Barry ferguson was a joy to watch in that 2002 scottish cup final against celtic, which was shown on BBC Scotland last night! He dominated that midfield and was easily the best player on the park.
You forget sometimes who good a midfielder baz was, as well as being a terrific captain! Baz could have played for any club in britain imo,
when he was in his prime! In fact there was interest in him from both liverpool and newcastle utd before he left rangers the first time for blackburn rovers, for nearly £8million. Baz did say himself in later years, that he only signed for blackburn rovers because graeme souness was the manager there. He should and could have went to liverpool or newcastle, which undoubtedly was a better move for him, than blackburn rovers, no disrespect to blackburn intended,
but it was the wrong move for him, I think anyway. I wish ferguson was playing for us, in our midfield just now. He was a superb midfielder in his pomp! Always found space and dominated opposition midfielders!
The best scottish midfielder of his era, bar none! 👍👏.

I agree mate, Barry Ferguson was my favourite player of that era.
He was a gers youth product and he was scottish. Fingers crossed that we can produce some young scottish players like him in the near future.

Baez was brilliant! I remember watching him breaking into the team and I can’t remember the game but laudrup back heeled the ball between two opposition players and Barry smacked it over the bar, would have been goal of the season 🤣
What about big Amo, abbot liable to the odd mistake but I loved that big guys attitude. Got stripped of the armband and still came out and gave his all.

I coached him as a kid. He is the best Rangers player of the 21st century.

He is covenanter! Here's a wee question for you covenanter. As you coached barry ferguson, do you rate him a better midfielder than his brother derek and his other idol ian durrant?
