What's everyone's view on the squad so far? I think we have improved with Lundstrum and Fashion definite upgrades on Zungu and Stewart.

We also have Simpson and Wright who came in early in January and that should have a benefit.

Looks like Edmundson will leave (hopefully with a sell on) and I could see Katic out on loan then hopefully replacing Balagon next season. Kelly looks a prospect for when we loose Arfield and Davies probably next season?

We can afford to loose Barker and Jones, possibly keeping Middleton as a squad player due to the number of games we will have.

I'm guessing any big sales will depend on CL qualification - will it be one or two leaving?

Have we improved enough to compete in the CL? What's everyone's thoughts?

Bee we r well off champions league standard, however we r making significant progress.
Simpson is a very good player.
Lose barker Jones Middleton Edmundson hastie

Keep Kelly as a squad player and to rotate with Davis and arfield.

Personally think that barring any major players leaving the squad is looking great for another canter in the league. It’s hard to say wether the squad is strong enough for a decent showing in the champions league as it’s a step up from what we’ve came up against before in europa. I know it was only a friendly but If last nights first half performance is anything to go by then hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves. Regarding player sales, if we fail to reach the champions league I think 2 players will leave, most probably Alfie and Kamara.

Yes agree with you both, I think would take another season at least of progress before we could look to progress from CL group stage but hopefully we have a good season ahead and will get the league and some cups!

Squad is in a much better position than previous years and we have valuable players now to offset the debt on our balance sheet if needed.

I do think will be one sale if we qualify and maybe 2 if we don’t. But I’m sure the team have replacements lined up for this.

If we qualify for CL and win league again will be a good season. I believe next year is automatic qualification if we win the league?

For me the squad “might” be good enough to scrape it into the group stages. Last night was not only just a friendly but a friendly against a very very weakened Real Madrid. The signs are positive and I like the look of our new players but one game at a time. The key is not to lose too many key players now.

Alloa what r your thoughts re Simpson, I think he is a very good footballer, good pace and passes the ball well.

I’m not convinced by Simpson yet, I agree he’s a good footballer but yet to be convinced he is a good defender. Hopefully comes good however.
