What? Of all the world class players at ibrox? Sorry mate, long long way away for me,

2.) 20 Nov 2020 20:08:20
I was too young to have seen him play, but I came across johnstone a few times outside of football and he came across as an arrogant, sarcastic wee roaster who was always on the scrounge for punters to buy him drink in whatever pub he stoated in to.

3.) 20 Nov 2020 21:05:45
I met Jimmy before he died a few times and couldn’t have met a nicer guy, I also work with his son and have done for a few years they are a lively family.

Jimmy Johnstone was a magnificent and gifted footballer, Scottish George Best of his day. Unfortunately shared some of the same demons as Best and much later Gascogne.

Between both old firm clubs without being biased, davie cooper is the most talented winger i've ever seen IMHO 👌.

6.) 20 Nov 2020 21:20:56
Tomthumb12 and every bear in general on here a question. Going by the inflated transfer market of today, what price would you value the talent that was davie cooper, going by today's prices with wingers that couldn't lace coop's boots 🤔🤔 What price would you expect to fetch from a club wishing to buy davie cooper 🤔.

7.) 20 Nov 2020 22:10:53
Jimmy Johnstone was a changed man after he gave up the drink, but I witnessed him pull an absolute dirty trick on a big guy I know who was Celtic daft and worshipped Johnstone which led to the big man nearly throttling him during his drinking days.
He was certainly a better human being after giving up the drink, but he never gave Agnes and the kids much of a life before that. Anyone in Viewpark and Bellshill not blinkered by who he was will testify to that.

It's hard to say coops. Who knows if many of them would have played today?, the games changed the likes of gazza cooper etc have all admitted to not being great trainers, u can't get away with that this day n age.

9.) 20 Nov 2020 22:43:32
Coops, impossible but irresistible

Davie Cooper £50m
George Best. £70m
Gaza £60m
Jim Baxter. £40m
Jimmy Johnstone £45m.

Good for you BMGH am only giving my opinion on someone I met a few times and he wasn’t anything like you say but hey ho.

11.) 21 Nov 2020 06:55:21
Cooper was unlike anyone even seen in Scotland, even Britain, and possibly even now, the only player I can think of over the past 50 years with Davies unique ball manipulation was probably Glen Hoddle, with Le Tissier close, and cost? Impossible to judge.

12.) 21 Nov 2020 07:05:06
My valuations of your list of players above in this over inflated transfer market of today going by their undoubted talent would be-
DAVIE COOPER-£70MILLION
PAUL GASCOIGNE-£100MILLION
GEORGE BEST-£120MILLION
JIM BAXTER-£50MILLION
JIMMY JOHNSTONE-£50MILLION.

13.) 21 Nov 2020 10:01:47
Even today and even with the talent these guys had, no-one in the UK would or WILL pay that for a player out of Scotland.
NOW if they were all producing in England what we saw up here, we can talk then of 70 mill + each, for ALL of them.

14.) 21 Nov 2020 10:07:27
Tomthumb12, agree Cooper was magnificent player and had an end product. With exception of George Best believe best British forward in last 50 years.

15.) 21 Nov 2020 12:29:29
Having a laugh if Baxter valued at 50 million. All five would go for in excess 80 million each. Fgs big ch Man U sold for 75 million.
I would say these guys all on a par with Bale.
