On a very sad note, i just watched fernando ricksen on the scottish news, stating through his computer, that he wants to leave his DNA for research, to try and help find a cure for mnd. God bless the warrior you are fernando!
Even thinking about helping future mnd patients, in his current stage of this awful illness, says everything about this most special man. This incredible human being,
most definitely unites the old firm divide.
Fernando ricksen is an incredibly brave man.
He has always put others first during his 6 years battling mnd and not prioritising his own plight.

SGL, just wondering how Fernando most definitely unites the old firm divide when you can go on their FB pages and websites and see them slagging the guy, mocking the guy and wishing him dead?

I honestly didn't know that kent-ish
because i don't go on any celtic sites, of any kind mate. All the celtic fans i've spoken to are very saddened by Fernando's illness. If there's any scumbags out there who are disrespectful and glorifying about fernando's plight, then i make no apologies about calling them scumbags.

Kent I'm on several Celtic sites and haven't seen a single negative comment regarding Ricksen. Quite the opposite. Not denying it's out there but reputable sites with normal fans wouldn't wish any more ill to the guy. Its heartbreaking to see.

To be fair Kent-ish you can't refer ‘them’ to every Celtic fan as a whole. Every club has their let down fans, a lot of celtic fans have nothing but support for Ricksen the legend.

As a Celtic fan I can only say it would be a few idiots if true. To have seen him as a player and then have seen what he has had to endure and how he has carried himself you can only have respect and sympathy for the man and his family. I read only tonight of a fellow supporter being reduced to tears watching him on TV. So I would agree with SGL's comments. It's not about football, it's about life and the fragile nature of it.

There’s the same amount in our ranks mate, I remember Stubbs being mocked for having testicular cancer. We’re currently giving Griffiths dogs abuse when he clearly has some mental health issues.

There are thousands of comments out there made by persons about Fernando! They are amongst the most terrible people ever and if you want to kow-tow to them then fine, but to say they are a 'let down' few is nothing short of disgusting from so-called Rangers fans.

MND is a terrible illness, one of my friends died from it, when I see pictures of Fernando, I am reminded, it is all very similar, I don't know, or know of anyone who has mocked, or made light of his situation.

Well said Bribhoy and total respect mate. Doesn't matter what club you support, all good supporters would never glorify, on anyone with any terminal illness. Fair play pal, rivalry is one thing and healthy,
people's life is another thing altogether. I would never sconce or decry anybody with any illness or handicap, no matter which club they supported or which religion they were. The people (if we can call them peopl) who do that are scumbag knuckledraggers and i make NO apology for calling them that!
