Is Cerny worse than Kent?

DaddyLongLegs

1.) 04 Sep 2024 07:35:29
What a ridiculous post to make after a few games.

2.) 04 Sep 2024 07:36:57
It's early days. Right now he looks average. Then again there's not many looking better.

3.) 04 Sep 2024 07:41:39
I think I'll give him a bit of time.

4.) 04 Sep 2024 08:23:35
Agreed Parlane ?.

5.) 04 Sep 2024 08:35:33
We forgetting how bad sima was in his first couple Games.

6.) 04 Sep 2024 08:36:57
Clueless timmy boy.

7.) 04 Sep 2024 09:02:54
Cerny has more brains and football intelligence in one foot that Kent had in entire body and can actually see a final pass -hope that answers the question succinctly?.

8.) 04 Sep 2024 09:29:11
Maybe not but Matondo certainly is worse than Kent. People can diss his goal contributions but his ball carrying and work rate were excellent and something that we’ve not replaced. Nobody can tell me we wouldn’t be a better team with Kent in it.

9.) 04 Sep 2024 09:39:32
Davidb - Kents contribution in last season was horrendous and partially the reason we are in such a poor financial state at moment by paying 7 mill up front and no return (boards fault) and a huge wage bill over his time here- so the handful of good games in my eyes were easily overshadowed by the vast amount of drivel and mediocrity we saw in later seasons when he was just coasting and picking up a very large wage - BTW he was not the only one in that very big boat.

10.) 04 Sep 2024 09:43:17
Cernys only fault for me is that he's clearly one footed, more crosses with his right or play on the left to keep defenders guessing, but he's got a brain and good delivery with his left.

11.) 04 Sep 2024 09:44:59
Worse in what way? Dress sense?

12.) 04 Sep 2024 09:46:18
I was watching some Europa League stuff on YouTube and you know Kent was a great player for us at times.

13.) 04 Sep 2024 09:54:07
Well it's not as if he was told how bad he was, oh wait he was by one of our dafter followers.

14.) 04 Sep 2024 09:56:37
As it currently stands, yes. Cerny has no pace to play on the wing. He always cuts in on his left. Far too predictable. Sadly we have regressed on and off the park.

15.) 04 Sep 2024 09:56:57
Ffs give the guy a fair chance I think he's scored 1 and setup 2 goals in 5 games.

16.) 04 Sep 2024 10:06:32
Diesel, his performance against Dortmund in germany was absolutely outstanding. Just couldn't do it consistently but for anybody to say he is/ was crap is wrong. Definitely had the skill and talent, unfortunately I don't think he is the sharpest tool in the box.

17.) 04 Sep 2024 10:41:49
My Star responds with clueless timmy boy! What can one say to that, it was a valid question but My Star opted to ignore it and instead resorted to calling a lifelong Gers supporter a Tim ?.

18.) 04 Sep 2024 10:54:38
He throw the toys out the pram the last season and a half so Kent wouldn’t make any team better.

19.) 04 Sep 2024 11:32:05
My post was in the wrong place guys?.

20.) 04 Sep 2024 11:50:25
Disagree Stromtrooper, Kent would stand out in this team. Tore Celtic up and many top Euro teams. Something went wrong with him, granted but he would walk into this team.

21.) 04 Sep 2024 11:53:17
Daddylonglegs, I have come to realise that's what he does. He lacks the knowledge to debate and instead throws insults. A couple of the guys on here pointed this out to me a few days ago. Its who he is.

22.) 04 Sep 2024 12:13:40
Kent turned up in a lot of old firms and scored a few i'd have taken him over any our wing options on sunday.

23.) 04 Sep 2024 12:36:50
Cerny will bring far more goal contributions, Kent hasn't got the capability to see the passes Cerny sees, that better longlegs.

24.) 04 Sep 2024 13:36:55
I'm not so sure Cerny will have any impact against Celtic. Whereas Kent scored a few against Celtic and set up a few. You might want to rethink that Sky.

25.) 04 Sep 2024 13:57:16
Coldo or RayGer now, Cerny is just a better player than Kent in my opinion.

26.) 04 Sep 2024 13:58:54
Cerny can see things Kent couldn't dream about.

27.) 04 Sep 2024 14:15:08
Like league title or EL Final or tearing Celtic apart? Those dreams?

28.) 04 Sep 2024 14:24:35
Cerny is more of a team player than Kent ever was. Barasic face when he raced up the line for Kent to ignore him cut infield and lose the ball. how many times, 100s to the extend Borna stopped trying.

