The absolute fascination with Morelos and his ‘situation’ in the MSM is just ridiculous. Everyone and their dog are just clambering to make claims and statements about him and the fact he’s not here and playing. From every tabloid ‘journalist’ to every lime light grabbing ex pro, MacAvenie, Haliday the list is endless. And then it just gets folk like us riled up and talking about it. However as some folk on here have pointed out, there is absolutely nothing unusual at all or out of place in what is going on. He played all season with us. Went straight to the Copa America with Columbia (had to recover from C.V. as well remember) Columbia’s last game was the 10th July (whether he played in any games or not is totally irrelevant, he was there, at his work, training every day) He then MUST take at least two weeks off according to regulations which he did. He traveled back on the the 24th (two weeks later) and is now having to isolate in a hotel.
When Gerrard said in that interview he didn’t know when he will be back, my guess is he was meaning, he didn’t know when he would be back available to PLAY, due to the fact Rangers were trying to find out if / how long he’d have to isolate for and then after that he will have to get back training, have his fitness assessed and back up to match sharpness, not when he was due back in the country which I’m sure the club were totally aware of. As he also said in that interview he is sick and tired of always being questioned about and having to read what are basically made up tabloid stories about Morelos which have been an almost daily feature every transfer window.
If you look at other players who played for the likes of Argentina or Brazil in the Copa America, none of them are back with their teams either. Madrid didn’t even have any of their players from the Euros back, some of which were finished up weeks ago and didn’t have to isolate! It just so happens that our league and European qualifiers start earlier so Morelos situation impacts us more, but there is absolutely nothing unusual or wrong or suspicious about it at all.

Good post mate, but this unhealthy obsession with the boy won't stop until he's away. Instead of embracing a wonderful talent and character, they won't be happy until he's off leaving our league all the poorer for it. It's not only the MSM, ex players, or fans of other clubs, there's some Rangers fans out there who love nothing more than to knock the lad at every turn.
Do you know the good thing though? Alfie looks, and acts as If he couldn't give a toss about any of them!

Thank you John. Yes as John said Real had given them extra time off. My point anyway was that it only seems to be in Scotland (and in regards to Morelos especially) that everyone seems to obsess and try to create issues that aren’t really there. As I said, Morelos not being available for the first league game or the first leg of the champ league qualifier is purely down to a combination of, when the Copa America finished, C.V. meaning he has to isolate, and how early our league and qualifiers start compared to other countries. The teams in the bigger leagues can afford to give their players a longer break as they won’t start any competitive games till later. It’s unfortunate for us but certainly there is nothing sinister or in any way unprofessional in regards to Morelos’ ‘behaviour’. I’d imagine he will be available for selection for the second league game and Gerrard will have to decide whether to include him in the squad for the Malmö ties as he should be available for the second leg (that would mean he would have to name him in the squad for both legs even though he won’t be available for the first game though) .
