Flanagan looks a solid no nonsense type, we won't lose as many goals this season by the look of things. katik looks OK, maybe a bit nervous on ball like bates was but solid. Like the look of goldson and would like to see Middleton get a chance against better opposition see how he goes.

Flanagan looks as though he’ll be a solid and safe acquisition. However, I do prefer to have a left footed player playing left back as it gives more balance to the team. I’d also like to see a left footed winger signed up. Possibly someone in similar mould to Neil McCann as he was able to whip good crosses in from the left but we need a out and out striker to get on the end of them.

We don’t need to buy a winger like Neil McCann when we have the Scottish Neymar in our squad! Just give him games!

The whole second half was crying out for Middleton, we didn't really have anyone really trying to get at them and as soon as he came on his only focus was hitting the by line. To be fair it was a slow performance in terms of tempo and bite, but had Windass and Morelos taken their chances we would be talking about a 5 or 6 nil win. A certain amount of criticism is well deserved but I do think with more games and a little bit of time as well as SG putting a boot up their ass we will be better.

I think the Judge confirmed that Flanagan was a no-nonsense type a few months back.
