Michael O'Neil as first team coach guy from Southampton DOF?

Crumlin Bear

1.) 16 Feb 2017 09:02:07
I honestly think Michael O'Neil would be best for us. Defensivly brilliant manager which is what we need. Could he not take charge till the end of the season and keep his NI duties?

2.) 16 Feb 2017 09:17:25
One thing about ferguson he is not a yes man and he did care about rangers legion was inept so I don't blame him for that. i don't know be any good as a coach here but he still loves rangers

3.) 16 Feb 2017 11:32:41
Michael O'Neil? The same guy who's previous managerial roles were Brechin and Shamrock Rovers? You have got to be kidding me. He has done well with NI because the expectations were ZERO! Has is completely unproven at a club where you have to actually sign new players and manage players and fan expectations week in week out. Sorry but that's a big no.

4.) 16 Feb 2017 14:08:32
i don't want o'neil at rangers it's way too big a job for him

5.) 16 Feb 2017 18:49:23
I guess you haven't a clue what michael o'niell did at shamrock rovers hence the reason he got the N. I job.

23 Jan 2016 09:26:26
Crooks and windass will playing at ibrox by the end of this month, remember you heard it here first bears and also remember slow and steady wins the race guys let's not get carried away with who we sign during this window the summer edition's are the most important ones for are club.

Crumlin Bear

1.) 23 Jan 2016 09:57:59
Have we arranged a friendly with Accrington Stanley then?

2.) 23 Jan 2016 12:09:55
Don't you understand what skint means?
We need a loan to buy anyone.

3.) 23 Jan 2016 14:32:26
Not sure why people are clicking disagree Pulsar. 100% correct. We don't just need loans to buy we need them to keep the ship afloat.

4.) 23 Jan 2016 14:58:45
Were are people getting we're skint from? We aren't jumping into transfers and paying over the odds for players like we've done previously. Only this can be a good thing. I don't think we even have to strengthen to get to the premiership we're doing alright just now.

5.) 23 Jan 2016 18:49:27
Correct John. Everyone is blaming the board but Warburton has full backing and he is the one in charge. He said it himself, he will only add value. He is a business man and is only interested in doing good buisness. He himself is not willing to give clubs inflated fees for players. He keeps saying it himself in all his press conferences this month.

6.) 23 Jan 2016 19:39:31
I hope the Accrington Stanley Boys do arrive by the end of the month! I also hope we see some money spent by King!

21 Jan 2016 15:37:12
Dean Shields will be out of ibrox by the close of window sources in northern Ireland say he's looking for a move for regular 1st team football to try n force his way into n. i squad for euros.

Crumlin Bear

1.) 21 Jan 2016 15:56:38
Hope not, i still think he has something to offer.

2.) 21 Jan 2016 16:21:52
Yous worrying bout whos going out its whos comin in u mean thts the news i want new players give u a lift and buzz and o'halloran will especially do tht if n when he cums.

3.) 21 Jan 2016 17:35:42
I for once agree with luigi. Usually when he plays he performs and adds a bit of creativity to the team.

4.) 21 Jan 2016 18:37:18
I think both him and law can go no problem. Law especially he played poorly the whole time with us, no fight etc but happy to pick up top level spfl wages. Fair enough he's playing well nearing the end of his contract remarkabley but he should have been driving the team forward before now.

shields was never really given a chance to be honest but I don't think he's ever going to be one of the first names on the team sheet. At least if the two of them go we get more big wages off the bill, sign a dm and jordan thomson gets more game time.

5.) 21 Jan 2016 18:50:01
MW had done the deal for o'halloran but is still waiting for the cash to be paid. Reliable source says money is the problem for the club. Show him the money!

6.) 21 Jan 2016 18:53:47
I'd be delighted at that. Trimming the fat, excellent from the Hat.

7.) 21 Jan 2016 19:08:00
I disagree with the comments on Nicky Law and Dean Shiels, they have a lot to offer and if we lose them the squad weakens! Fact! So as it stands there still Rangers players and we should not be trying to force them out the door as they have wore the jersey well and TBH there's more to come from both! Also another one if you want to get class players in at equal quality as them your having to dig deep. Ask ursel is Harry Forrester likely to be better than them? Is the lad fae Brentford? Hmmm!

8.) 21 Jan 2016 19:15:38
I like shields aswell really useful squad player though if his wages are bigger than most of the first team you can understand the boards thinking also the players thinking about first team football.

9.) 21 Jan 2016 19:17:25
"Ask ursel is Harry Forrester likely to be better than them? Is the lad fae Brentford? "

Without a doubt, yes.

