I have to be honest, McGregor is our best keeper by a country mile. Sands is not a defender and it was only a matter of time till this happened. Tonight we showed more hunger than we have in weeks, sadly down to 10 men against a much better team it didn't matter but not too disappointed. And lastly where is Ben Davies? Why did we pay 3m+ for a guy who we were told is fit to play, doesn't start, and when Sands got sent off didn't get subbed on?

I said at the time Ben Davies was Hibs class and got laughed at. Rangers have tried to do things on the cheap and now will pay a heavy price because Celtic are absolutely miles ahead now.

A bit of a reality check today.
6 years ago we were in the bottom tier. In those intervening years we have climbed up the leagues, that has cost a lot of money. We are in debt.
We have reached the top tier again, and not only that, we stopped 10 in a row by winning the league, won the Scottish Cup and reached the Europa League Final where we were unlucky to lose on penalties.
It is an astonishing achievement to have accomplished that. But make no mistake, financially we are still far worse off than Celtic. We are still in debt, they are not, and Financial Fair Play regulations mean we still have to balance the books, which means squaring off the debts we accumulated during those 6 years.
So yes, we have earned a good deal of money over the last 2 seasons. But that doesn't mean we can spend multi millions on new players, we have debts to repay. We have addressed that well, we have a good squad, been a bit unlucky with injuries and personal issues. But the future is much brighter than even seemed possible 6 years ago.
WATP and we will get there. Probably cuff them at Ibrox too BTW, when our injuries ease and they get a few. Onwards and upwards my friends!

Great post person …. The west of Scotland mentality dosnt allow for that though . but for me ( apart from the debt ) you are spot on .
We have seven injuries with Alfie just back .
Although the score was dramatic. I don’t think it was a true reflection and I think we played well in parts . My opinion.

Just read that Ajax have sold Anthony to Man U for 80m+ but because of a blunder by the Dutch FA they can't sign a replacement. They registered their Deadline Day as 31st August whilst the rest of Europe is today so they can't sign anybody unless they are out of contract.

I watched the Motherwell game. Poor doesn't begin to describe it, never looked like scoring. And Dundee Utd have drawn AZ in the next round so unlikely they'll progress. Be down to us, Celtic (even though they suck in Europe) and Hearts to get some coefficient points. We should rise a good bit up the coefficient table this year as we're only defending 0.25 points after the Progres debacle 5 years ago.

I've just about had enough after 20 minutes. Pass around the back then lump an aimless ball forward. Defence is pitiful. If Ajax don't score 3+ I'll be surprised.

They do, but they are also compliant with FFP regulations (for the most part) and they spend 10's of millions on players because they sell players for even more. Ajax are the classic example of developing youth players and buying smartly so they can sell for huge profits. That's something we seem to be addressing given the quality we have in our B team. So despite all the doom and gloom right now, the future is bright (but if some reports about Gio are correct, it may not be Orange. ) .

I believe McGregor has a stronger hand than McLaughlin so he saves the first and instead of going in its round the post. The other goals after are irrelevant because it's 0-0, they have a corner and it's a different game. Goals change games.
