The decline in the standard of scottish football over the past few seasons is staggering. Its slowly getting weaker and weaker, tougher to attract any decent players which leads leads to the situation we are in at the minute. Offering bang average players massive wages to attract them leading to nobody else wanting to take them off our hands. No youth league isn't helping either and the lowland league disaster chasing top talent back down south.

Our FA is an absolute joke that's why Butcher, everyone one of them are all about personal gain rather than what's good for Scottish football. Imagine scraping the one thing that helps young players grow!

Exactly Fork, thing is the national team are qualifying for tournaments so they won't sort this out but once our better players retire and we have nobody to replace them, maybe then they'll see they screwed us by having no young guys to replace them.

The governing body of Scottish football has always been like that for many a year ie. self gain and not enough care or budget put into the growth of our game in scottish soil ?Not enough football minded guys in these high positions and never has been imo ? The current mob are all for themselves!

When our top clubs are having to try things themselves like joining lowland league or just arranging friendlies all season, it's a national disgrace. How can we expect any to progress unless they go south.

Morning Bears. It's been a while since I've posted but I've been reading with interest various posts about our club and indeed the Scottish game. Perhaps the SFA should be run by amateurs who have some sort of connection with the grass roots of the game. They could be paid expenses and would probably have other full or part-time jobs. I can't see why we need full-time people in the SFA, apart from maybe a secretary. Getting a youth league up and running would be a great start. Thoughts anyone?

scottish football a shambles, we only qualified due to couple of penalty shoot outs and poor standard of team we played other than Spain, waiting till nations league we will be luck to get a point, if we don't do something to develop young players we will fail to qualify in near future.

Fork correct re blind, But it’s the Scottish Football Supporters that are being robbed blind by the SFA, As others have posted there should be a reserve or youth leagues, It’s the only way forward for our young players to mature and hopefully stay within the Scottish game and not go down south or abroad, Unfortunately at this moment in time the games being run by F Wits that haven’t a clue. ?????????.

Why anybody wouldn't want Shankland is beyond me. We paid a combined transfer fee of 14 million for Lammers, Danilo and Dessers but a man that will score plenty ain't worth 3 million. If Walter smith was manager he would've been in 2 seasons ago.

So we trying to drop the wage bill by 30% but can afford Dutch international strikers. Absolutely no chance. Instead of offering massive wages to standard players I'd rather get players who know the league. We must hit the ground running this season we have hearts and celtic in the 1st month.
