According to Fabrizio Romano deal agreed and completed today for Butland. Hopefully that's our goalie problems sorted.

1.) 05 Jun 2023 15:08:17
Big gloves to fill Coisty.
Hope your right.

2.) 05 Jun 2023 15:34:39
That’s the only problem he is a upgrade on the current situation but a downgrade from 2 years ago let’s face it if he came in 2 years ago he would be no 2.

3.) 05 jun 2023 15:45:19
2 years ago he would still instantly be number one.

4.) 05 Jun 2023 15:50:12
Not a chance he would of took the gloves of allan mcgregor 2 years ago behave.

5.) 05 Jun 2023 16:29:09
I think we need to be careful when it comes to being too critical of our new goalkeeper. Greegsy was really absolutely exceptional and one of if not the best keeper rangers have ever had so itll be almost impossible for Jack Butland to reach prime Mcgregor levels. That said i think he brings different skill set in terms of coming for cross balls and being quick off his line which was never a strength of McGregor throughout his career. Welcome to rangers Jack!

6.) 05 Jun 2023 16:53:23
Lot say he jot same as McGregor, but was as good as Klos, goram, they are all different and if they give their all then there should be no complaints, all excellent keepers in their own way.

7.) 05 jun 2023 16:54:39
allan began denigrating long before 2 years ago, one of the very best, but been on a downward spiral for around 4 yrs,

8.) 05 Jun 2023 17:12:46
Stoozie I agree but same goes for mccrorie.

9.) 05 Jun 2023 17:17:13
Butland is a great keeper no doubt but it’s hardly critical saying he’s a downgrade on one of the greatest keepers rangers have ever had will be a long time till we get a keeper as good as Allan again.

10.) 05 Jun 2023 17:32:19
He’ll fill his own gloves just fine.

11.) 05 Jun 2023 17:48:19
I’d imagine we have a good few years of him being a class goalie for us. Well happy with this signing.

12.) 05 Jun 2023 17:53:07
Do we actually know how good Butland is now? Apparently that ankle break took a lot out of him, and he hasn’t played in a while.

13.) 05 Jun 2023 18:09:31
Tom, I still can't believe we gave McGregor a contract last summer, madness, complete madness.

14.) 05 jun 2023 18:11:30
rfc, you seem to be holding a grudge on an earlier disagreement

allan mcgregor has been suffering with sever arthritic condition for way over 5 years now, butland would easily have been no1 2 years ago, allan been getting slower and in more pain way longer than 2 years, if you don't know that then no point in getting back.

15.) 05 Jun 2023 20:43:56
Tom you’re wrong McGregor had a great season 2 years ago. Yes he has suffered for years with his knee but the fact remains Alan had a tremendous season.

16.) 05 Jun 2023 21:49:27
Don't understand why it's a problem, peak McGregor was class, but that's the past, butland is a very well respected keeper and already folk are finding negatives. Mental.

17.) 05 Jun 2023 22:27:02
Also on McGregor not coming off his line

As a keeper you really got to know your limitations he was never the tallest of keepers so coming off his line to early would have been stupid stick to his strengths of being a shot stopper with great reflex's and willingness to use any part of body to save a shot.

I see the same in mccrorie but I doubt he will get the chance to show what he can do we are so short sited when it comes to our own player development.

18.) 06 Jun 2023 04:05:45
Every one knows about his condition does not change the fact that 2 years ago butland would play 2nd fiddle to Allan prob had one of his best seasons and if not agree with you is a grudge I have a few ?.

19.) 06 Jun 2023 05:10:30
Greegs was a fantastic keeper for us but imho goram better than him simple as that?In british and european football at the time goram was playing for us, only man utd legendary goalkeeper peter schmeichel was better for me and only just at that? The 'goalie' was even brilliant with the ball at his feet and would come off his line when needed, to fist a ball clear? He was an exceptional, world class goalie and no other keeper for me that played for rangers, gets close to goram for me ??? God rest his soul ?.

20.) 06 Jun 2023 16:04:57
Think some putting shagger on pedestal here. Arthritis, age and speed in getting down not to mention cross balls has had him struggling for five years. Butland is an experienced improvement. Some shagger lovers on here already denegrating butland before he's kept goal despite EPL and international credentials. I say wait, give him chance and gers welcome.

21.) 07 Jun 2023 09:17:19
Agree Walter.

Seen a rumour on Spanish Twitter feeds Morelos has signed a pre contract for them. Anyone know if this is another fake account or could be true?

Coisty92

1.) 10 Mar 2023 19:27:56
If it's true he's signed, then good luck to him.
If this is true, then Colak must start as our number 1 striker from now on, fitness depending.
Thanks for the memories Alfie, but your time in the team must be limited now, If you are for the off?!

2.) 10 Mar 2023 21:14:06
Have to agree with that… colak to start every game with sakala and get Robbie ure called up for the bench aswell.

3.) 10 Mar 2023 21:14:26
Be a shame to lose him for nothing but we definitely got our moneys worth from a £1m signing.

Poor planning however from RW etc.

4.) 10 Mar 2023 22:33:33
Got our money's worth?

More red cards than goals against our biggest rivals.

More mis-hits and fumbles than Erik Bo Anderson

Watching Colaks movement in the box is so refreshing than watching Morelos constantly blast it at the keeper for the last 5 years.

How many will Colak score against our biggest rivals in his time here?

More than Morelos, without doubt!

5.) 11 Mar 2023 00:24:01
Absolute bargain £1m he’s only the 18th post war striker to hit over 100 goals for the club our all time European top scorer and still some slag him, it’s not only his goals it’s what he brought to the team good luck Alphie if it’s true I wish you all the best.

