Poll please. Liverpool are terrible.

Is Steven Gerrard going to be asked to manage Liverpool FC and leave Rangers next season?

Oh dear, all of a sudden Klopp is terrible, I've heard it all now. Gerrard is a good bit away from managing a top English team.

Ed, you’re a reds fan, what’s your opinion?

Sorry I forgot to reply. It is nonsense Klopp would only leave of his own accord or the fans, the real fans, would revolt.

I agree. I also think it’s quite rare for a club legend to go on to become a great manager at that company ub. Look as recently as lampard. Some of the best managers in the game were bang average as players, different skill set altogether.

{Ed001's Note - that's because the great players tend to have it come naturally so they don't understand when someone else can't just do it. There is a great story of Glenn Hoddle, when managing England, taking Paul Ince aside just after he played a pass and saying if he had hit it with a bit of back spin over the top it would have stayed in play. Ince just looked at him and said I can't do that. Hoddle couldn't understand that what he could do, even a player as exceptional as Ince would struggle with replicating.}

Absolutely Ed, guys like Hoddle, Le Tissington, and our own Davie Cooper are born with a different skillet to most, I played with a guy who could make a ball do what Ronaldo does at free kicks, almost 40 yrs ago, but he couldn't get fit, no matter what, he couldn't head a ball, couldn't run, couldn't tackle, but he could curl a free kick up and over a wall like Le Tiss could, Andy Ritchie, who played with me for a year when I was a boy he could also make a ball do things you couldn't believe, but he couldn't do anything else, or he would have been a world phenomenon, instead he played mostly for Morton, and your quite right, these players do this naturally,

There's no way i see jurgen klopp leaving liverpool just now. IF it were to pass and liverpool did come for steven gerrard, I'll take klopp as our manager in a heartbeat 😁.

That's very true ed01. My dad was a footballer in Scotland and England's top flight in the 50's and early 60's. He was close to retirement and decided to take up a player/ manager role with a 4th division club in England. Pretty quickly he figured out that the guys in the team were not doing what he was asking of them. It wasn't because they wouldn't, it was because they couldn't. I suppose that's why they were in the lowest tier. Long story short, 10 months later he was back up the road and put off management for life! 👍.

I find it interesting that it’s the Rangers fans that are on about klopp leaving because of the way things have panned out for Liverpool this season. What about all of their injury problems? Losing Virgil was always going to be a major loss for them. Do the Liverpool fans have the same opinions or are they like a vast majority of the so called Rangers fans who have no patience and didn’t want to give Stevie another season? I think not. They will stand by their manager the way a small percentage of us stand by our club through thick and thin.
