Rangers and Arsenal were very close at one time and when Arsenal were in difficulty Rangers helped them out financially, can anyone explain why when we we're in difficulty ie 2012 Arsenal didn't reciprocate.

dont think they had 160 million spare mate.

2.) 09 Feb 2021 21:27:31
Because that was a long time ago and not the same people on the board.
We had shares in arsenal but am sure whyte or green sold them.

3.) 09 Feb 2021 22:14:19
Craig whyte sold our shares in arsenal to a rich arsenal fan for 250k.

4.) 09 Feb 2021 22:16:41
the charles green regime whisked away the two of arsenals original shares we possessed. worth a few bob. no answers despite questions as to what happened to them. given when rangers played a couple of games with them to save them from liquidation.

5.) 09 Feb 2021 22:32:28
It wasn’t green it was white who told Sandy to fetch the shares and take copies of the, there are 200 I believe and the copies are still at ibrox.

6.) 09 Feb 2021 22:33:11
Sorry it may have been that white sold them for 200k.

7.) 09 Feb 2021 22:58:43
SGL was it a fan? As I thought it was one of the major shareholders at the time it was the Russian that isn’t there anymore but could be wrong.

8.) 10 Feb 2021 07:29:03
If my memory serves me correctly KJA9,it was a rich arsenal supporter who whyte sold our shares in arsenal to. He was a dirty scumbag b*****d that whyte as of course it was a gift from herbert chapman of arsenal many years ago, who was very friendly with bill struth 👍Herbert gave rangers the arsenal woolwich shares as a gift for helping them out with money difficulties a few years before 👍When Whyte sold the shares it actually reduced our greatest ranger john greig to tears, as those shares were one of our most treasured possessions we had at the club 😞.

9.) 10 Feb 2021 08:34:13
Just looked it up SGL and I was right it was usmanov the Russian 2nd biggest arsenal shareholder at the time am sure he has nothing to do with arsenal anymore because the American wouldn’t sell his shares to him.

I think arsenal would have been better off going with the usmanov.

{Ed001's Note - he is with Everton now.}

10.) 10 Feb 2021 10:18:37
U r correct re usmanov buying the shares.

11.) 10 Feb 2021 12:49:07
Ed I new he went elsewhere as the American guy kronke? I think had more shares and usmanov ended up giving up on them.

{Ed001's Note - yeah Kroenke refused to sell so eventually Usmanov joined his employee Moshiri at Everton.}

KAJ9, I named those 3 because in general there not good enough not just because of today's game,

Stevie has just admitted we did not deserve a win and will look at it for next games Ian.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 16:53:21
I think we need jack or Davo in midfield, surprised both left out . need a wee reminder that nothing has been won. upwards and onwards.

3.) 07 Feb 2021 18:46:15
That’s only your opinion and I disagree.

07 Feb 2021 15:31:33
KJA9, I picked those 3 because in my humble opinion there not good enough, on today's showing anyone could be accused of not being good enough except greegs. It's about opinions and some on here don't respect that.

Roofe was really poor against St Johnstone and Celtic and looked miles off the pace. Other times though he looks really good.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 16:05:55
None of the starting line up was good today other than McGregor so you were single out when they were 7 other players just as bad.

3.) 07 Feb 2021 16:27:51
Roofe has come back from injury. He was flying before that.

07 Feb 2021 15:07:27
Gerrard and Wilson must see something in zungu, itten and roofe that nobody else can.

Ian durrant

1.) 07 Feb 2021 15:15:30
A bog harsh mate. I think Zungu us poor bug Roofe been very good and Itten is a good sub.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 15:15:53
Roofe has been good this season so has itten (but he doesn’t get enough game time) he also had no service whatsoever and what about the other players that started who were rank rotten? Why single out those 3?

3.) 07 Feb 2021 15:18:59
Couldn’t agree more as974.

4.) 07 Feb 2021 15:20:45
To me there was, no leadership when it was needed . no drive. To be honest we've been ropey the last few weeks but celtics form has taken focus of how poor we have been for the majority of the last few weeks, .

5.) 07 Feb 2021 15:24:30
I'll give you Zungu, but not the other 2. Roofe has proven how good a footballer he is since he came, and even with limited time on the park, so has Itten. One thing is for sure, big Itten's best position is not as the lone striker. Play him upfront with another striker, or on the right where he has been effective before.

6.) 07 Feb 2021 15:31:39
Yes gp, our captain is not a leader, by example or any other way.
His defensive performance erodes any attacking performance he has had. His failure to run back after he gives the ball away upfield, his overhit crossed and inability to get close to an attacker in important areas should not be overlooked because he has a decent attacking record in part of this season.

7.) 07 Feb 2021 15:41:38
Where was Tav for the Hamilton goal?

8.) 07 Feb 2021 15:51:48
Unbeaten still and it's all Tav's fault we drew with Hamilton.
We have no God given right to win a football game when in McGregorsw words "we were rubbish"!

9.) 07 Feb 2021 16:09:01
Not saying all tav’s fault but 30s to go he is nowhere to b seen in his position.

Sorry guys in my post I forgot to say, " whatever happened to being humble in victory and gracious in defeat ".

Not in their vocabulary, Ian. Since when have tbey been either tbh?

2.) 03 Jan 2021 09:10:27
Always cheated, Never defeated is the Tim mantra.
Lennon said he was a poor referee. Well he got that right. Took forever to book Soro after numerous fouls and should have sent off the Derry Donkey for his hatchet job on Kent.
Plus factor in we've reduced Brown ( who used to be the beating heart of the Celtic side ) to a bit part player who's only role now is to wind up opposition players to try and get them sent off. Culminating in him Brown simulating getting hit in the face to get Morelos sent off. Embarrassing from the so called hard man of Scottish football.

3.) 03 Jan 2021 10:00:32
I also think we would have got a draw if soro never got sent aff and i wouldve took a draw b4 the game.

4.) 03 Jan 2021 14:53:39
Soro never got sent
Off dsgers it was bitton Soro got subbed for brown mate.

3 cheers I couldn’t give a dam who you are, all I said was I liked coops. In regards to your defence of our manager it’s him who picks the players that you said missed the chances and defended poorly so who is to blame for a poor performance.
