I'm trying my best to be as positive as I can, but I'm struggling to see where we can pick up any points In these 2 games?! Our defence is a shambles, and with players like Salah, Nunez and Diaz up against them, I fear the worst. The only game I see up picking up a point at most is against Ajax at home. Accuse me of being negative all you want (some inevitably will), but that's where we are right now, whether we like it, or don't. Queue the 'try supporting the team' retorts. ??.

I can’t see where the points will come from, some can shout and stamp their feet on supporting our team but we are in a very tough group with three team away ahead of us in terms of players, our cup final was reaching the group stages where we then we failed to strengthen, we are basically last years team minus two of our best players in Bassey and Aribo so weaker.

Said it before I feel we are (current team) WAY out our depth in the CL group stages. Hard to say whether we would have picked up points with last year's team, tactics, intensity etc. Def improvement against ajax but the red and their quality eventually was too much. As much as the glamour and money us great it just opens us up to potential doings which in turn creates massive negativity and ill feeling in the fans towards the team and club. I've been crying out for a redesign of european tournaments but as it stands the EL is our level. Just my opinion.

If Gio picks self preservation team and tactics then we will still get beat whether we go down to 10 men as quality teams will pick us off eventually.

Was listening to a sports science podcast and they were discussing the Liverpool squad - in terms of fatigue related injuries and reduced performance metrics this season.

During it they referenced that Liverpool played 63 competitive games last season and were basically saying it pushed their players to far.

After it I looked at us and we played 65. Can't be a coincidence in that we've both seen such a dramatic fall off in performances.

Rangers had a pretty gruelling season which ultimately ended in real disappointment in the Europa cup final, Liverpool had a similar end to their season also in the Champions league final. It may well be a bit speculative but is it beyond the realms of possibility. Sometimes in sport it can be hard to pick yourself up when you’ve been that close to to winning something big only to fall at the last hurdle. Please don’t mention the Scottish cup win it wasn’t the one we all wanted.
