Queen of the South have recorded two successive wins 2-0 and 3-0 this season at Palmerston, and if we were to meet them in the play offs do we play 4-5-1 away from home to try and nullify the threat of their front players who are very direct and pacey and tend to drop deep to gain possession?
It might not be the preferred option by some of the support but we were defensively naive in the 0-3 defeat.

4-5-1 is away in Europe tactics,it shows you fear and respect the opp too much.
Its a sad state of affairs to play stifling tactics against QOS,but this is where we are at the moment.I also think we were shattered at the end of the first half last night due to the tempo mccall has them playing at,still not fit enough.

They basically play a 362 against us we need to match them in the middle of the park and sit deep they have too much pace and energy. No descent side plays 2 upfront anymore. 4231 should be tried we have the players to make it work.

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - Atletico Madrid played two upfront last season, Real Madrid and Barca are playing 3 up this season.}

Going back to our 3-0 defeat against queen of the south last night I would like to point out that I agree with some of the other posters that I also thought that big mohsni didn't do a lot wrong,he was one of the few last night who actually demonstrated that he cared with what was happening,I know mohsni has made mistakes but I really do think he's a decent centre half when he focuses and seems to get made the scapegoat most of the time when other rangers players get off scott free!

2 mistakes the lob out the park and not getting tight on the goalscorer other than that the midfielders don't get back and help the 2 centre halts.

Jack1,hope I'm not coming across as arrogant here mate but I know ma fitbaw alright as you put it,our manager stuart mccall actually says in this morning's sun newspaper that he thought big mohsni done a lot of terrific things during our game against QOS,I take it he knows nowt about fitbaw as far as you're concerned,NOT!I have been going to gers games for close on 40 years now and I watched big amoruso do similar things to what mohsni does ie.lapses in concentration which did cost us dearly at times but the fans still rated him,all I'm saying is mohsni is definitely a very decent centre half if he cuts out the silly mistakes,I do rate mohsni simple as that

Jack 1,I played the game at county level which is a decent level as you will know if you indeed know your football,I also used to coach a successful under 18 team, anyone who knows me would bow to my football knowledge without being big headed here, people come to me all the time asking my take on football related questions and I swear on that on my late dad's resting place god rest his soul,my football knowledge is terrific my friend and its all about opinions and I'll reiterate what my previous post said ie.mohsni IN MY OPINION is a good centre half when he focuses and cuts out the silly mistakes,he's by far the best in the air out of all our centre halfs!

After all were hearing about naming rights whilst going through the contracts I'm going to bring this up again and proba
Y get a few pelters but I still don't trust the last lot. This would only take 2 min to clear up and I know a lot of fans still would like to se this so, Mr Murray Please take 2 min of your valuable time and stand on the steps of Ibrox and SHOW us The Title Deeds as we've just found out and loads of fans thought we had the naming rights!

Look closely at the dates those IP rights were transferred - 2012. These are not the same ones as are held as loan assets.

You think everyone would have missed that one?

Losing to QOS 3-0 is just not on. No ifs and buts, nothing to defend such an astonishing loss other than an acceptance that we've sadly slipped so low to even defend it. Still a supporter of McCall but this is sheer madness to make sense of it.

qos blocked both wings in defence last night leaving wallace and mc gregor no place to go, I think any team would have struggled against a packed defence like that, 1 shot and they score, I still think it was a foul on wallace, 2nd half gers pushed too many men up and left themselves wide open doug tso

it was simple stuff again mate. Vuckic has NO right foot yet plays as a right mid where he WILL ALWAYS CUT in onto his left foot. Temps has no left foot and always cuts in on his right foot, it's pretty simple to play against that. switch wings and put in some low driven crosses, hits a defender the wrong way it goes in, a striker puts his foot on it and it'll go in. McCall likes to play with wingers, and normally likes a big striker to be upfront, personally for me miller is past it. I'd rather have daly up there as he can challenge for a ball, I love what McCall has done so far, it's a shame he has inherited such a bad team. Law was Hiding most of the game, same for Murdoch, McGregor for me should have made more runs down the wing, even if all it done was take a defender/midfielder with him. it opens up more space! as for Wallace, he was utter crap. I don't think he had one good cross.

10 Apr 2015 11:48:08
Inevitably there are going to be hiccups along the way. QOS had a good game plan and on the night it worked out perfectly for them.

At least unlike Ally, Stuart McCall will learn from any mistakes made.

Still firmly believe we will gain promotion.

