What do we think of rangers approaching hibs with the proposition of a loan swap deal greg docherty for flo kamberi? Its in the pipeline fellow bears!

Kamberi was rumoured to be 150k was he not? I don't see a future with us for Doc but Hibs fans rave about him so we should be expecting more. Either to them or a team in England. gut feel is we are selling ourselves short there.

In all honesty if this is true (and so far there’s been no word from Rangers, just the papers), not overly impressed. Not too bothered about Docherty either way, don’t feel he’s good enough to force his way into the current starting midfield line up, and we need better than the current line up. However I also feel that way about Kamberi. He’s not a terrible player, he worked hard enough when he played for us and has some ability and nice touches, however his finishing isn’t great and tends to snatch at chances. In his career his scoring record overall is worse than 1 in 4. I can’t see how bringing in a player like that is going to improve us over all. I saw us probably bringing in 2 forwards this window if Morelos left, I’ll be disappointed if Kamberi is one of them To be honest.

Makes sense but Hibs might not agree as it’s basically us signing kamberi for free as he’s out of contract in 2021 so he can then join us perm after the loan, doc will also still be ours. Win win for us but Hibs might prefer a few now.

may now be a necessity if money now required for a cb.

Kamberi will be good coming off the bench but we need quality over quantity this season players that can go straight in.

I am disappointed to tell you the truth as they are only 4 weeks to kick off.

Does anyone know when out transfer window is opening up or has it already?

Kamberi at £150,000 is worth a punt.

Kamberi useful addition, docherty has no future it appears with rangers.

always annoys me when people look at goals to game ratio for strikers. These numbers are totally subjective.

you put a striker in a side dominating possession and creating umpteen chances a game then his stats will be better than if he's in a side that only creates a few chances a game

Morelos for example has good record for us as we dominate and create numerous chances. Put him in a bottom half enlish side who don't create as much and he won't score

its simple

Kamberi would be a very good signing for us and an improvement on what we currently have as back up and options to change idea/ tactics/ game

good age, internationalist, knows the league and knows the club = no brainer for me.

Kamberi is ok if you want to beat off Aberdeen and Motherwell to 2nd place but if we want to challenge them then we need better. Hardly did much during his loan spell and not someone they would be worried about. Really fear for us if he is the level of our ambition.

I’m sorry that I’ve ‘annoyed’ you jbf. I was actually just making a quick point with his stats. My main issue is that he is not an out and out goal scorer or major improvement in any way over what we have. The only season where his goal scoring was consistently good was the year he played for Grasshoppers B team, not a very high level I’d imagine. When he was with us last year he scored 1 goal in 6 appearances (I know most of them were as a sub) . As has been pointed out by a few others on here already if we have real ambitions of winning the league next year I feel we need to bring in 3 maybe 4 players who will start most games. A solid ball winning / covering defensive mid, a right sided forward/ attacker and another central striker (if Morelos leaves probably 2 forwards) . Gerrard has already again stated he is looking for quality over quantity this transfer window so I don’t really want to see us ending up bringing in more players not much better than the likes of Jones, Stewart, Barker, just to fill the bench.

Why not just pay the £150k for kamberi

We would definitely get profit from him going forward and keep going doc in the squad he’s proved for me he can compete in this league and be a valuable member of the squad

Honestly this is the area Steven Gerrard really gets my blood boiling
Young doc is a decent little player look at the players we have had in on loan who have been absolute tosh
Yet they get on the bench and game time

Yet doc can’t even though we have seen him play well in this league?

If it’s true I’m raging and disappointed

£150k for kamberi no probs pay it all day long

Give docherty a chance with us a proper chance think the boy would impress

Is there any young talent going to get a chance under the present manager? What happened to folk on here saying we’re building for future
Where and when is the young talented players going to be given a chance?
Doc is 23-24 years old he needs to start playing and I believe he has what it takes to be given a run in this team

Urrghh sorry Steven Gerrard loyal wish I never read or heard this rumour Just really annoys me

Not your fault lol so bad feelings towards you bud 😉😜.

do we really have to move for kamberi to full a place on our bench am sure we have young strikers who could do the job of what he would do
I am not overly impressed with the strikers we have been linked with since season has finished.
i think last year we where a striker short never mind this season if morelos goes this season we will need 2 strikers and i am not overly impressed with strikers we have been linked with so far apart from roofe
we should be looking for another couple young strikers like we did with morelos not shopping in england or scotland for replacments.

Docherty is better than kamberi.

Thestigno1 what is the point keeping doc for SG not to play him he is better going out on loan to get games.

Sweep1 doc is a better midfielder than FK but he ain’t a better striker you have made a silly statement.

Daft comparison mate, totally different players. In money terms I'd agree doc worth more, but its comparing apples and oranges.

Good deal doc never going to feature so get him binned, not good enough.

Docherty can do a job for us. More "bite" than Kamara.

The best players have quality and desire, Kamberi ticks the desire box, that’s about it 🤔 unfortunately he plays in final third where team most needs that wee bit of quality, so I’d keep Docherty and try improve his quality in the meantime as he also plays with a lot of desire 😆 Basically I prefer Docherty as a back up to our midfield than Kamberi as a back up to attack, just saying.

Whats silly about it? The 1st comment was about a swap between Docherty and Kamberi, that's why I said Docherty is better, Kamberi is a poor option imo.

09 Jul 2020 00:29:05
Coz u can't compare them, as they're not even close to the same type of player. I agreed with you that money wise doc would probably bring more but its difficult to compare players who have no similarities it's like saying kent is better than goldson etc.

Hibs want 150k for Kamberi I would rather we bought him than give them Doc. If hibs were selling Doc to us they would want a lot more than 150k. I wouldn’t have any dealings with that mob if it was up to me.
