Looking at next season. How much of a turnover in players are we all expecting. I think we can all agree that McGregor and Davis will retire and Goldson will leave at end of contract. Also Baloguns contract will probably not be renewed. Other than that I think that Barasic will definitely go and its likely that some deal is in place for Kamara. Wright and Itten will be moved on if we can find buyers. The ones who have question marks thereafter would be Morelos, Aribo, Kent and Hagi. That could be as many as 12. I think we could possibly promote Lowry, McCann, King and Weston to be first team squad regulars but that would still require at least 8 in. Even by optimistic estimations, we could get £60m in for these departures. It's going to be a real challenge for GVB to find players that can live up to the expectations of our fans with that many new recruits required.

Good post del, I agree re not renewing contracts, I’d add Arfield to that.
I think Barisic goes with Wright itten and katic.
U then need buyers at our valuation, there in lies issue.
I’d be surprised if kent stays, also don’t think hagi wil go in summer window as he will still be out injured till September
I’m told mcpake will return initially but Kelly will leave
Goldson I’d keep.

Agree with most but heard the other day that we may be looking to tie arfield down on another years contract. Time will tell but either way a big job tell be done over summer months lads.

I would keep Goldson too, in a heartbeat but unfortunately that one isn't in our hands. We will also be sending loan players back. Whilst a lot of signings can be exciting, it is also a precarious situation as I really don't think we can afford to get this one wrong.

Would agree with the names you quoted and selling wise out that four Alfie will go and I think maybe Kent and Aribo both too. Would be happy promoting those youth players if it meant a bit more spent on incoming players but my worry is your estimate is very, very generous. Maybe end of last season when the players stock was high but another year off the contracts and another year of players failing to deliver in the main. 40 mill all in and we would be lucky.

Agree there will be a huge turnover of players, hopefully one or two of the youngsters can make the step up, truth is with the youngsters very few make the grade but here’s hoping. I would seriously consider whether Ryan Jack is ever going to be the player we want him to be, maybe the injuries are catching up with him. Either way we have some serious footballing decisions to make and we must be ruthless.

We need a new spine next season. Goalkeeper, 2 first choice CD’s, at least 1 starting AMF and 2 or even 3 quality Strikers. as I fear Buff will go. If we can secure realistic fees for Kent, Aribo, Kamara and Barasic then I’d move them on. I’d hate to think that Lowry, in particular, would not get more first team exposure. All in all a big ask but we’ve left ourselves with very little option due to the lack of proper investment this season.

Del, I agree with all of what you say although John makes a very valid point.
To be honest, I would get rid of most of Wilson's signings other than the youngsters and Bassey. If we can sell Lundstram at a decent fee then I would sell him as well.
I believe that the quality of player that Wilson has signed have been generally poor.
We need a step change in the quality of player we sign for next season, I'm just not sure where the funds come from. There are some good Bosmans out there but I can't see Wilson signing them and a fully fit Aaron Ramsay will probably move on to the EPL.
