To be honest as good a player as Scott Allan is, I think our midfield has proven that he isn't exactly a necessity. 9 goals in 2 games against our 2 main rivals shows our midfield isn't really in need of creativity. I'll be a happy bear if we do sign him because as I say he's a good player, but if we leave it to get him on a pre-contract then I'll be just as happy.

But onto something which I think is so much more important, it was fantastic to be at ibrox on Friday with such a feel good factor. Last season the fans were missing and the club and team missed them so much so it was great for the Rangers family to stand together again

Allan would defo inhance our team.who would allan replace in midfield though think it would be law myself

We need a play maker in midfield and a strong holding midfielder. The midfield so far play good football however I am fearful of coming up against a team with physical players in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2015 16:31:16
I think a strong holding player is essential but I think we have enough talent in there otherwise. Allan would be a great addition I think but on the flip side it would maybe be just as good to sign him on a bosman and give some of the other young midfielders a chance to develop this season with first team football. Under warburton they seem to be flourishing so let's give them the chance to shine this year.

Does anyone know what Newcastles plans for Vuckic - has he made their squad.
I know that it is very unlikely based our issues with Mr Ashley, but I think Vuckic would fit into the MW/DW ethos.
Young, strong, fit and a goal scorer.

Why is the Eustace signing taking so long to happen?

Is it money or fitness?

Perhaps it would be wise to look elsewhere - perhaps looking at the youth is not an option.

Decisions, decisions

Any Scottish CBs out there that is worth a look at?

Eustase not a cb. I think it's a wise move making him prove he is fit enough before signing him

I liked the boy playing centre half for St Mirren,Jack somebody?

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 17:47:59
gkk the boy had one good game, need to see how he does the full season before we'd have a look at him

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Aug 2015 19:18:45
The boy that was centre half for St Mirren on Friday was Jack Baird who was on Rangers books until he was 15 another one we have discarded, and would cost us to get back now

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Aug 2015 19:54:04
Bluenose,I'm aware of that mate.I'm going with my first impressions of the boy and I think he's got something there. He's far more aggresive in the air and in the tackle than Wilson.
I never needed a full season to clock that.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 20:46:52
The fact that nearly every one of his tackles were fouls is maybe a hint at why he was let go. Luca gasporrotto will be a far better player! Craig Halkett deserves a chance as well rather going out and buying big dumplings.

Hi fellow Bears. I've asked this on here a couple of times this week already. Can anyone tell me what has happened to Murdoch? Is he injured?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2015 15:02:01
He's been playing with the youth side. To be honest I'd like to see him playing in a holding midfield role as I think that's where we are at our weakest. I know the team is still gelling and I'm not complaining as we are night and day compared to last season so far but against hibs and against St mirren we were very vulnerable through the middle in that holding midfield position. 2 out of the 3 goals we've conceded have come from mistakes in that area as was the penalty we conceded against St mirren. A good holding midfielder will allow the full backs and attacking midfielders to get forward without leaving us short at the back.

Right I like to look around at the other leagues all over Europe and South America

Got to say, I am quite impressed with the Colombian attacker, Erik Moreno plying his trade with Braga of Portugal

Only 22 year of age and been tipped for the top a few years back!

He went on loan to Greek Super league outfit Panetolikos, last year, with 7 goals out of 14 games

He goes back to Braga in Sept. chances are not getting first choice upfront!

Can Rangers not look at this type of player? Looks excellent, certainly will bring value to the club

If he had stats like this in English Championship he would be 6m plus player!

Surely worth a punt!!!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

10 Aug 2015 12:54:37
is this Erick Moreno you are on about? I believe he is currently a free agent, and I can see why, the boy never plays first team football, he's scored something like 19 goals in 72 apps, he is 23. personally I don't rate his stats too well, also he doesn't seem to be the kinda player that would fit into Warburtons new looks side.

10 Aug 2015 14:50:06

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 16:30:04
Onlshowaround I wouldn't focus too heavily on stats are you playing FIFA15 again haha

The boys workrate is immense and quick! His scoring has improved the last year and only still 23yo

If you play in the Greek Super League and bang in a goal ever two games, which is considerably better than the Championship and on par with the SPL I can't see why the boy wouldn't be worth a punt! He has the main attributes to his game to suit Scottish football!

Can take him on trial at least and then weigh up options whether worth a contract!

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Aug 2015 11:23:10
Latest news I am hearing is Rangers have decided to loan Scott Allan out to Hibs for one season prior to him signing pre contract agreement in January 2016.

He has according to "insider" at Ibrox signed a virtual pre-pre contract agreement called a "Mason's Handshake" with Mr King.

This has saved Rangers £450k signing fee plus a years wages.

It is also believed that Mr Allan is now rangers unofficial 'spy' at Camp Easter Road

Mr Stubbs has cancelled the Xmas card delivery to the Allans

Players based on their market value (As per Transfermarkt.com) EUROS:
Waghorn - 1Mill
Tavernier - 350,000
Halliday - 350,000
Holt - 250,000
Kiernan - 400,000
Wilson - 500,000
Foderingham - 200,000

Total = 3, 050,000. We spent less than 500k on all of these players, Plus Jordan Thompson and Tommy Lang who I would guess have a rough market value of 100-150k due to interest from Premier league clubs.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

10 Aug 2015 10:12:02
Yes I'm believing all that especially when they have our x player Charlie Telfer only worth 50 Th. €.
Splutter in coffee at this point Marius Zaliukas.400 Th. € and 500 Th. € for Kenny Miller.
Sorry like your figures but in real life you would be lucky to get 1.5 for the lot. No one wanted them I'm afraid hence why we got them for such low price and until we have played a lot more games no one is going to be paying silly money for them soon.Nice thought tho.