29.) 04 Sep 2024 14:48:54
Coldo, what I'm taking about is vison, Kent could only dream about Cerny's passing range.

I am happy with the ins and outs, that was a huge effort to remove many off the payroll and replace them with new more affordable players. Looking at the squad there still others that need moving on, but that will be the next task come January. The striker role remains an issue with the unconvincing Dessers or Danilo with his injuries, but top strikers don't come cheap and we haven't got the money. Welcome back Hagi time to prove the doubters wrong!

DaddyLongLegs

1.) 31 Aug 2024 08:56:09
I concur. Years of mismanagement have begun to be put right. This is a long haul bears. Fingers crossed these signings work out better better than the vast majority of previous 5 years worth!

2.) 31 Aug 2024 10:36:09
Dessers looks convincing to me. If he took on the toll of penalties he would be banging in over 30.

3.) 31 Aug 2024 12:23:15
Think he'll not be far away from that without penalties tbh.

21 Aug 2024 08:40:59
Im getting worried Cantwell is going nowhere this window perhaps because nobody wants him but on the other hand maybe he is content to play for the B team and collect £22k a week and £1.1m a year with an easy life. Who on here would say no to that? Problem is, we cannot buy without selling.

DaddyLongLegs

1.) 21 Aug 2024 09:12:43
We need to curtail stating the obvious.
Perhaps he was a bargain buy because he was hard to manage. a problem.

2.) 21 Aug 2024 09:29:14
I reckon he will move late in the window, so unless we have a replacement ready and able to sign it will be too late to get a replacement.

3.) 21 Aug 2024 09:32:12
He's not playing with the b team, he's nowhere to be seen.

4.) 21 Aug 2024 09:33:59
We will probably allow him to leave on loan at the end of the window.

5.) 21 Aug 2024 09:44:21
Or for free?.

6.) 21 Aug 2024 10:17:32
TBH, I'm getting concerned nobody else is going this window. Imo, we need at least 3 more to go out of a possible 7/ 8.

7.) 21 Aug 2024 10:19:31
Cantwell has multiple offers on the table - hence why he's nowhere to be seen.

Very much out of our hands.

8.) 21 Aug 2024 11:24:47
I hear Drumchapel Amateurs have asked about a loan, damn good outfit back in my day ?

Unfortunately he can be a player on his day, attitude seems to stink though. Looks like gaffer tried the arm round the shoulder and the kick up the chorus and verse, nothing seems to work with the boy unfortunately, my humble opinion he needs to go, would his attitude change in pastures new? God only knows.

9.) 21 Aug 2024 13:06:34
Not s good as Drumchapel United or for that mattered anniesland college bonnet.

10.) 21 Aug 2024 13:14:19
You can`t accuse him of being content to play in the B team (he hasn`t actually played in the B team) and pick up his wages . He actually asked for a transfer, so making it obvious he wants to leave . That will actually cost him a percentage of any fee. If he was the type of person you are implying he wouldn`t have done it that way he would have done it your way. You would be better looking at Hagi if you want to accuse someone . Messages that he wants to go when he is abroad, from him, his agent and even his dad but now that he`s back and he can`t get a move he is recanting what he said.

11.) 21 Aug 2024 13:17:21
Cantwell has enough talent to make a good career but his attitude is ridiculous. Cantwell will end up playing his football in the lower leagues unless he addresses it now. Shame I remember predicting at the start of last season that he'd be in the hunt for player of the year! ??.

12.) 21 Aug 2024 14:37:24
I like Cantwell as s player he’s decent compared to what we have but clearly has fallen out with Clements. Hagi I think wants to play for us but has been told he is not wanted so has no option but to seek another team. I may have that wrong but just my thoughts.

13.) 21 Aug 2024 15:02:38
Yes very wrong daddy, Hagi asked to leave just the same as Cantwell but no transfer request like him.

14.) 21 Aug 2024 15:55:01
Who's Cantwell never heard if him? if he wants to be a fud and have no match fitness, playing and putting himself in the shop window, then let him rot. Not one ounce of sympathy for him, made his bed and pished it. He could've played and done us a job.

15.) 21 Aug 2024 15:57:33
Surely with all these goings on with Cantwell he must be in Breach of Contract, can we not just sack him and get him off the wage bill, just an opinion guys.