10.) 21 Jan 2016 21:35:52
I would be disappointed if Law left. I think he has something to offer - as has Shiels. Like some under the previous regime, they joined with a good reputation and deteriorated dramatically as the team and club imploded - again. Law was excellent in his first year - admittedly against "lesser opposition". Perhaps he should have stepped up to the plate but the same could be said for just about every Rangers player last year. Wallace was rank and has been a revelation this season, for example.

I think it's perhaps unfair to say Law is only playing for another contract because there's a few who have turned it around this year.

The only way I'd be comfortable with him going is if we find a better replacement and I don't know of one yet. He was a stand out for Motherwell so has got it and we're going to need some experience where we're going next year. I sincerely hope.

11.) 22 Jan 2016 00:17:35
All this talk about new players and trying to get the best deal possible is just all of us including myself trying to convince our selfs that the club are doing the right thing and spending our money wisely! Most of our players we have brought in have been on freedom of contracts or for very low cost which I can understand. Now it's crunch time because we SHOULD this transfer window be strengthening for next season, it ohallaron is what we think he is, and the club have tried twice already, it looks to me like we can't afford 500,000 pounds. Dave king doesn't have the funds available to give Rangers and again were being made false promises.

12.) 22 Jan 2016 09:23:40
I don't think it's a case of not being able to afford the £500,000 fee. I think it's more a case of not wanting to be held to ransom.

Take Marvin Johnson of Motherwell as an example - Bournemouth (EPL) are looking at him and weighing up a bid of £400,000.

Scottish teams might think their players are worth a lot more - but in reality they have been selling them to English teams for low prices for years - why should selling to Rangers be any different?

13.) 22 Jan 2016 14:59:39
People on here should make up there minds it was just last week people was on here saying the guy from Brentford was the real deal but now he's signed for leeds there better players in the squad.

14.) 23 Jan 2016 19:52:36
Law I would keep, Clarke can go anytime, it just hasn't worked for him sadly. Shiels I am not sure about. He is too inconsistent.

Barry Ferguson idolized this man when he was a player but he has turned into a complete hack and now sticks the boot into our club every chance he gets I hope he never comes back to our club in any sort of role

Crumlin Bear

1.) 18 Aug 2017 12:19:01
And the big question is. who you on about?

2.) 18 Aug 2017 12:28:02
I think he meant to put a comma after Barry Ferguson

3.) 18 Aug 2017 14:40:40
Yea guys think it's a case of sour grapes lol due to not landing any sort of role at our club, let's be honest though what would have done if things where not going his way, I'm guessing spit the dummy!
It worked with le Guen, I still believe to this day if le guen was given a few years he would have built a good team, but he ho that's the Scottish mentality, you need to hit the ground running or your on a shaky peg!
Ferguson was a great player and I also loved him as a player, but just a wee Ned and a bad apple in my opinion!

4.) 18 Aug 2017 14:44:24
its because he works for the daily record tey won't print his bile if it doesn't discredet us in some fashion.

5.) 18 Aug 2017 14:44:58
Aye it appears if you play for Rangers you aren't allowed an opinion unless its a positive one!

6.) 18 Aug 2017 16:06:56
the thing is ldm17 you are allowed to be positive and the people that are positive don't want to listen to the people that just want to moan and moan and moan. they call managers flops before they have even had a chance to get their team gelled, that's the fans that know nothing of football and what it takes to get a team playing as a team instead of individuals.
those are the fans that effect our own teams confidence and when fans turn on managers then the players end up doing the same thing so the fans that are nothing but negative are not wanted by the club or by their fellow fans.

we would have beaten hibs if jack wasnt wrongly sent off.

06 Aug 2017 09:47:47
McKay wanted a move, garner wasn't good enough to be rangers main striker, o'halloran never wanted to succeed at rangers for obvious reasons bad attitude, all these players are just passing through on our way back to greatness, we will have a successful season this year in my eyes we have vastly improved the first team Alves Dorrans Jack Herrera Candeass definitely a challenge coming this season hopefully celtic can handle it . . .

Crumlin Bear

1.) 06 Aug 2017 11:49:41
Totally agree. They all had many chances and failed. Time to move on with better players. A win is a must today and at least 15 points out first 6 games. Time for the players to step up to the plate and hit the ground running. In terms of walker we need to get this deal over the line. Still reckon right back is weak link as tav can't be trusted to defend. Cover for this position is a must before window closed.

