Anyone picking anything up on this Steven Alzate rumour 25 yr old Columbian CM from Brighton? Apparently last 6 months of his contract.

WeeRidVan

1.) 04 Jan 2024 23:02:17
Looks a good addition.

2.) 04 Jan 2024 23:19:30
Aye . rumour has it gazza is on his way!

3.) 04 Jan 2024 23:41:23
He's been out with a serious injury hopefully that means we're not offering him a three year contract.

4.) 05 Jan 2024 00:02:43
Been on loan at standard leige the last 18 months, and by all accounts would be an upgrade in our 6/ 8 role, Brighton would rather recoup some form of a fee this month than lose him in the summer. 7 caps for Colombia aswell I believe.

5.) 05 Jan 2024 00:47:58
Gresley, that means that’s exactly what we’ll offer him ?.

6.) 05 Jan 2024 03:09:31
It's not a serious injury, He's to return in 2 weeks.

7.) 05 Jan 2024 07:38:53
He is the exact type of midfielder we are missing, can take the ball in tight spaces, can beat a man, can carry the ball and keep the ball moving, also got a bit about him and doesn't mind getting stuck in, he is a kamara type but more forward thinking, think he would be a good addition.

8.) 05 Jan 2024 08:53:26
What’s serious about a sprained ankle lol?

9.) 05 Jan 2024 08:55:36
Brighton have not extended His deal so available on a bosman.

10.) 05 Jan 2024 09:36:02
If he’s that good clubs would be queuing up for him? As he’s on a possible free.

11.) 05 Jan 2024 10:15:42
Not a praised ankle monty, he has a Syndesmotic ligament tear.

12.) 05 Jan 2024 12:11:17
Last night it said sprained ankle on transfer market it has now changed to why Jfm says reason I know is I checked it last night.

13.) 05 Jan 2024 12:33:13
A medical would sort it out storm, problem is depending on severity of ligament tear it can be 6 weeks to 6 months recovery, we have enough of that going on at rangers.

14.) 05 Jan 2024 13:27:57
Tears can be hard to come back from
As foot may not be as strong feeling n player go into a confidence thing as scared to put too much pressure on as before

Look at molls he was never at 100% after his injury.

Does anyone know when Zak Lovelace is due to return from Injury?

WeeRidVan

1.) 22 Dec 2023 12:24:04
I think he's training with the first team.

2.) 22 Dec 2023 13:04:17
He has been training since last week.

3.) 22 Dec 2023 13:32:43
I read he was back training, but with a bad hamstring injury like he had they`ll be careful with him . Could be a big chance for him when he gets fit with Danilo and Roofe out injured.

4.) 22 Dec 2023 13:59:27
Wsl he was due to get minutes today with b team but game cancelled.

5.) 22 Dec 2023 17:21:01
Any news on Raskin and Jack returning from injury?

6.) 22 Dec 2023 18:37:44
John227, good to hear he is ready to play again, he would be a definite option off the bench with Roofe joining Danilo on the treatment table .

7.) 22 Dec 2023 19:39:20
100% Wsl. Him and yefeko r at present our best academy players.

11 Nov 2023 10:10:36
Not sure if it's been mentioned but Yfeko got an extension to 2026 yesterday.

WeeRidVan

1.) 11 Nov 2023 10:45:54
Probably go out on loan in January, these guys need football at that age.

2.) 11 Nov 2023 11:32:25
Totally agree jzer.

3.) 11 Nov 2023 11:38:03
Similar to Lowry he needs to go and play at best possible level to see where he’s at. He def has the potential to make us a few quid.

4.) 11 Nov 2023 12:00:22
Yes WeeRidvan I think this is fantastic news. I was impressed with some of his performances in pre season, still rough round the edges but has plenty of potential. I think with Big Phil the lads development is in safe hands. With young Bailey Rice also signing a new contract and a new contract being offered to Ross McAusland the future certainly looks bright.

5.) 11 Nov 2023 13:11:25
Good stuff got the potential to be a very good player for us or a large profit - either outcome its good news.

6.) 11 Nov 2023 13:30:34
I think he`s another one that needs a year or two to count as " home grown" by our Academy so hopefully he will be one for the future.

