Really hope these rumours are just that and we don't sign gauld as I don't think he's any better than what we have. Couldn't even get into Scotland squad and if you watch him over 10/ 20 yards the much slated hagi would out pace him. Found his level in lower reaches of Portuguese football.

He just got player of the month in Portugal top fligh mate, for a team 2nd bottom of the league. Think he’s 2nd for assists in that league and that’s a sporting Li on team that’s went undefeated with season plus Porto and benfica are very good teams. His numbers are outstanding and Steve Clarke’s a fool picking Ryan Fraser over gauld. I don’t see where he fits into our current squad either mate but if we sell Hagi/ aribo/ roofe then he could play on that right 10. Even replace arfield? He’s a good player mate very good.

Bate portugese football a much much higher standard of football than the spl. ryan gauld playing for a team struggling with relegation yet his personal stats are top 3 in the league, a league where there's likes of Porto, benfica, braga, sporting Lisbon and players well above the 50 million pound mark. Every1s entitled to there opinion but Ryan gauld personal stats back him up. I for 1 hope we get him as he's the type of player that can unlock defences and give another option to hagi. he's never stayed in Portugal if he was a bad player. As for your Steve Clark comment. that alone laughable as look who he does pick for the team.

Also point out the Portuguese league is not full of hammer thrower midfield players. He wouldn't last 45 minutes here unfortunately.

I wasn't too keen on the idea primarily based on the stint he had at Hibs but was correct pointed out that his time there was injury plagued, and since then have kept a watchful eye over him and his performances and stats in a much higher standard league than Scotland are there for all to see, plus with many reports claiming he will be available on a free this summer why not throw our name in the hat? Could be a potential gem that has been right under our noses for the most part all along.

We will see where he ends up if he's statistically best in Portugal the big boys will want him. I personally wouldn't take him.