17 Feb 2017 10:31:14
Claudio Reyna would be a great DOF for us with Barry Ferguson FTC.

Crumlin Bear

03 feb 2017 15:49:28
simple conclusion of the result is warburton learnt nothing from november's midweek trip to tynecastle and neither did the players absolutely no excuse for it! not
acceptable! frank de boer with 15 million for players time for king and the board to step up!

Crumlin Bear

1.) 03 Feb 2017 16:26:06
pie in the sky with that comment, wish you were right though

10 Jan 2017 17:49:15
I think Rangers should make a move for northern Ireland pair Craig Cathcart and Garth McCauley, Cathcart out of Watford 1st team n McCauley in last 6 months of his contract I'd also seriously think of putting in a bid for Jason Cummings and Patterson of hearts

Crumlin Bear

1.) 10 Jan 2017 18:24:07
Could their be anything worse than mcauley and hill at the back? Cummings would be a great buy but Patterson is out for 9 months

2.) 10 Jan 2017 18:31:56
Mccauley is still putting in quality performances each week but he is 37 so can't see him going on much longer! Cathcart is a shout good experience and still mid 20s! Not a great fan of either cummings or patterson

{Ed001's Note - Cathcart has been injured most of the season, but played 5 of the 6 matches since returning to fitness. He is certainly not 'out of Watford 1st team'.}

3.) 10 Jan 2017 19:13:13
Why are we always seeing it suggested that we go for Northern Ireland players. As a team and with an excellent manager they do play well but individually the majority of their players are ordinary.

As for Patterson he is out for nine months and there is absolutely no guarantee that he will be as good a player when he returns.

Jason Cummings, not for me.

4.) 10 Jan 2017 19:25:40
Ordinary? We are a better team than Scotland anyway. Michael O'Neil was in the league of Ireland before he got job. So I'd hardly call him an excellent manager. And for the record mccauley is better than any defender playing in Scotland.

5.) 10 Jan 2017 19:37:54
Dont knock McCauley i think he's scored 4 goals in the prem this season! Lol not bad for 37 yr old

6.) 10 Jan 2017 19:38:02
Cathcart is way above what we can afford, however he is a quality player. Gareth McAuley would be the best defender in Scotland by a country mile. Who ever said McAuley and Hill would be a bad pairing for us needs to lay of the buckfast!

7.) 10 Jan 2017 20:54:09
Cummings would also be a terrible buy!

8.) 10 Jan 2017 20:56:12
Would be the worst pairing in football history so slow the pair of them. Northern Ireland are poor and certainly not as good as Scotland just because they had the easiest group of everybody doesn't make them good.

9.) 10 Jan 2017 22:02:33
Cee your having a laugh. Scotland is twice the size of northern ireland and we our still higher up the rankings than Scotland and have been for years. Scotland are the worst side in the British Isles. Especially there defence. Not 1 of there defenders would get in the northern ireland team and stevie davis is in a different class than any midfielder you have. And even the much maligned kyle lafferty has scored more international goals than all your forwards put together l.

10.) 10 Jan 2017 22:29:33
Given the players that both Northern Ireland and the ROI have and how well both teams play, surely a United Football Team, just like the Rugby, would give both countries the opportunity to put together a team that would be on a par or better than England!

I won't include Scotland in the discussion since it is a long time since they had any top quality players!

Goodness, even the USA has better players these days!

11.) 10 Jan 2017 22:46:58
Was big Davy Wier slow? Was big Davy Wier good for us? Is John Terry slow? Enough said! U don't have to be a flying machine to play centre half if you can read the game well, make good decisions, be aggressive and attack the ball well etc. McAuley very very good at these things. Clint Hill is not bad at these things either and has probably been our best centre half this season

12.) 11 Jan 2017 08:37:59
Davie Weir and John Terry were top class football players that played in significantly better teams than we see at Rangers today. McAuley looks top drawer in the N. Ireland team but I fear like others, and I include Clint Hill and even Wilson and Kiernan, he would be hung out to dry playing behind Halliday. Yes, he would improve our defence but until we have a quality Holding Midfield player / defensive midfield player of quality the defence will be at risk and this is a position that Warburton has failed miserably to fill.

13.) 11 Jan 2017 10:02:01
MCAULEY is a top player but i'd like to build for the future and buying 37 year olds isn't going to help with that the northern Ireland team isn't much better than Scotland they just have a better manager sake i'd be better than Strachan.
wouldn't be picking the likes of the two fletchers for a start

Listen guys we'll probably have to wait to the January window to get rid then one of the English championship clubs will take him I'd rather wait to then than give him a big pay off for heehaw. One thing is for sure in my opinion he'll never play for the teddy bears again.
