Another disappointing night for Scotland We're above Moldova and the Faroe Islands in our group. Wow! I know several players were unavailable but I think 7 or 8 of last night's team ply their trade in the English Premier League. I might be wrong. Jack and Patterson certainly would have played had it not been for C.V. and injury. However, Clarke has gone as far as he is capable. Time to get someone in as Scotland manager who can inspire. Any thoughts Bears? My vote would be for Graeme Souness.

Danish manager went for our left back position from early on and got rewards.
Once they were 2 up they eased off and went into cruise mode.

Souness would have been ideal and was great in his time, but he has been out the game for a fair amount of time now, I’m not sure he would be the same manager to what he was. Game changes as time goes on.

He’s just had his contract renewed for delivering absolute failure! Some may say “but he got us to qualify” think the route we took anybody coulda and shoulda qualified anyway! Scottish national football is becoming more of a joke by each passing day!

I doubt Souness would touch it with a barge pole. Enjoying a stress free life as a tv pundit. As for the players you mentioned when will Jack be back from his 6 month calf injury and I was hoping Tavernier would have been sold in the window and allow our top right back Patterson to play.

Thoughts are Denmark are one of the best teams in European football and Scotland are nowhere near that level. Scotland will finish 3rd in the section the pot they came out because Denmark and Austria are better than us. No other manager would change this imo.

I would have wanted davie moyes to be the next scotland manager, but there's no chance he'd leave west ham, any time soon 🤔.

I agree with you sweep but why is that? As far as I know, the population of Denmark is pretty well the same as Scotland. It must be something to do with grass roots development and coaching methods. We had great national teams in the 1970s with some great players. We didn't win anything but they were great to watch.

We cam back from the 1974 World Cup Finals unbeaten and only went out on goal difference. A Scotland team with no Rangers players in it is quite sad but then how many Scots are first team picks for Rangers these days? Denmark won the Euros in 1992 and Greece, with a population of around 10 million, won it in 2004, so the size of the country is no excuse.

Amazingly I agree with Sweep!

We could have put in a better show in the first half but our chances of getting anything from the game were close to zero.

Denmark are an excellent side because the grounding that young players get is excellent. Concentrate on technique, football intelligence and fitness from a young age instead of win at all costs big boy tactics from age 12 where smaller kids just get pushed off the ball.

It won't happen but the SFA need a root and branch clear out and a 10 year program to mirror the success of nations like Denmark, Portugal, Holland and even Germany.

Parents also have to change their mindset - how many times do you see screaming dads on the sidelines shouting at kids, refs and coaches.