6.) 11 Mar 2023 06:44:59
Good luck to Alf - not the player he was but more annoyed that a prime asset was allowed to dwindle contract and leave on a free- before everyone jumps and says this happens at most clubs WE should NEVER get to this position with anyone of note again (especially in our financial predicament) - he came in unknown for minimal fee and if this happens again (if we ever get as lucky) then we need to sell at top of worth and not lose the big money- ie our resigning policy re updating of contract length must change to reflect the disastrous events of Buff and probably more so Kent (7 mill plus mucho wages and zero return) we must play a harder ball with our assets - we will never catch up unless we learn the hard lesson of buy then sell at top of prime then REPEAT with new additions - it then gives us a sustainable business while still getting a potential hungry team on the park.

7.) 11 Mar 2023 07:04:01
For a striker who only cost 1m, the boy has more than paid that money back. Infact, he's paid it back many, many times. To say otherwise is ridiculous!
Has it been confirmed by a reliable source yet that this move to Sevilla is true?

8.) 11 Mar 2023 08:10:46
Buff has been a great signing for 1m. Should have sold at top value as floyd says and not let this type of thing happen again. Will miss buff for sure some incredible European performances. We will be fine without him though ??????.

9.) 11 Mar 2023 08:40:57
I think this ' our leading goalscorer in Europe' is misleading. How many did he score in preliminary rounds think he got 4or 5 against st Joseph from Gibraltar. Super ally and other great goalscorer never had to play against such cannon fodder. I know they played against poor teams but sometimes Alf had 3 rounds of preliminary rounds 6 games before the real competition started. At the end of the day Alf couldn't lace super Ally boots but good luck to him.

10.) 11 Mar 2023 10:11:06
McBurnie still wants to join the club.

11.) 11 Mar 2023 12:16:57
What a load of rubbish, IOM.
No striker has come close to Super Ally, not just Morelos.
And I posted the other day a list of European teams that Morelos has scored against.
Have you actually took the time to check who Super Ally scored against in Europe?
You’ll be surprised when you compare both lists.

12.) 11 Mar 2023 12:27:27
I'm an Ally McCoist admirer Isle of Mull but I don't think all that you said matters, it's only his tally of goals scored in Europe that gives him the record no matter how you look at it. The guy has been great for us and done his part in restoring our reputation so I wish him all the best.

13.) 11 Mar 2023 14:49:34
Mcburnie just because he's a rangers fan doesn't mean he's good enough one good season and big transfer which happens all the time in England and people tout him forever ore even though he's not good enough.

14.) 11 Mar 2023 18:53:24
Crcp, yes got our moneys worth. How many strikers have we had that we have paid more than what we did for Alfie and received less than half his goals in return.

There are plenty negatives to Alfie as you highlighted all be it with a bit of exaggeration but you can't say we didn't get our moneys from from a million quid.

No doubt we could've got a lot more out of him but he has still scored plenty of goals and important goals for us. Shouldn't be disregarded.

I prefer Colak but if you look at what we paid and what we got back out of Alf, it's a good return.

15.) 12 Mar 2023 09:09:36
Can't agree on it being poor planning Wilson unless you have info that we don't maybe managers want him to stay maybe Wilson wants to sell may e player wants to run down deal

It's all maybes so you can't say for sure it's somones fault until you have the info.

Wondering if any of the well informed in this group has heard any more about Kent?

I see Raphinha expected to leave Leeds today for decent money and they could come back in for Kent. Any truth in that and if so any idea how much we would hold out for.

I know he's in last year of contract but Leeds will have money to spend so hope if Kent does want to go we negotiate well.

Coisty92

1.) 15 Jul 2022 10:20:38
Mb they will but they have just bought a 21 million left winger.

2.) 15 Jul 2022 10:20:56
Yip some saying he signed / signing extention whlie others saying he off with bassey

Only time will tell an hopefully it is an extention.

3.) 15 Jul 2022 10:49:05
Sinisterra from feyenoord signed last week for leeds.

4.) 15 Jul 2022 11:02:35
They could have two £21m wingers with Kent on the right ?.

5.) 15 Jul 2022 11:03:19
Kent to Leeds has been bubbling along for so long that I'll be uncomfortable about it until he signs an extension.

He's one of the few players I don't think we could replace without spending big.

6.) 15 Jul 2022 12:21:42
Kent Leeds about as likely as Weis to Rangers!

7.) 15 Jul 2022 13:48:22
Cheers guys, aware they already signed a winger but doesn't mean they don't want another.

8.) 15 Jul 2022 15:35:45

Three Cheers, you are saying there are lots of mad folk on here yet showing nothing but disrespect for one of our most prolific strikers in years.

Yes he has let us down at times and he has paid for it by being dropped, he comes back with hunger and scores the goals. Many players in our history have had questionable discipline it's all about how you manage that.

I've had this opinion for a long time now, managers obv see something in him but he seems to be more of a hindrance than a help.

do the bouncy - "McGregor made mistakes in several games last season which cost us two points at a time, turning wins into draws. Ultimately that cost us the league title. "

I'd say injuries to key players, lack of quality cover up front and not putting games to bed cost us the league not mistakes from McGregor. I think there were only 3 games max that lead to points being dropped due to an error, but at the same time we shouldn't rely on our goalie to win us games.

Barrowlad, yes he made a couple good saves but doesn't take away the fact McGregor is a better keeper still.

Stormtrooper, I'm saying McGregor should still be number 1 and never once last year said he should be dropped due to his errors. Not all the same pal.

Why should he come out the box? He is a poacher and brought in as so. Take him out the box and he may not be back in on time for a header/ finish.

Our best poachers were barely out of the penalty area because the balls were played to them.
