Do you think Gerrard has the players for a 4 4 2 in the Scottish game? People automatically think Alfredo upfront with maybe Defoe but I think Alfie works better in a front 3. I’d like to see a 4-4-2 with Kamberi and definitely as the partnership, Kemberi is quick but also a bigger striker and i think Defoe would work better in a partnership. Rather than a three upfront you’d have potentially 4 with the wide midfielders pushing forward as well e. g. Kent and Aribo. I also think with a 4-4-2 Kent wouldn’t start as high up the pitch and would have more space to run at and also have more space for Barisic overlaps, similar to what lee Wallace used to do.
I’m sure there are many flaws in my system but surely something different has to worth a try because the 4-3-3 isn’t always the answer.

Meant Kamberi and Defoe as the partnership.

433 was the answer for the first half of season and has served us well in Europe, I'm not against a change too 442 from time to time but I think it would mean playing arfield left side midfield and probably only allow one of kemt/ hagi/ aribo.

Play a 3 5 2 at home unfortunately a don't think Kent and hagi can play together both want the freedom and not have to defend wingbacks of barasic and tav more attacking at home most teams come and play 1 upfront at ibrox don't need 4 defenders to deal with that.

I totally agree Jzer I just think sometimes we need to change it up a bit. I just think it’s easier to accommodate more of Gerrards forward players by playing the 4-3-3. Whether it was a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 it would be interesting to see if 2 strikers upfront would score more than the 3 upfront at the moment. Either that or the 4-3-3 is absolutely fine it’s just they don’t fancy playing on crap pitches in the freezing cold wind and rain 🤣.

Kent and hagi can't play together? They play on opposite wings my god man, they have no partnership and don't need to👍.

Coldo you having a laugh they don't need to have a partnership when playing up top in a front 3 of course they do all 3 up front have to and that's why candaeis worked well he done the dirty side of it to help out the midfield 3 when needed hagi and Kent don't both want a free role play 1 of them beside a striker in a 352 formation for me.

Candieas had a partnership with tav which was completely different to that with morelos which is what I'm saying between hagi and kent. Ie kent barasic is completely different to that of the understanding that and kent hagi need. Neither are ST either and should never be part of a front two. One left the other right with two ST inbetween. More or less they have no partnership in that formation. And by the way both were able to influence the game at st johnstone when we went 442, kent left hagi right and kamberi morelos inbetween. Kent and hagi dominated in that formation. To say they can't play together is nonsense. Gerrard then fecked it by going back to 433.👍.
