With the lack of full backs at the club right now. Obviously we need to sign some but would anyone else like to see a 3 back? Bit of diversity if we are struggling to break teams down or if they are hurting us on the counter. I feel all we could play last season was this 433/ 4231. Can be frustrating when Tav gets caught out defensively so would be interested to see him in wing back role with 3 CBs behind him.

I would like a flexible team formation In case need to try something different. I think the 352 formation would work well at Ibrox when we are struggling to break teams down. We would also be able to try out McCrorie at the right of the defence.

Yeah I like this idea also - as 68 says a bit of flexibility and really the team should be trained in various formations so we can change things quickly and the players comfortable doing so.

That's been the issue, Gerrard didn't not know when and how to change the system. Also prone for late substitutions.

Yip, nothing wrong with having flexibility within our formations depending on who we're playing and how a particular game is panning out. Horses for courses for another phrase! 👍.

McCrorie should provide great option and cover this season able to play RB, CH and Defensive Midfield. Future club captain, knows what the club is about and ready to shine.

Hope you are right Bankie and has definitely got a future just not sure if will be at Ibrox. Definitely deserves the chance and the rest is up to him.

Whilst he was used as a RB at Pompey, McCrorie is never a defender and playing him there is just a waste of his talents, he’s a natural defensive midfielder and could be very handy for us when the new season begins, be like having a new player👍🏻.

I've always said the lad"s best position is in central midfield. He is quick, has a great engine and likes a tackle. What's not to like?

I think u r probably right seeker re Ross Mccrorie, however I think he offers a good option as a right back.
Many off his early games, for reserves, Dunbartonshire, Ayr and Scotland under 21s was at right back
I’m starting to feel that our manager does not see a future for him at Rangers which would disappoint me.
But at the end off the day gerrard is a better judge of a player than me.

John25, ye, i was thinking the same about mccrorie, one minute gerrards thinking future captain, now, well, we are all guessing, i think we will bring in about 5or six first team players, before season begins, mate.

John25, I really thought he was a stick on for a midfield role after standing out in an OF game just after Stevie arrived. I tend to agree with you that he doesn't fancy the lad or he would be a regular by now. As you say, Stevie is the expert.