10 Apr 2015 12:10:37
thats right but we should have been able to combat that but the goal seconds into second half put the ball up in the slates and we never recovered from that but to have as many corners as we did and failing to capitalise on them indicates lack of punch up front nicky clark gives a full shift but with not enough returns we still suffer from at the back from players playing out of position we need faure back at right back and macgregor back in central defence wallace had a bad game which is unusual but hopefully things can get back on track at the weekend

I thought we were by far the busier team in the first half but didn't have a cutting edge. As somebody said I think they had one shot at goal and scored with it. Clark put in a shift but never looked like he'd score. Same with Miller. Boyd looks about 2 stones overweight. Crawford actually made a bit of an impact when he came on but then gifted the third goal. Moshni did ok for the most part but looked slow to react for the first goal. Don't know why Shiels was left out. Not the kind of game for Vuckic as he likes time on the ball. Forgot Law was playing! Wallace had his poorest night. McGregor did ok. Zal looked slower than me and i'm nearly sixty! At least there was some effort but we really need to do a lot better in the rest of the games if we hope to go up. Fingers crossed for a Hearts win on Sunday. The good thing is we're still in the best position below Hearts. I'm hoping this was a blip

Bit of a shock watching us being taken apart, but agree that it will be fixed. Also agree that Faure better bet at full back. and tbh, didn't see Moshni doing much wrong last night, apart from one howler of a pass. Wallace looked unsure from kick-off, and their two wee guys ragged us all night. Daly could have been better bet up front, agree with poster last night saying Miller and Clark are too similar(aye. neither of then can score consistently!) Got caught p in euphoria like all of us initially, but reality is McCall has only had team for 5 weeks. games coming on fast, and he's under pressure to find players/systems that work. reckon we'll finish second, and then we'll see how McCall sets up for knockout games.Still mystified as to why he dropped Sheils, though, can't fathom that one.

After last night's performance it might be an option to move McGregor to CB and play Faure at RB if he is fit
Shiels apparently was not in the starting 11 as he was carrying an injury.
Playing both Templeton and Vuckic are good offensively but not defensively.
For the match v Raith I would have Daly upfront or on the bench as he gives us another option.Against QOS how many corners did we have and failed to find the target.Hope young Walsh is available as he was excellent before he was injured.
Shiels for Vuckic,Daly for Clark and Walsh for Templeton

Before I start I'm just asking a question, not giving an opinion on right or wrong.
On the back of J.R Tennant's post about Ashley owning the club badge etc I am interested to get folks thoughts on creating a new club/corporate identity, thus rendering the current one useless to Ashley.
I know this idea is likely to stick in the throat of most (and rightly so) but swallowing it down and moving forward may be the best option.
Let's face it, the fans are the fans and Rangers are Rangers to those that love them. There have been a few badge/crest changes over the years so why not now?
Basically what would folk prefer?
Accepting Ashley's dominance and being treated liked good little gimps or showing that Rangers fans can be adaptable, proud and strong by giving him the old two finger salute and moving forward. It could be the making of Rangers as a modern club.
For what it's worth, if I don't agree with something I refuse to simply moan and go along with it anyway. Remember, Ashley needs the fans to be good little gimps for this ownership to be worth anything. Without the fans he has ownership of nothing.

if this is the case with Ashley and we can not get out of these contracts I would rather the club made a new cooperate identity than give Ashley another penny in the mean time we the fans should seek someone one to make us tops strips ect so that the fans can buy instead of filling Ashley pockets for the new season once tops payed for donate all the other money to our club so they can use it to invest in the club that way Ashley will have to come to the table and negotiate or his trademarks retail deal will be worthless this is one way to sort him and I think this it what it will take

The latest farcical news about Ashley owning Rangers' intellectual property is yet another sign of the crooked old regime. This must be investigated and questions asked why the outgoing Board signed over these rights in the last days of their corrupt tenure. Failure to conduct a company's affairs in accordance with good corporate governance can be illegal. Other thing is - create a new badge and crest with subtle changes and tell Ashley that what he's got is worthless. As for the game last night, well it is a reality check before we all get carried away. I fail to understand how a team can beat Hearts, Hibs and three SPL teams this year then play like this against teams they should be beating. Maybe this will now be a true test of McCall's managerial talents and tactics. One question to ask - why not persist with Aird, Shiels, Daly and even Black for a while? Miller, Boyd and McCulloch are spent forces as are Foster and Smith. It seems we get a glimpse of good news one day then two bouts of bad news the next!
