we know who they are will soon drift away like the tide, never once in all the years I have floowed the gers have I had to boo them off the park, might have been disappopinted with the result but true supporters take the good with the bad doug t. s. o {The Ed039's Note - Doug I can say with all honestly I have never booed a team off the pitch mate, I have been furious and have a moan but never done that and never will)

Agree14 Disagree13

There wasn't anything over 41 thousand there yesterday. Seen it myself.

Still a good turnout though

Agree16 Disagree14

Hi ed 39, there is some guys that go there that are never happy, I've 1 guy that sits behind me in gf2 all he does is moan, gough, hendry, amoruso theve all got it from him, all he does is whine god help his wife that's if he is married lol doug t. s. o

Agree3 Disagree2

Doug are you really happy that murray buys rfc for £6mill, create ebt to pay him wait for it £6mill, pulls £50million out of club in the ebt, and leave company with debts and worth £1

and you happy because during that time you played in cl and won some things,. lns may report that league titles and cup wins were bogus.

even then will you still be happy? unreal!

murray mugged real rfc fans. and got away with it
whyte mugged real rfc fans. and got away with it

take it with green its third time lucky?

Agree14 Disagree6

Folks it's fantastic that so many are still showing up at each match. However, Charles Green has been caught out yet again lying. When is he going to be properly questioned by the fans? Who cares about the colour of the seats? It's time for him to be honest and answer the pertinent questions. Is there a debt? And if so, to who? Let's forget about celtic. What is really happening at Ibrox?

Agree19 Disagree1

You TAlk about big crowds at ibrokes but most of them are st holders and not paying the st money has already gon so thers not much actual cash coming froM these crowds unless the pies are fiver each

Agree13 Disagree4

Its great so many turning up at ibrox (real fans) but why the loss then. Green should be crowing that being debt-free (Uk pays more debt interest that on defense!) and therefore IN PROFIT with these huge attendances at ibrox.

that he cant, and reports losses - means even filling ibrox is no fix to the issues that lead to administration last year.

Agree8 Disagree0

I was never happy with murray in the first place he was too smug about things, yes I knew years before things came to a head he was salting money out of gers to prop up his own businesses, john brown was in my house 2 years ago and even he said then murray had a lot to answer for and we would be stuck with big lafferty as our main striker, little did he know what was ahead. as for whyte he is worse than murray, do you think mr green would take the chance of screwing the fans after the previous 2 have done it, he would need to take safe refuge in celtic park cause there wouldn't be any hiding place for him elsewhere, yes I enjoyed all the good players at ibrox when murray was there but its came at a cost doug t. s. o

Agree7 Disagree4

@2 for the record the official attendance was 46, 104.

Agree5 Disagree6

@9) So were the other "official" attendances that have been found to be wrong. On stv 3 days ago about it mate. 743 more fans through the gates at Ibrox than Celtic park this season (yes that is all, after all the talk) So after Saturday with Rangers playing at home and Celtic away it will by your reckoning be 46, 743 now. Celtic with a home attendance in hand if you want to put it that way. Great attendances for Rangers this season it has to be said. Boring as f@ck debating about it though I have to tell you.

Agree8 Disagree2

U can argue this two ways. celtic only have similar attendances as they have played the full houses of champions league. otherwise they would be way behind rangers. on the other hand gers have cheaper prices.

personally I think the gers fans are going to follow rangers through the leagues with close to full houses. we feel that we have been done wrong, and the everyones against us mentality will see us all the way to champions league.

Agree2 Disagree4

Does it actually matter how many fans turn up in the greater scheme of things? The club are in the bottom tier and although 22 points clear haven't set the heather on fire that often this season, the football on offer in Division 3 is nothing short of awful, kidding on otherwise is doing no one any favours, with the current crop of players the prospects of competing in the top flight is a long way off, last weeks game at Tannadice showed that, Division 2 next season will be much of the same though slightly harder, the 1st Division will be very much more of a test, so it will be a very minimum of 2 seasons more before there's any prospect of a top flight return

Agree2 Disagree1

@8 Doug I bet you celebrated just as much with Murry when your team were winning all these trophy's. Your having a laugh calling him smug when you keep boasting about your business, your bmw and how good you have done for yourself, now I don't have a problem with anyone doing well but you should look at yourself before calling anyone smug

Does anybody see the imbalance in Mr Green paying 1p per share while the RST spent£250,000 buying there's at 70p per share? Nice way to hand the fans a part of the club.

Believable28 Unbelievable10

If club goes bust (again) then fans just lost again!

Agree14 Disagree2

Op that makes no sense at all, the club were there for anyone to invest in their money in and green and co put their money forward when no one else did, that's called business, you see an opportunity and take it,
now get over it and let's all move on

by the way it was more like 6p per share
