4-2-2-2, remeber the great Brazil team of the 2000s layed it Cafu n Carlos ul n down the wings can't remeber the cbs but had Kaka and rivaldo in the 10s with Ronaldo amd Ronaldinho up top, also Adriano as back up n 2 sitting mfs to cover the fullbacks was it ze roberto and someone else? Great team great set up great formation solid spine 2 great full backs n a covering mfs to slide in when they bombed forward. Great team

Davo (kamara) n lundstrum (Jack) as the 2
Then Aribo n Kent in the 2 10s with Hagi and Wright as back up
Up top alfie (Defoe) roofe (sakala) with Alegria pushing them.
Anyone see that could work? I think it's a great formation.

We won the league playing 4-3-3, undefeated but there is always room for the occasional tactical change.
Which we normally do in certain situations.
The mist obvious was the Motherwell game where they went 1-0 up and sat in. Gerrard took off Kamara and Arfield for the guile and skills of Hagi and Aribo to break down a stubborn side and we eventually triumphed 3-1.
We were nearly playing 4-1-5!

This was also the formation John Barnes tried to implement at Celtic. worked well for him/ them, especially against Calley thistle.

What's wrong with the 4-3-3 Gerrard has played since he walked in the door that won us the league and got us to last 16 of Europa this year. The players have been coached into this system for 3 seasons now, would make zero sense to change it now especially since every age group in club is playing the same system.

I liked the 4312 against Celtic. Ryan Kent just behind Morelos and roofe with our fb giving us width. thought we were a lot more dominant than we have done with the 433.

Is the whole point of 433 not the flexibility it gives you, the front 3 can play wide or narrow as the full back give us width anyway, if the attack is down the right the left sided forward should be tucking in or at very least back post area.

I’ve yet to start my coaching badges so I could be wrong.

When asked about playing four up he says we played three up top with two nines.
So I’ll give u that. But she says definitely three up top.
End off day we pumped them, all that matters.
Now we have to strengthen as that team won’t do in champions league.
Looks like boy sakala definitely coming. Which is upgrade on Stewart lines and barker

Abso nothing wrong with how we play the now, and nothing wrong with the way we played on Sunday. But there’s always room for improvement. We do have a problem of how to fit certain players in like Hagi or aribo and getting best out of roofe. Also itten needs a partner. So playing with 2 strikers is a good idea going forward. Especially if we’re going to have the amount of strikers being suggested plus keep roofe and Alfie. If it was executed properly our 2 up top would destroy teams in Scotland. We would score a lot of goals. Teams can’t just play 5 in the middle cause we’d have 2 no10s and 2 no9s they would have to try combat that which would open the game a bit more for the 10s and the full backs. Remember our formation and style has been found out a few times this season. We can always adjust for Europe. Great teams should be able to adjust to suit the opposition. Listen I don’t think Gerrard will do it anyway it was more a hypothetical question in terms of our personnel and the problems we sometimes have in fitting everyone into there best positions. I would like to try it but I know it won’t happen.

You got to remember, John25, when they proclaim 4-4-2, they actually mean 4-3-1-2 or even 3-5-2.
You would think we had won the league with this new formation and not the tried and tested 4-3-3.

Fs, to me no matter what the formation there was 3 attacking players who intermingled, there was probably times when they were every formation
