Okay, since a few of us are saying SG is not the man to take us forward who do we think is?

I'll make a list below of some realistic targets who I think can do the job.

I'll start off with who I would like to see take over, Slaven Bilic. Been in management a few years now and also plays a good style, has fire in his belly and will know the championship market well for our budget.

Next is mainly ex players with managerial experience and ex managers that know what it means to play for Rangers and in no particular order:

Ally McCoist
Davie Robertson
Ian Ferguson
Barry Ferguson
Alex McLeish
Dick Advocaat
Gio Van Bronkhurst
Stuart McCall
Davie Weir

And a few others I think have the experience to do it and in our price range:

Eddie Howe
Chris Wilder
Sam Allerdyce
Scott Parker

Possibles ( from a post Oct 2019 of out of work managers, these 3 seem credible but probably back in work now)

Roger Schmidt
Marcelino
Ralf Rangnick

I'm pretty sure there are others out there but I think all of above are realistic, albeit not everyone's cup of tea and I'm not saying all of them are mine but thought I'd open it up for discussion seeing its been asked a lot lately, over to you chaps 🤔.

Steven Gerrard is not the man for us? . get a grip. of course he is. Name any manager u want and clowns like you would want shot of him.

Its not the manager it's the players. We can't buy the players that they can.

Jeezo I Hope Gerrard never reads this site, absolutely unbelievable. The guy’s our manager and yes some of his signings haven’t worked out but every signing is an element of a gamble. Look at the ones who’ve worked out great for us! We are MILES better than we were under our last 2 managers.
Everyone to their own but I for one will back Gerrard until the day he leaves, and guys, be careful what you wish for!

Although I still think and believe Stevie g is the man to CONTINUE taking us forward as he already significantly has, I will chip in just for fun with Gheorgie Hagi, Brian Laudrup and Ronald de boer . That’s who I would like to see take the reins, 3 footballers with extreme vision on the park will hopefully have it off the park too, and Hagi Snr has been involved in management already 🤔.

Dutch - we might not be able to buy the players Celtic can, BUT we should be able to identify and buy players who can beat Hearts, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone etc.

as bad as we've been since the new year, we're 20 odd points better off than the rest of the league.

I mean if we could get them I would take GVB or Chris Wilder in a heartbeat but think both would be a stretch. But someone with experience, not another rookie.

The ideal would be someone who has experience but also understands Rangers have to win basically every game domestically, so GVB ticks both boxes. You didn’t have Frank De Boer in your options. Probably wouldn’t be my choice but he’s another realistic option.
