Evening all,

Not been on here much recently as I'm fortunately at work till after 6pm.

Our performances in Europe this season have been outstanding, so do any of you know the real reason for our recent performances in the domestics.

My belief is we are the underdogs in Europe games so up our game considerably.

If I could spell atrocious, I would use that to describe our recant performances in the domestic games.

I still say it’s attitude and aptitude of the players. Starting off at a nice easy tempo and being patient for goals. They should come out and steamroller teams and have the game over by half time. We have to realise that other teams up their game against us like we do against dortmund for example. We have to be ready for that and knock the stuffing out of them from the get go.

I think the reason we do well in Europe Billy is that teams don't play with the 10-0-0 formation that most spfl teams set up with. All the teams in Europe want to play football and don't set up with ten men parked up in the 18 yard box. Hence why we have been involved in some great end to end matches in Europe that are great to watch for the fans. Killie are on tv just now v Inverness Caley on bbc Scotland.

That seems to be a major factor in the domestics Thee cheers mate.

However, What I don't understand is I've seen celts with the same problem as we have but they manage to break through defence of park the bus teams.

Ahh well a good result for Inverness.
Our problem Billy has been our finishing has been absolutely abysmal. Nearly every game we have dominated possession and had lots of shots on goal an scored with very few of them. Look at the Motherwell game at Ibrox when we drew 2-2 we had over 40 shots at goal and scored two and they had two shots on goal and scored them both. We have created plenty of chances to bury teams and failed miserably. Even last night we should have had that game won easy in the 90 mins but never and they get their goal and we looked very ropey after they scored. Simply not taking our chances has cost us big time.

The 10-0-0 bs is a myth and you have contradicted yourself 3 cheers by saying they set up like that against us but in mwell game we have 40shots 😂😂 doesn’t matter how teams play it’s up to our team to win whatever way they play and Celtic haven’t played that way last twice they beat us either.

We have been poor in spfl because of players attitude thinking the can just turn up in win and Europe is different altogether as they know they need to perform. Also braga we’re very defensive minded last night also 😬.

Agreed stormtrooper. Teams can set up however they like. It's up to us to break them down, an some of our players think they can just turn up an win.

Being underdogs helps us massively in Europe, there is less pressure on us away to dortmund as there is away to ross county or Aberdeen because we have to be better than celtic and players haven't been rising to that in games here, i also think a big chunk of our first 11 are desperate to leave Rangers, only my opinion.

Delighted with result last night but it also highlighted problems we've had domestically too. Struggled to kill off teams and slack mistakes at the back. Could be costly having to play extra time having had it sewn up at half time. Need to see out games better.

3 cheers, i believe you answered the question in your answer against the 2-2 draw with motherwell.
You would struggle to find a 2shots 2goal game over the whole wkend of footie i'm guessing.
Thts another 0% save stat for sheggs To add to the many other terrible shots to goal ratio he's had in the League most of this season.
He was conceding one goal every2 shots on target earlier on in season.
While we were laughing at celtic. Who btw are nothing like they are now. joe Hart was pulling off good saves to keep them in touching distance of us till january transfer window.
Then They invested where needed and where ange identified needed improved. They now have a strong middle to front. Aswell as squad depth and young age group. Also a decent keeper with a point to prove as a lot of people thought he was washed up.
This allows Celtic to take more risks going forward. Which they try do whole game every game, knowing Hart can make a save or 2 if they make any mistakes. If we had last years mcgregor we would be top as of now.
However our whole game seems to have changed. Celtics current tactics are similar to the way we played winning 55. Everyone knows rangers are a great team and have quality all over the pitch. Due to their european results/ performances. You do not get to a european semi final if you are a bad tteam, In Scotland This ersults with lots of players behind the ball. Anyteam would struggle against 10 men behind the ball.
Let Just hope gio's identifying/ identified our weaknesses
and strengths to play too, and affordable players who can improve our first team, and system he wants to employ.
Not squad players we struggle to move on. Which ultimately effects the way the whole squad is run, preventing would be oopportunities hwen aavailableihis obiggest test is next year but will the board back him. That is the question. In the mean time we have a European semi final to look forward too. Perhaps that is his biggest challenge the European cup, the League is in celtics hands.
