Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

I've read a lot of posts to do with players who left us when we went down and how bitterness has become the order of the day.
Are all those posters saying THEY have never changed jobs to better themselves?
I don't think so!
We all try to look after number one, whatever it takes. The players concerned are only human after all said and done.

10 Dec 2015 18:44:54
Your totally missing the point about the argument. No fan would begrudge players leaving especially after what happened however it was the way the left that's the issue. These players deserted the club and left us high and dry. They could have easily made it a condition of that should a few of around £500k come in they would have been allowed to leave. They would have got their move and the club would have got some much needed money but instead they left not caring how the club survived. Of course as we all know now the money would have gone straight into the pockets of the people in charge however at that time no one knew exactly what was happening.

10 Dec 2015 21:14:55
Answer me this, what would have happened to the transfer fees we received if these players had decided to sign?

10 Dec 2015 21:27:47
Biffo, you forget the fact that they played for 6 months on half (or severely reduced) wages. Once the club (company) was liquidated there was no way they were going to get their money back. They had every right to say "screw this" and cut their losses.

10 Dec 2015 22:09:15
Scarecrow, if the administrators had done their job properly the players would have been sold or sacked on the spot. It shouldn't have been the players decision in the first place!

10 Dec 2015 22:16:53
Scarecrow

No I didn't forget that however what u seem to forget is that they wouldn't have been able to play for other clubs and get paid until the transfer window opened. Greg Wylde left once administration hit and went to Bolton however he wasn't allowed to play. So the players were better off being paid a percentage of their wage at Rangers and play rather than get nothing and not play. Also players like Wallace, McCulloch, Alexander, Bocanegra, Goian and Edu were in the same boat as the deserters yet they did the right thing by the club and the fans.

10 Dec 2015 22:46:00
Wee bill I totally agree if they stayed they would have had to work in the worst possible conditions with the worst possible bosses I know if I had to work for green, Ahmed, the easdales, ashley's cronies I know I would be banged up for serious assault we have a new board that I believe support the club and want the best for it so if players want to come back and they would add to the team I would take them but to be honest there is only one good enough and that is naismith, the boy is a brilliant player and would walk into any team in Scotland, but let's face it as a club who don't see football as the main thing going on at the club, some it is bigotry and now some who follow conspiracy theories and judging by some on here it's business analyst and financial experts let's forget agendas let's remember we are a football club and we want guys who can play football, nothing against the guys we have but naismith is an amazing player and better than any one we have. I know that lots of people will disagree with me and be pissed off with my assessment of some of our own but take away the fact he has already played for us, take away the fact he left when we were at rock bottom just think about what he would bring to the team because the team is the most important thing and it is much bigger than a bunch of guys who walked, it's much bigger than all those that have tried to run us into the ground and much bigger than any other team in this country.

10 Dec 2015 23:01:28
Am with u Gary good post.

10 Dec 2015 23:25:03
Gary75
Putting aside what Naismith did. He is under contract and would therefor command a transfer fee well in excess of what we can afford not to mention a salary we couldn't get close too. So it's really irrelevant no matter how good you think he is. He has had his time with Rangers he will not return.

10 Dec 2015 22:13:07
Boss hog it doesn't matter what would have happened to the money, the players would be viewed as legends by the fans if they had left for a fee! And the previous board would be hated even more than they are now!

11 Dec 2015 07:44:31
Jason I know they would be legends but if you went to work never got paid or got demoted would you be happy with a pat on the back instead, these guys have short careers they have to get as much as they can from it goian and bocanegra never played again they went on loan because they never wanted to lose money and aprt from Wallace the rest were past it and like the majority of the ones that came in they would never have got a game under different circumstances. Wallace is a legend but big jig was paid over the top and should have been sold years before. Papac done good for use by not trying to screw us but the ones who stayed especially the manager they stayed to get as much as they could mccoist plaid the victim so well there were times I thought this guy could be the celtic manager.

11 Dec 2015 09:33:52
Gary75

Your being over dramatic about the players who left. Your making out that they would have went bankrupt if they had stayed or had to sign on. These players had been well paid and looked after by the club and all fans expected was a bit of loyalty especially from the ones who claimed to be Rangers fans. Instead they just deserted the club without a second thought.

11 Dec 2015 11:05:43
It's not all about the wages it's losing their international place it's playing in the bottom league in a country who's standard at the top isn't high when these guys came they could have went to England but they came because we were in Europe and we were rangers once we are at the bottom but they are at the top of their game why through their short careers away because of financial mismanagement by the board the players weren't to blame it's easy for people in normal jobs to say they would stay but if you had a 15/20 career you would want to do as much as you can in such a short period.

11 Dec 2015 16:19:23
Gary 75 never mind players have short careers nonsense, if you get paid 5k a week for ten years you have earned 2.6 million pounds and live a comfy life. So these players could have stayed for a few seasons and still have made lots of money!

11 Dec 2015 17:45:28
Aye and where would their careers went.

10 Dec 2015 17:02:47
Sorry to see Bolton going thru what we did but glad that wee ginger winger is suffering he was the first to laugh and down us.