Agree1 Disagree2

10 Aug 2015 10:51:50
Hi Ally - yes I had a giggle at Zals and Millers valuations. My point is that for the business he has done I am mightily impressed with. Proof of his acute business sense. I do not wish to be a selling club, but for financial stability that will be a necessity. These players have joined us for game time and European football. 3 years time their ambition is to be signed up to the premier league and we will reap the rewards of that.

Agree0 Disagree3

10 Aug 2015 11:49:54
I don't think nobody wanted tavernier and waghorn these guys would have easily got English championship clubs.

Agree3 Disagree2

10 Aug 2015 12:56:28
From what I've heard Tavernier was wanted by English clubs as his performances for Bristol last season were very good. he chose to come to rangers as players want European football, clearly he seems to think we will have that in the next 3 years.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 14:00:37
Hi Cee, Completely agree with you and Foderingham was wanted by Reading and another un-named championship Club. Lang was heavily sought after by Aston Villa. Halliday and Holt refused contract extensions offered to them to move for free.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 15:08:29
Kiernan and foderingham were both linked with English championship with kiernan very close to signing a deal with Birmingham and reading actively interested in foderingham. Holt woukd have signed a deal at sheff utd had they not lost their manager and tavernier and halliday have looked very good so far. The jury is still out on waghorn in my opinion bit to sum up these players (or most of them) were wanted at championship or top league one level. Both which is of a much higher standard than anything scotland has to offer other than maybe a handful of players at celtic.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 18:05:08
that may be a value dreamed up by some guru in swaziland but to be wort that money u need someone will to pay that amount and there are not many going about

Believable2 Unbelievable5

10 Aug 2015 10:23:58
Not a bad idea Davie1980 - I would prefer to swap him for Law + cash if it were possible. he just isn't a Rangers player for me. If we could make the most of set pieces I believe Temps would be a huge benefit as he will draw fouls all day long. but by the same token he will be injured in about 2 weeks.

10 Aug 2015 11:50:44
Crazy, why get rid of our only senior winger for a midfielder!?

Agree2 Disagree3

10 Aug 2015 12:35:20
Get rid of a winger is that what you call templeton. next game keep an eye on him.he won't be able to take on his defender unless it a through ball from somebody and with allan he burst through people with 1 turn of pace.walsh for me is much better than templeton.templeton will be sold no doubt about it he's not got it now.

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Aug 2015 14:51:52
why would Hibs want Templeton?

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 15:11:25
I agree with davie1980, I'm afraid templeton has had his chance. Like everyone I really wanted him to be successful but he just isn't good enough. I also don't think mackay and aird are good enough. I'd like to see more of walsh and possibly bring in another winger but I can't see us bringing in another winger unless we offload 1 of templeton/mackay/aird.

Agree1 Disagree2

10 Aug 2015 18:07:14
mackay appears to be best of the three

Agree1 Disagree2

11 Aug 2015 08:33:59
don't know why people are writing off Templeton it's clear he is very much in the Managers plans and he will be given a lot more game time to prove himself. Give him a run of 9 or 10 games then see how he is

Interesting Bday facts:
Wilson Dec 27th
Barrie Mckay Dec 31st (21st)
Jordan Thomson Jan 3rd
Davie Templeton Jan 7th
Rob Kiernan Jan 13th
Wes Foderingham Jan 14th
Martyn Waghorn Jan 23rd
Liam Kelly Jan 23th
James Tavernier Jan 27th
Andy Murdoch Jan 30th (21st)
Fraser Aird Feb 2nd (21st)

I believe we may need to have the league won before January lads. Things could get messy.

Don't understand why people are complaining bout valuation on Scott Allen who has played in Scotland and down south when a few year ago we payed 700k + for David templeton and I'd go as far as to say that Scott's a better player. So I'd say 400-500k would be best value for both teams considering he only has one year remaining and the situations got to have an effect on the hibs team

Believable3 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2015 08:22:36
Templeton who's he again? He should be the warning why we shouldn't over pay for a hyped up player. If rangers don't think SA is worth what Hibs want then don't pay it.

10 Aug 2015 11:51:47
Templeton wasn't in the last year of his contract or a championship player!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 18:10:20
and we did not pay £700k for him it was £400k including add ons so I don't think they they would get full £400 k

Coldo some good posts sir. Some fans live in cloud cuckoo land. W&W have us playing some of the best stuff I've saw for ages and on players who cost next to nothing, yet fans still moan we need to spend silly money. We have played the best football in Scotland this season thus far. Yes there have been a few shaky moments in the Hibs and St Mirren games, however some of the Fitba has been top drawer.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2015 09:09:26
Think fans maybe need to calm down a little. I would agree the football is much better and it's been encouraging however we still have a long way to go and still need 2 or 3 more players. We are still a bit lightweight in defence and midfield and need to try and get a goal scorer

Went to the game on Friday night with my grandson.Hadn't been to Ibrox for 4 or 5 years, but was greatly impressed with atmosphere and style of play. Young team, will make mistakes, but we are on the right lines, after the last three disastrous years.
