Regarding the rangers deal to sign malik tillman on a season long loan deal has an option for us to buy permanently next summer ?Bayern munich allowing us the chance to sign tillman permanently at the end of the season on the condition that if as bayern expect, tillman goes on to improve and get even better each season with rangers that they are granted first refusal on a buy back option ?.

Walter we have insisted loan to buy. Due to injury last season.

Walter - I saw that reported in Germany.
Do you know how the buyback works?
As in do they agree a fee now or do they simply get first option to buy if his development goes they way they think it will?
Looks an exciting prospect.

Same type of deal that chelsea and Man City use with their young guys. normally has a decent buy back price agreed. like we pay 5 million to get him but they will pay say like 25 million to buy him back within 3 years etc…

Could be a win win deal.

Looks an exciting player.
Great to see the likes of Tillman and Lawrence coming on as we have been crying out for a creative attacking minded midfielder.
I really hope Lowry gets game time as he looks like he falls into the same bracket.
I really think Lowry has the potential to be a real big asset.

After reading an article I think Tillman could be the player to replace Aribo he feels his best position is the number 10 and he’s had a good education in teachers like Klose and Lewandowski.

Why would you insist on loan to buy if he was injured a year ago Bayern wanted it to be just a loan so doesn’t make sense.

Tillman still looks more suited to a cf for me.

Storm makes plenty off sense, bring him in and assess how he has recovered from serious injury, he has not played 90 minutes yet.

I can see the posts if his knee goes again.

John25 yeh figures I used where just for example of how they teams do stuff… as I have no idea what we would pay for the guy…

But either way could be a win win.

Stormtrooper bayern wanted a loan yes but i believe rangers were keen on a transfer so this way we get to see if he's worth spending the money to sign him.

That’s great that at the very least we have the ability to buy him. I’d love to know the buy back price, I hope it’s not c. £3m (for example)

Goat boy cool. I see it as a win win.

Loan to buy good move, buy back I’m sure that would be first a club has done that to us

I know we did it with Jordan Houston and Zak rudden, no idea re value involved.

I’m not sure about this one, think it’s a bit risky. He’s just recovered from a serious injury last season and as John said he hasn’t played 90 minutes. What happens if his injury (cruciate ligament I think but don’t quote me) goes again? We’ve too many injury prone players on the books as it is without adding Tillman to the treatment table. Who would be paying his wages for the duration of the loan? If it’s Bayern then that’s less of a risk but if Rangers are paying the wages then I think that’s a risk not worth taking. I could be wrong and the boy could go on to have a tremendous season playing every game in which case Bayern will probably drive the transfer price up if it hasn’t already been pre agreed.

we don’t need to buy him, that’s what makes it sensible.

It doesn’t make sense as we weren’t buying him outright and Bayern only wanted it to be a loan.

Tt Bayern only wanted it to be a loan.

So we get another player who has history of serious injury and pay his wages to sit on the treatment table when the money could be better used for a player that can contribute to the team. It’s a risk paying wages for a loan signing that could aggravate a previous injury when we could try and get Simone with no history of injuries. That would be the safer bet.