20 Aug 2024 21:42:24
How is it Bodo Glimt with an average crowd attendance of only 7,000 compared to Rangers 48,000 can compete consistently in the champions league and we are no where near it? Rangers turnover £84m and Bodo £20m?

DaddyLongLegs

1.) 20 Aug 2024 22:22:23
Cos their hard as nails, play near or in the artic circle, play as a team and the manager gets the best out of them.

2.) 20 Aug 2024 22:55:47
We’ll run club working within their means, competent board and exceptional management team that inspire above their club level. Bottle it and make a fortune. Simples.

3.) 20 Aug 2024 22:57:42
good manager and good scouting simple as that.

4.) 20 Aug 2024 23:21:43
Last year we got knocked out by a very good psv side that would have also beaten bodo, this year they had an easier tie than kyiv and also red star in the play off, we would have had a much harder tie again against salzburg. Just luck of the draw I suppose.

5.) 20 Aug 2024 23:29:52
They’ve also never been in the group stages before so consistently perform is a bit of a stretch.

6.) 21 Aug 2024 08:08:42
I thought Kiev were an easier tie at that level it doesn’t get much easier and we fluffed it.

7.) 21 Aug 2024 13:01:21
You think kiev is an easier game than jagiellonia bialystok?

8.) 21 Aug 2024 13:56:29
It's easier to say kiev though ?.

16 Aug 2024 18:09:02
I for one am tired of listening to all the comments putting Hagi down, not good enough, loan him out, sell etc. He was good enough to play for Romania but not good enough to play for a poor Rangers side? Really! I hope he gets a chance to prove you all wrong.

DaddyLongLegs

1.) 16 Aug 2024 18:25:55
Don’t listening to them then

I am sick of fans thinking he is good enough.

2.) 16 Aug 2024 19:11:12
Really hope he gets back into the team to prove you wrong.

3.) 16 Aug 2024 19:16:37
Obv our manager doesn't think he's good enough.

4.) 16 Aug 2024 19:43:42
Our manager thinks Matondo, Dessers, Wright, Tavenier are good enough!

5.) 16 Aug 2024 20:08:17
That’s what’s worrying Daddy!

6.) 16 Aug 2024 20:10:05
But you'd accept asmanager it's his choice? People again forget how bad a player was when he's been away for a while.

7.) 16 Aug 2024 20:15:09
Your on the wrong site then mate. Whether you rate Tavernier or not, how you can compare how he plays for Rangers with Hagi just shoots down your whole argument. Maybe the difference between Hagi and the rest is that they haven`t made it clear that they don`t want play for us, and for me, to stay he would have to prove that he hasn`t just changed his mind because nobody wants him.

8.) 16 Aug 2024 20:52:40
Thats the concerning thing for me also DLL.

9.) 16 Aug 2024 21:16:38
DLL in hope he does too but ain’t gona happen.
I would rather have dessers in the team than hagi that’s for sure.
PC can't sign anymore players because the likes of Hagi won't or can’t leave because no one wants to sign him. If he is as good as you think why are no other clubs coming in for him?

Oh the Hagi situation rumbles on and on. If you ask me, and nobody does, it’s simply a case that Rangers have no money, skint, hence one in one out, and consequently cannot afford to play Hagi as £1.4m squids is money they don’t have.

Think of it another way, you pay £1.4m to honour his contract the decent thing to do, or you refuse to honour his contract and treat him like a leper. Now I wonder why Hagi might have issues with this. And let’s be honest he is not a bad player and we could certainly use him.

Who shipped Hagi out on loan was that his request! No it was a result of a bad injury but credit to the lad he has worked his socks off to get back and proved it by being selected for his country and still some want rid, refuse to play him, refuse to honour his contract, and say he is not Rangers standard! I disagree and his attitude is infinitely superior to that of Cantwell and yet he was preferred to Hagi.

Kasanwirjo looked decent and although only got a few minutes I reckon he is an upgrade on Tav, problem is; unlikely Clements will drop his captain. Loyalty is not the important thing here, we simply must play the best players. Tav was caught out more than once again, time to drop.

Barron has been all over the park today covering miles n miles spreading passes all around and helping out the defence how one can criticise him I really don’t know. In fact I will go as far to say he is shaping up like the new Barry Ferguson. Sterling is a little boy lost, empty jersey.

Thought they all did well, we have unearthed a gem in Igamane. Bajrami is decent, and the signing of Barron is a masterstroke. Few more like this and we would be able to beat Celtic so really Clement is on the right track despite having virtually no transfer money.
