Being told Morelos about to sign deal till 2026.
Sticking point is a clause that allyhim to talk to other teams. Rangers want it set at 19 million, agents want less.

Note being told this is not a sell on price.

i think his agents will win the argument john, he has stayed at rangers a while now, a mixture of a lack of offers and enjoyable couple of years, i don’t see them agreeing to a figure like that before speaking to another club.

14 Jun 2022 16:39:37
A would say 17 million is a fair price for Alfie we paid 1 million.

3.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 16:46:48
It’s a fair deal for me £19m is too low but it’s better than no extension and loosing for nowt!

If this goes over line that’s another result the media have wrong and or made up.

4.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 16:49:54
Fingers crossed he signs it.

5.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 16:56:20
Thanks John. So rangers want the buying team to at least start at £19 mill but it’s not compulsory to sell?

6.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 17:22:09
That’s my info bluemark.

7.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 17:34:33
How’s 19 million to low we’ve never had that for a player of ours before ?.

8.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 17:57:00
no but you will have when bassey goes.

9.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 17:59:28
Tend to agree tango however if he has three four years left on contract we may be able to get more.

10.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 18:10:35
Great info again. Really hope he signs. Expected him to leave this season for less or for nothing next so makes sure we get something decent even if he does end up going. It's a win win. Its not like we've ever really been offered the dembele dollars anyway so anything over £15m for me is a good deal. Hopefully do something similar with Aribo.

11.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 18:31:32
£19m is perfectly fine tbh.

12.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 18:47:45
I would imagine if they set that clause teams won’t want to pay more, especially if he agrees personal terms.
That said £19m is still a great price.

13.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 19:00:25
Is the minimum release clause not the key phrase here? Rangers might want more, and if a couple of clubs came in at the same time it might creep up slightly, but my understanding was as soon as the clause it met no club is required to pay a penny more? The real winner of there were more than one club interested would be the player, in that they would meet the release clause but would then battle it out for the player in the form of wages?

Anything north of 15m would be an absolute result for rangers!

14.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 19:19:49
Any news on Kent John? Do you think he’ll stay around?

15.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 19:30:58
Getting Morelos signed up for another four years would be the best bit of business so far this year! He is of fundamental importance to our success as was Goldson!

16.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 19:35:30
Great news if it happens. Bit of win, win for both parties .

17.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 19:57:08
John if true that could be our biggest signing of the summer.

18.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:15:26
Dado hearing nothing on kent apart from there has been a deal on table for months.

19.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:16:27
Great news. I would say to get it done anything north of £15m as a minimum works, we can still negotiate more with any suitors. Critical we get Morelos signed up. We could still lose him over the summer I suppose but he’ll fancy a crack at CL.

20.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:16:54
Shooting from hip, I do not mention a minimum realease clause, do u have different info.

21.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:38:01
Fair enough John, I think it would have been good if we could sign him up.

22.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:41:42
It will be a release clause that he wants. You don't have a minimum fee inserted into your contract where you can then talk to a club but your own club might want double that minimum fee to sell. Doesn't work like that.

23.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 20:46:04
John your usually spot on but certain reports iv read claim a deal has hit a brick wall although I'd take your word over press reports.

24.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 21:02:21
Ace u can have, it depends what is agreed when contract is signed.

25.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 21:24:05
So because we’ve never received 19 before it’s too much for a player now? So by your logic we can’t put a value of 25 on Bassey! ?

So we should just take the lowest offer from teams yeh, because their value is better or more accurate than ours? Wake up!

26.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 21:38:03
One Walter time will tell mate.

27.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 21:51:46
Hi John25. I don’t have any additional info boss, and certainly wouldn’t be questioning your info as it’s been Bob on time and time again.

There does seem to be a change in the whole transfer market over the last few years. Players are running down their contracts to ensure that they are in the best possible position when it comes to contracts. Fair play to them. Look at Haaland, easily worth more than £50m but drew down his contract to get the best possible offer regarding contracts. Goldson maybe the same…

If your comments are spot on like they almost always are, it’s a great deal for rangers and the player. Morelos CAN play in the premier league, so I just feel like a release clause sells rangers a bit short. Saying that, £15m+ would be a great bit of business for rangers.

28.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 21:59:47
No John, that's not how it works. You don't have a minimum fee where a club can talk to a player but the club doesn't have to accept the minimum fee. Doesn't exist.

Also why would a club allow a player to talk to club but not accept an offer? All the club has done is unsettle its own player. Makes no sense. It doesn't exist.

29.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 22:03:19
Release clause doesn’t really matter for me as long as it’s not too low as rangers could still accept less then for talkings sake the 19 million.

30.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 22:24:56
Rangers want 19mil, Morelos and agent want much less as they know 19mil is unrealistic.

31.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 22:31:59
Getting morelos to sign a new deal will be our best summer signing.

32.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 22:41:48
Ach well suppose I better stop posting rumours that don’t exist.
How many contracts for footballers have u done.

Me about six.

33.) 14 Jun 2022
14 Jun 2022 22:48:47
Correct storm.

34.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 01:05:18
Ace I suggest you read about Suarez transfer to Barcelona. Lol

Liverpool had a Minimum Release clause to which Barcelona could submit the minimum fee to begin talks with Suarez but Liverpool still had the choice to reject the bid.

Their is a massive difference between a Buy out clause and a release Clause.

35.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 02:16:53
Ace, shows you don't know much. Loads of players are allowed to speak to other clubs, before a fee is agreed. That's a very regular thing tbh.

So on that evidence i'd suggest again your wrong on the £19m starting bid/ release side of it.

36.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 03:24:08
I'd remove the clause it would open up to negotiations if any team wants to buy him.

37.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 05:13:18
You can put anything in to a contract.

38.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 08:52:29
Best way to solve these childish squabbles is to post the effing contract on here so we can all read it.

Someone in the know who is arguing back and forward has clearly seen the contract in offer so just posit the relevant bits and everyone else will say you’re the man.

39.) 15 Jun 2022
15 jun 2022 09:30:07
i know one thing, if, that figure was reached, alf will be as good as gone' and i hope rangers are offered that amount, it’s a phenomental figure and although alfie has been gre recently, he has fulfilled his role and he won’t fit the business model for too much longer

think the financial people will be secretive about any talking but they will be hoping they happen, so do i, our financial troubles almost killed our club, there’s a few who are now, at prime selling value, some may even be already packed, gio needs cash,

40.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 10:36:28
The most important thing is that morelos signs the new contract it will make him more valuable, if he leaves next year we won't get anything, i'm not too bothered if the figure is lower than £19 million.

41.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 10:45:51
Totally agree. Would be an excellent fee even if around 15.

42.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 11:51:48
This time last year when he couldn't score to save himself you's were all saying 20mil easy. I said we'll be lucky to get 12-15mil and I was a morelos hater, now all of a sudden 15mil is an excellent fee.

43.) 15 Jun 2022
15 jun 2022 12:38:12
personally i must admit i have never seen alf in the 20 million bracket, just not got the composure or skills of a player in that price range

it’s only my opinion of course but at this point i’d be over the moon with an offer of 15 million, i suspect rangers wouldn’t be too unhappy either.

44.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 13:33:04
Tom price will be dependent on length of contract imo.

45.) 15 Jun 2022
15 Jun 2022 13:43:56
Absolutely anything can be put in a contract as long as both sides agree. It’s win win for all concerned. Alfredo stays and we get a fee whilst it gives him the opportunity to move to a bigger league if talks can happen at any stage in season with clubs blessing. Get him signed up.