22 Oct 2023 09:59:56
What do we reckon big Simas going to cost at the end of the season? He has a deal to 2025, cost Brighton around £6million in 2021. Are we in with a chance of making it permanent the way he is playing? I don't see him playing at Brighton fancy them to cash in after a good season here. How many would be comfortable with a big chunk of next years kitty going on Sima?

WeeRidVan

1.) 22 Oct 2023 10:17:13
Wee, Sima keeps on impressing he could be a regular for Brighton next season, according to many Sima wasn't any good, we are now seeing the performances like we seen when he ran the show against us.

2.) 22 Oct 2023 10:18:44
Best we can hope for is another years loan. We have to much of a rebuild to be spending the guts end of 8 to 10 million on one player.

3.) 22 Oct 2023 10:38:05
The boy has a choice to make, my star, on whether he wants to be a small fish in a massive pool, or a big fish in a small pool. The boy is on fire up here, but If he decides to go back to Brighton, he'll struggle to get in that team. Infact, he'll struggle to get anywhere near it!

4.) 22 Oct 2023 11:00:49
You reckon raisetheroofe I don't, Sima keeps on performing like he is now he'll score over 20 goals for us this season and i believe Brighton will definitely use him, but i hope not and he's a Rangers player next season.

5.) 22 Oct 2023 11:19:34
Would that be 20 goals in a "poor league", my star? So, after telling everyone how "poor" our league is (it is, and you're right), you're saying Sima would walk back into one of the EPL's top half teams because he scores 20 goals against "poor" opposition, in such a "poor" league? As an ex player, and the forums resident "expert", you must be aware that it doesn't work that way, don't you?

6.) 22 Oct 2023 11:23:27
My star I have a bet that sima will score 25 goals this season, very nice bottle of red.

7.) 22 Oct 2023 11:41:05
Raisetheroofe do we play in a good league, my answer definitely not, doesn't Sima score crackers in Europe, you think he wouldn't get into the Brighton team I think he will if he keeps on progressing.

John very good bet mate.

8.) 22 Oct 2023 12:07:25
Well, I don't my star, and I would bet my house that I'm right.
Just like you mate, I'm always prepared to say what I think, and stick to it, so we'll see how it pans out.
I honestly hope that Brighton don't want him back, and that we have a chance to sign him full time.

9.) 22 Oct 2023 12:13:39
Come the summer he will have only 1 year left on his contract so maybe a deal to be had. Roofe, Star said he he keeps playing well and gets over 20 goals Brighton will use him, bit different from saying he will walk into their team. Worth noting their top 2 scorers last season were Gross and MacAllister with 9 and 10 goals.

10.) 22 Oct 2023 12:17:42
Roofe

We all know how EPL perceive our level play up here. Subsequently they'll always find way downing Sima performances up here. They'll always give he's got to be good in our league. That's just superlative rubbish. A player who can possibly score 30 a season in any league good. That just hopeful, but regarding looking forward, Brighton won't see European football, gers certainly will, big pull any player so let's see.

11.) 22 Oct 2023 12:38:23
We need to enjoy Sima while we can since I suspect that he will simply get better under Clement and will go back to Brighton at the end of the Season and will be part of their squad next season.

Even if we have serious funds available for transfers we won't have the money to secure this guy.

This is why we need a to quality DoF and Scouting System; so that we can pick up players that will develop like Sima and not cost us a fortune.

12.) 22 Oct 2023 12:46:52
Sima was poor at the start of the season and a bit like Sakala he will divide opinion as he has some poor moments in games.

However, Brighton are a top half club in the epl and for me he would struggle to get a game at that level.

13.) 22 Oct 2023 13:28:07
I think you'll win your bottle of nice red john227?Sima imo also is capable of scoring 25 goals this season ?.

14.) 22 Oct 2023 13:54:18
Brighton are likely to lose mitoma in the summer for upwards of £70/ 80m

Fati will go back to Barcelona

If clement keeps improving sima he will likely get a chance as a squad player for Brighton.

15.) 22 oct 2023 14:24:11
there may well be other clubs watching sima this season, brighton could conceivably double they're money quickly.

16.) 22 Oct 2023 14:37:51
We've not such rebuild. We've a few positions we need to strengthen but the guys will come good.

17.) 22 Oct 2023 14:24:48
Sima not good enough for Brighton and one decent performance yesterday doesn't mean he has turned a corner. there was a few times yesterday that sima made the wrong decision by cutting in or he gave the ball away by trying something silly. hopefully he kicks on but I think the likes of Lammers Dessers Sima maybe the first to be replaced in the transfer windows.

