Seen somewhere that SG said helander will be like a new signing what are your thoughts on him



I think he is far too slow and means they are mistakes in him but we have that with all 4 CB I think we need to get rid of him and bombscare Goldson and get 2 new experienced CBs in and keep the two younger ones.

We need to have experience in our centre half positions. Helander does lack a bit of pace, but he's a good defender and there's no way we should get rid of him! Not to mention helander brings perfect balance to our backline, as he's the only natural left footed centre half we have. We missed him when he got injured against celtic in the Betfred league cup final, without a doubt!

Paul I agree with you on weir but helander couldn’t lace that mans boots in my opinion.

SGL I wouldn’t say good defender I would say ok defender but far too slow and you can’t say for definite we would have won the league cup without a doubt because it’s something we will never know.

The difference is Mr Smith had the position of DW to perfection, not too high or too deep, SG, has us playing a very high line and when we lose the ball and everyone is poured forward, it's a 1 ball beats all game.
I definitely think we need another solid CH and try to get good money now to Goldson.
Katic can cover both CH positions and Edmunson too.
A really good right sides CH and RB, a striker, and a ball winning CM, if Docherty doesn't fit the bill.
Also st mirren keeper. .

Big george edmundson is pretty quick and with the experience of helander beside him, maybe that could be the perfect centre half partnership, going forward? 🤔.

Out of are 4 CB. although slower than a week in the jail helander does have the best footballing head and positional play out of are 4 CB.

No, i would say helander is a good defender, especially at all the no nonsense blocking, tackling, heading etc, centre half stuff. He played in italy and got very decent reviews, playing in what is regarded as a pride of the art of defending league. that's it in a nutshell!

Totally agree think big helander will come good. When he came, he was just coming back from injury plus he missed his clubs pre season.
You don't get praise in Italy and get caps for Sweden if you haven't got something.

Helander very rarely gets caught for pace as he positions himself and reads the game very well also uses the ball well as Paul said Davie weir wasn’t fastest! Helander probably the steadiest cb we have.

Katic alongside Helander and Edmundson as back up. The new lad from Leicster can also play CH and I believe he has pace. Sell Goldson.
