Told we knocked back 1.8 million for Barisic today. Also rejected very low offer for sakala

Nothing will happen re these two till after PSV games.

1.8m is a pretty derisory offer John, and It's no surprise it was knocked back. I still think If a bid of 3.5m - 4m comes in, and the player wants to leave, then we'll deal, but as you said, I don't see anything happening until after the PSV games.
If he does go, who could be a realistic target to play back up to Yilmaz? Are we really going to spend money on someone the same, or better calibre than Borna, to sit on the bench?

I wouldn`t be selling Barisic yet, Yilmaz looks like a development project to me and nowhere near ready to be first pick left back. Sakala I would keep for another year but if GVB isn`t going to play him we might as well sell him.

Ridvan doesn’t look ready yet. Barisic is still our first choice LB, and a Croatian international, in his peak years. £4m would allow Rangers to go and get someone else in now. Even then, it would need to wait until after the PSV games.

agree wlg - Yilmaz has a lot to learn about the SPL and really struggled v Killie. A great prospect and you don't have the CV he has without being quality but a little green round the ears for now.

Fans need to be patient with Ridvan he needs time to settle in to our club and everything else that goes with a young kid moving to a new country. I’m hoping we keep Borno and review things in Jan. His last few performances have been good.

Been watching the page for years thought I'd sign up.
If it's an EPL club for Borna then personally I think 5-6m would be fair.
For Sakala I'd take a lower price with a decent sell on.

If we sold Barisic I’d like to see us replace him with Josh Tymon. Tymon looks far more consistent, less injury prone, and more solid defensively. Plus, he’s a lot younger and could do a job for us in that position for the next 5 years. However, getting someone like that in would cost £5m. So I do believe it would take an offer around that mark before Rangers would let him go.

Sakala isn’t anywhere near the first-team. If a good offer came in we should let him go and get someone else in. I’d like to see a proper box-to-box player coming in.

Any idea what the offer was for sakala? Looks like a Gio doesn’t fancy him at all. He is a bit rough around the edges and can be frustrating but I’d keep him for the year. I know he’s not really a winger but for me much better option than Wright.

Ger4ever I agree and said pretty much same thing don't think yilmaz will mind a year of rotation this is what is commonly done now with wing backs also turkey not at world cup so he can afford to be patient while barasic trying to win a place in Croatia squad.

Fashion Sakala has a good return of goals in Belgium and Scotland. There’s interest in him. Burnley we’re ready to pay £3m for him last week. However, GVB just doesn’t seem to rate him so he would be better moving on.

Is that fickle? No. There’s a player there, he just doesn’t seem to be rated by our own manager.

I personally would keep borna and to be honest the criticism of him has been way of the top in my opinion, seems to get slaughtered for mistakes yet never praised for doing well, I would keep him, never paid a great deal really for him and he's well paid that fee off, yilmaz looks quality in Turkey but here you just never know, I'm led to believe efeko is a similar mould to bassey but just not quite ready to make the step up, i really don't see the point in selling borna to get another replacement in leaving two new players at left back, borna knows the score here now and can produce good solid performances anyone that says he can't is blinkered by needing a whopping boy, yes defensively he can be suspect on occasion but who doesn't? If he was the complete package he wouldn't be plying his trade in Scotland, this year we really need to back the whole team even the ones short on confidence, probably hard to keep confident think your own will turn on you the minute you put a bad pass or challenge in, this mob are gony be hard this year we need a united front from the fans to the park, last year's run proved how much it effects the players, can be so much of a lift but can work two ways

I like Sakala, unfortunately I don't think his pace and direct running style suit our league - as more often than not we face 10 or 11 players behind the ball.

I assume we thought we could adapt his gameplay, but by all accounts it's not working out.

So think a move is the best for both parties.

Borna on the other hand, I don't think we can afford to lose until at least the January window.

Rangers dilemma if we sell Borna is obvious from comments on here . Some say Yilmaz can`t be a development project at £4million so if he is ready to be first pick and we sell Borna then what do we do as back up. Another poster says Tyman, which is a decent shout but at £5million, would we spend that on someone to be Yilmazs backup. I don`t think so. For me Borna is a dependable left back and having him allows time to bring Yilmaz up to speed on the Scottish game and playing for Rangers.

Wsl I agree we won’t go for Tymon at that price as a back up.

I would keep Barasic, I suspect that it will take Yilmaz a season to settle. As for Sakala, I don't believe that he is that great a player but if the choice was between him and Wright he would get my vote.
It is all about how much we might generate if we sell him and whether we can use the funds to improve the team.
We are a better quality side overall than we were last season even though we lost two of our better players but we still need to improve the squad in a number of positions.

Therefore whoever we bring in replaces someone in the 17. Imo players who could be replaced are sakala, kamara, with possibly off Davis and Barisic.

I’m not saying drop any off above but if we upgrade that is way forward.

I know I’m boring but we definitely need a top left sided CH.