10 Dec 2015 19:20:11
Karma anyone lol.

10 Dec 2015 22:18:05
Sorry but can't agree it's awful what's happened to Bolton no matter who plays for them or who is the manager. Sad that a team like that should fall on times like these.

10 Dec 2015 22:27:57
It's there own bloody fault I've no sympathy for them they brought it on themselves! like we did over spending on big name players and now they paying the price like we had to do look at Leeds n Pompey same boat.

10 Dec 2015 23:26:44
Ryan

People will probably lose their jobs down to this and I'm not talking just about players. Your attitude is harsh to say the least.

11 Dec 2015 06:57:01
I am aware people will lose there job and that's not nice I totally agree I don't like to see anyone lose a job! but the way these owners go on throwing money about gambling with the future of the club is disgusting and also gambling with hard working people's future! yes I feel sorry for the staff who wouldn't? i was blaming the people who ran the club.

11 Dec 2015 08:25:07
Feel sorry for Bolton once blessed with players like okocha, Campo, stelios, Anelka, djorkaeff, Cahill to what they are now. hopefully they can sort themselves out.

11 Dec 2015 08:38:52
Ryan! Did you feel the same when people said that about us?

10 Dec 2015 14:46:06
to leave all the old sour grapes aside, a big thank you to steven Naismith for his charity work at this time of the year both here and in Liverpool. good lad . would I welcome him back. absolutely. deecee.

10 Dec 2015 16:16:14
No issue with his charity work and infact agree well done but don't want him anywhere ibrox.

10 Dec 2015 18:46:40
Pity he wasn't as charitable to the club that helped him through 2 major knee ops and helped make him the player he is.

10 Dec 2015 22:07:14
Am pretty sure the players are insured for big injuries like his are they not.

10 Dec 2015 23:28:45
Cee

Actually I would very much doubt insurance companies would insure players to that extent. Insurance companies are there to make money above all else.

10 Dec 2015 10:03:09
I see rangers are heavily linked with Greg Stewart does anybody know how good the boy is, and does people think he would be a good signing, since Rangers got sent to the 3rd div I haven't seen many other Scottish teams play except when we have played them, one thing I will say is whoever mw signs I have full trust in his judgment.

10 Dec 2015 13:46:41
Hes a cracking player but not a centre forward as such seems to play on the left of the 3 most of the time.

10 Dec 2015 20:59:02
tp9, Rangers weren't sent to the 3rd div. they got liquidated a new team The Rangers International FC were given a license in their place. Do you remember "Team 12"?

10 Dec 2015 22:17:33
Yet another clueless and uninformed post! Team 12 as you call it was set aside by the football authorities because the decision was yet to be made on which league Rangers would be playing in. Never mind though I'm sure your lot together with the Tannadice whingers will be playing in the second tier next year whilst both your places are taken by us and Falkirk.

11 Dec 2015 23:37:21
What is it about the legal term 'liquidation' you can't grasp blue wonkier?
PTFC 1876- present day, not 1872-2012,

10 Dec 2015 12:36:43
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Nice One Naismith As Chelsea Turn The Corner, Maybe

10 Dec 2015 11:39:31
So at the minute our January shopping list looks like this:

Tarik Fagrach - 17 year old Moroccan Striker (Signed)

Josh Windass 21 year old English Attacking Midfielder/possible striker but I don't know if MW will play him there, depending on other signings.

Matt Crooks - 21 year old English Defensive Midfielder.

Vladisalavs Gutkovskis - Big 20 year old Latvian forward.

Greg Stewart - 25 year old Scottish Forward.

I remember Warbs saying we would only be signing 1 or 2 this transfer window. Fagrach won't be going into first team so don't think he counts in that number so for me I think Crooks and Gutkovskis would be best options to add to what we have at the minute.
Windass would be good as well though if we are going to lose Zelalem in January though not certain if that will be extended?

10 Dec 2015 13:37:13
I think Greg Stewart will be a fall back incase Windass goes elsewhere, a lot of clubs looking at him at the moment.

I would be delighted with Windass, Crooks and Gutkovskis. That should be enough to see us over the line.

I don't think Zelalems deal will be extended, shame tho, he is a nice player to watch, even if slightly lightweight.

10 Dec 2015 15:08:48
I've not seen any of them play so can only judge based on what I've read. Gutkovskis sounds like a big man we can stick in the middle up front for a different option. Our aerial threat is non-existent at the minute, and the amount of corners we get I feel this is a definite area we could improve.

Hoping Crooks is a solid DM (and hopefully the only Crook we have at Rangers) I could see us set up with.
Fod
Tav, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace
Crooks/Halliday
Holt, Windass
Waggy, Gutkovskis, Mckay

To be honest though I reckon Andy could fit anywhere across the left, be it as DM, CM or out on the wing.

I like Zelalem, he makes some great passes but unfortunately I don't think we will see his best at Scottish Championship level. Completely different game trying to break down 10 behind the ball.

10 Dec 2015 15:44:36
Border Ranger: I think Zelalem deal IS extended to end of season.

10 Dec 2015 09:27:53
I wonder if King is making money shorting Sports Direct today.
