Heard a rumour today olaru was linked again I’m sure someone mentioned this few days ago could it have legs? 4 main targets being spoken too. 2-3 this window and pre contracts for rest however negotiations go. John, Beale this on your radar?

I’ve only seen this lad on YouTube videos but he looks to have a similar style to Kamara. It could be a chance worth taking if the deal is cheap enough, and the club have scouted him. Ideally, I’d like guys like Gilmour and Raskin in because they represent real quality - But that seems unrealistic.
I have absolutely no idea what will happen next month. If Morelos and Kent don’t sign new deals soon maybe the club will need to sell them for whatever they can before losing them for nothing. In which case, we’ll be looking for a striker and a winger, not a midfielder.
If we lose to Celtic on the 2nd of January the gap goes to twelve points, we’re already out of Europe, and it’s officially season over. We may as well begin the squad rebuild at that point and get ready for next season. This season really has been nothing short of a disaster from a Rangers point of view.

If we’ve missed out on Raskin then I’d say Gilmour needs to be a priority target. He’s only 21, he’s won the Champions League, and he’s bossed games at the very highest level of club and international football. Apparently he's available for loan in Janaury, maybe even with an option to buy at the end of the season. This is someone who can be at the heart of our football club, and the Scottish international team, for the next decade. We’ll struggle to find better at our price point.

Look at the SPFL table - Celtic have only dropped only 3 points during their first 19 league games. Rangers are currently 9 points behind with a goal difference that basically means we need Celtic to drop 10 points in their remaining 19 league fixtures. Rangers are already out of Europe, and if we don’t win on the 2nd of January, it’s season over.

Brighton are apparently open to loaning him out in January. Rangers could bring him in with an option to buy in the summer so no need for a huge outlay next month. Also, from what I’ve read his wages are closer to £38k/ week. We could potentially lose two of the highest earners at the club in Morelos and Kent so that might not be an issue for us come the summer. Gilmour needs regular first-steam football and may even accept a pay cut to get that up here in Glasgow.
Also, he doesn’t qualify as home grown? That’s not a reason to pass on a potentially great player. We have McCrorie, Devine, Lowry, King, and others coming through to help with the European squads.

Why is moving from Chelsea to Norwich to Brighton - a failure?
I watched him many times for Norwich and he was streets ahead of all other midfielders in that team.
I would say its only his build/ stature that goes against him at moment.
Is Adam Lallana therefore a failure because he left Liverpool for Brighton - its the EPL where the boy will be up against top players most weeks - he can see a pass then pass and receive the ball in tight situations - the things most of our players against Mwell - COULD NOT DO!

I will welcome Gilmour if he signs. Yes we have some good young players but it really is all about winning for me. Getting our League Title Back and going as far as possible in Europe. That means having the best players available. What is more, in what is a long season our young players will get their chance irrespective of who is in our squad if they are good enough!
