Excellent news.

Was actually given stick off some people when I said that it was going to happen.

Think that should stop now.

Instead of 4-6 million on a centre half who would be a potential risk we keep our vice captain and can focus on other areas an leave the defence alone, excellent stuff.

Worth noting that he’s not had a substantial wage increase or anything like that. Wage structures still in place and he had a few offers from the PL down south that would’ve dwarfed his new contract.

I’d have preferred a new player sorry. Goldsons mistakes in big games has cost us over the years.
I’m happy He’s signed he’s a good player always available doesn’t get suspended or injured and a gold consistent performer we could do worse but imo we should have aimed for better and improved out 11. Souttar is here to back him up and balogun looks off. Hellander amd katic fight it out on the left hand side by looks of it. With young king offering support as a 5th option. It’s a good looking defence tbf. I won’t complain. Maybe we can get rid of hellander and sign a better player as I do feel we could improve at centre back somehow.

Copland lots on here said the same thing. This deal has been very close for a while. apparently after dortmund game at home he said he didn’t think he could leave. It’s fantastic news and money can be invested in a different area of squad now.

The way souttar played in cup final am lookin forward to see him n goldson as cb. s together.

Great signing although I would still like another to challenge to be a starter. Means we would have Goldson, Souttar, Helander + 1 new. If we keep Bassey he can move to left back. Then Katic, Simpson and Balogan can probably leave.

Define not had substantial wage increase, he also received a very healthy signing on fee.
Much less than a new ch, but Connor won’t be worrying about his gas bill
Great piece of business, four years along with Souttar brings excellent stability

Now announce Alf.

Really happy with this new, yes he has a mistake in him but show me a player that hasn’t, we would have had to find a replacement costing money so that money can now be spent in other areas, here’s hoping there will be other players following in his footsteps, just paid for my season this morning for the 40th time so no spring chicken and 30 mins later this hits the headline starting to get excited about next season now.

By substantial wage increase I mean he’s still in the same position as he was before in terms of highest paid players within the squad.

And lots on here weren’t saying the same thing for the past 6 month it’s all been on here that he’s signed for West Brom that he’s signed for Nottingham Forest and every single bit of it has been nonsense even John25 said last week that he absolutely doubts he’ll stay.

Great news, the big chap is solid as a rock, yes he’s made his mistakes he’s only human. To play the amount of games he does and not get injured or lose his discipline is amazing. I for one am glad he’s staying.

WATP.

He might still go - but we’ll get a fee. Either way, great news.

Cheers Copland, Jonny McFarland rangers review saying Connor now highest paid player in Scotland, however within rangers wage structure

Yes I said I doubted he would stay but I’m delighted he is. He certainly took it to the wire.
Only worry is does he have a house, as many say it was sold and off the market.
I did say mb he might stay, although I doubted it.

Goldosn wages have increased just not enough to break our structure lol.

01 Jun 2022 15:29:27
Great new on Goldson however I suspect that Helander will be moved on if possible. He is too injury prone and if reports are to be believed we will potentially have Katic back and of course we will have Souttar alongside Goldson which is an exciting prospect. Now we just need Morelos, Kent and Aribo to sign extensions and we will only need a couple of quality additions to the first team.

The house that made it on the news article wasn’t even his.

Johnny McFarlane is talking nonsense although being a pretend rangers fan while actually supporting Hibs should discredit it anyway.

John was he on 27k before so he is now on roughly 35k?

25.) 01 Jun 2022

8 grand a week is a substantial rise is my eyes.

Storm sky and rangers review saying on 40k.
At end of day it’s a good deal for us.

He’s not on 35K a week.

John, he won't need to worry about buying a new house, probably move upmarket, lol, i would anyway, if i earned that kinda dosh, not need to worry about his bills, or morgage,
