What about our former striker jelavic's interview in this morning's daily record,
regarding how he thinks his close pal borna barisic should look to leave rangers and go and play in a better league, before it's too late 🤔Jelavic stated that borna wouldn't get a better club than rangers, but for the sake of his own career, he should look to go and play in one of europe's top leagues, as he rates barisic as one of the top 5 best left backs in europe 🤔.

The offer for Borna really must have been low? I still believe the club were probably trying to offload him for descent money but I reckon he was worth around £5 million? The Tim’s just signed the Croatian right back for £2 million.

Coop, he is only worth what someone is going to pay? I agree with you he’s a great player but is he top notch, probably not or he would have been gone? I am not having a go mate but Borna is coming up on 29 and is he really worth 5 million when similar Croatian players are going for half the price at 24 years of age? The clubs model is to have at least one decent sale every season and we haven’t had one sale of value for years and I really find it strange as we have some great players? I would say a fair price for Borna would be around the 12+mill mark, that mob sold that diddy frimpong for 11mill and Borna way better than him it's only the fact he is now 29 that he is not worth way more. Look at some of the prices down south for defenders who are absolutely honking yet command big transfer fees, especially if its english players going between english clubs.

Sgl I really rate Borna and I’ll be honest I don’t know every left back in Europe but my reasoning is that if there aren’t better left backs in the English, German, Italian and Spanish top flights than Barasic then why is he still with us? I might be wrong but I don’t think we have any player to are in the top 5 in their position in Europe. But if I’m wrong pal I’ll hold my hands up.

As much as I think he's been great for Rangers, and I'm so glad he's still with us, even discussing whether he is, or whether he isn't, is pure fantasy. Agree Coops it was his mate Jelavic that said it. Whether it’s top5 or top 10 or whatever, Borna is a quality international player. His delivery and dead ball ability is as good if not better than most of the comparable players listed on thread. Looking forward to getting him back fit, strong and focused.

If Crystal Palace as reported paid £14 million for the overrated Edouard then Borna is easily worth the same if that is the benchmark! He is a Croatian international at the end of the day.

Jelavic did that himself. Borna has already played more than twice as many games for us as him. When jelavic left what were the main highs of his career? How much more did he win? He never played 100 games for one club in his career. If borna wants advice on what he should do he should speak to big dado or papac they loved their time at rangers.

Borna is 29 and his value will drop massively again when he hits 30. No future sell on value is a sore one financially for our club. Our club has gambled on a few of our players when bids have come in, however, I agree with the gamble, keep our top players from last year and get the financial rewards after 56 is won and the champions league riches come in.