18.) 22 Oct 2023 17:38:29
One decent performance gers?

23 Jul 2023 10:48:08
Fashion Jr must stay.

WeeRidVan

1.) 23 Jul 2023 11:04:14
Must is very extreme he’s technically very poor and scored a goal from a mistake and won a penalty that’s questionable whether it was in the box or not. He’s not the standard we need too many poor touches, shots, passes, crosses. We need clinical and he’s anything but. Looked good compared to Sima and Matondo but that was concerningly easy. He’s a squad player at best but the more you limit his minutes you limit the 10 chances he needs to do 1 thing good.

2.) 23 Jul 2023 11:22:53
I'd still be keeping he's definitely tricky and defenders don't like him he will score more a season than Kent did least he tries.

3.) 23 Jul 2023 11:24:28
Why is it questionable if it was in the box, on the line is a penalty. His pressuring the defender led to the goal. Goal and assist and still doesn't get credit.

4.) 23 Jul 2023 11:27:35
I know what you’re saying David but I feel it’s a little harsh. He can be technically poor at times but his work rate and pace means he can offer a lot to the team at times. The goal might of come from a mistake but that’s because he was chasing down and putting pressure on the defender, as Beale wants our forwards to do. And it was a penalty. The rules state that even if a foul may start outside the box, if it continues inside it then it’s a penalty, and in that case even if the first contact was maybe just outside, it definitely continues into the box. Sakala is a useful player to have. Even though he can be frustrating and can go from the sublime to the ridiculous within the same move he does provide good numbers in terms of goals and assists. If I was the manager and was to be told I could only keep one of Sakala, Matondo and Hagi, I’d probably have to chose Sakala. Yes Hagi is the better footballer but unfortunately I still can’t work out his position in the team. He doesn’t have the pace to play effectively in a forward position and doesn’t have the positional sense or work rate for one of the midfield positions. To me he’ll spend a lot of the time on the bench when you look at the other options we now have.

5.) 23 Jul 2023 11:43:12
Gers he’s a squad player at best.
With all forwards fit he won’t start most games.
Since he came in all three managers have used him like that, that tells its own story.
I believe we would sell if the right offer came along,
And at this stage of his career he may want to play regularly.

6.) 23 Jul 2023 11:48:26
It was a stonewall pen it’s amazing what some fans will say when they don’t like a player just to try and make him worse than he is and it’s embarrassing.

7.) 23 Jul 2023 11:50:49
Goal and assist which was more than Lammers, Sima, Roofe and Dessers all contributed.
Yes it was only a friendly but we have already lost a lot of goals from the team ( Morelos, Arfield, Colak, Tillman ) which all need to be replaced by the new players.

8.) 23 Jul 2023 11:56:18
Is that the bench mark? He scores more than Kent! Respectfully Kent was not worth what we paid and I for one is looking forward to seeing a rangers team without him in it! Sakala I gives everything but I think from the bench if at all.

9.) 23 Jul 2023 13:00:28
If we’re pinning our hopes on sakala this year then god help us.

10.) 25 Jul 2023 19:56:58
Alloa, we've worse players at the club.

11.) 25 Jul 2023 19:58:00
Mph, we didn't score enough goals last year.

We need to take what people are willing to pay. Too often on here people just stick 3 names together and say that should be £15million brought in easy. I think people are going to be upset when they see what we end up getting for Kamara aswell. Ajer had a good season won a treble and had suitors. We are trying to get rid of guys that aren't good enough for a sub par Rangers Team.

I know the wee man has a lot of doubters on here but I think we will regret this. I give it 6 weeks of watching Sima and everyone will think we will have gave away a superior player to fit one that's not even ours. Hope I'm proved wrong and wish Fashion all the best if he does move.

Go For a lot can happen in 6 months. I for one am very glad we stumped up the money for Cantwell and Raskin. I'm sure I will feel the same about Cifuentes. If Raskin keeps progressing we will be lucky to keep him past January.

Found it very interesting when asked about McCausland and his young age last week his reply "He's 20 he is not young". Makes me think if they are not ready to play 1st team by then we will start moving them on. Hopefully we will no longer be harbouring boys in their early to mid 20s who are never going to kick a ball for us.
