Just read we are looking to tie up Morelos on a new contract. Was talking to a friend earlier and it's his understanding that Arfield will be offered 12 month extension, Morelos will be offered further 2 years with release clause and they will be looking to do the same thing with Aribo but 12 month extension with release clause.
He did tell me he thinks both McGregor and Davis will retire end of this season but that was only his opinion
Decision on Balogun will be made depending upon what happens with summer targets. Katic will be gone also.

I cannot believe we haven't tied Goldson down as yet. He's been a stalwart for the past two seasons. Granted, he makes a few boo-boo's here and there, but who doesn't! Every single high ball, he wins. He's a beast! I'd much rather see us pay him the rumoured £5k a week extra that he wants than see him go to the EPL and turn out for a mid/ low table team. He's one of us!

BSARJ the question is does he want to stay or does he want to move on.

Arfield deserves a contract extension there is plenty of life in the old dog yet. Also exactly the type of midfield player we need. Would also like to see the wee genius Davis get a one year extension, think he still has a lot to offer.

Agree on arfield but think time fore Davis . arfield deserves it as a reward for effort he has put in so far this season at very least.

Goforbigcf, ? Really?, you think he is not and has not been 'rewarded' for the years he has been there already.
We are not a charity, IF Arfield deserves another year on merit fair do's, and at the minute he is a first pick. That wasnt the case not so long ago.

Goldson thinks he is better than he is. His long passing is excellent but his decision making for short passes, his turning and when holding possession is bad. He is blameless when he makes mistakes and can't run. I will be happy to see the back of him.

I like big Goldson, and I really hope he does stay. If it is true (it is only a rumour), and he will only sign If he becomes the highest paid player at the club, then that is never going to happen! I also find it funny that he can ping a long range pass better than any other defender in Scotland, but struggles (sometimes) to pass the ball 5 yards in front of him. One thing that really impresses me about Goldson, is the way he communicates with young players on the park and is always offering up support and advice to them.

Got to agree Livibear. His passing is good but he has a mistake in him nearly every game, makes me nervous. I think he is poor in the tackle and a you say on the turn is slow. He is ok in the air but for me if we can get Doekhi in then he is an upgrade. If rumours are true he wants around 40k a week I don't think he is worth that.

I agree we should be getting him tied down. Mouldy how much have u seen of doheki? I'd bring him in along with goldson if they play on oposite sides cb wise. But I think goldson gets too much stick you don't know what uve got until its gone as the saying goes.

Davis is done after this season. Highly doubt he will be offered another deal.

I have been a critic of goldsons performances on occasions this season with some lacklustre displays but if he wants to go down south who can blame him it’s going to be his last good contact if he gets an extra 10-20 grand a week how many people on here would turn that down? The draw for us is being rangers fans from day one and obv fighting for a title and European football ect, likely go to a bottom half in epl but will want to set himself up with a lidy bank balance before career draws out money talks guys.

The club should offer Goldson £5k increase on anotger 2 year deal. Take it or thanks for your efforts and good luck.
We then look to replace him we've helander (first choice imo) souttar anf King as back up I'd probably offer Leon a year as well to add some depth.
Goldson has been great servant and is a decent big player but he's definitely replaceable.
He does get left exposed by Tav at times though.

I would say Goldson is well within his rights to want more money. He never misses a game and overall he's a good solid performer. Then you have Kemar Roofe reportedly the clubs highest earner who misses more games than he plays through injuries and is very inconsistent when he does play. Who would you rather was getting paid more money because for me its Goldson all day long. I still find it hard to believe that Gerrard, Wilson and whoever else gets involved in our transfers thought it was a good idea to sign Roofe and pay him so much money in the first place because it was no secret that he was injury prone.

Unless we have someone better to replace Goldson, (and at the moment I don't see it), then I would be paying him the extra that he is rumoured to want to keep him at the Club. With regards to Morelos, arguably the most important of all the contract extensions we need to make happen and I would add Kent and Aribo to the list of players that we need to extend. Replacing them will cost us a lot more than an extra £5k or £10k a week.

The Roofe signing has proved to be a costly mistake. He is a decent enough player but his well publicised injury issues should have been a warning for us to stay well clear. By the time his contract expires he will have cost us more based on time on the pitch than some top flight players in the English Premiership!

BB - -players having a poor injury record haven't stopped us signing quite a few over the years (Gazza? ) and many more.
Its the only way we can get some of these guys in the door.

Roofe has talent, but he is often out injured, and unlike Jack, takes a bit of time getting back up to speed. The problem with that, is once he's up to speed, scoring goals, he gets injured again.

Bar72 we are the Rangers family and you don't throw the guys that bleed for you out on the street says a lot more about you than you think. Sorry but truth hurts and you can't tell me he is not good enough to come off the bench for us when needed to give people a rest works hard every time he plays so yes it's also on merit. Do people forget how our club used to act remember when ally Maxwell was ditched by Motherwell after his heroic effert in cup final we rewarded that even when he wasn't our player and you think we should turn our back on a guy that helped stop ten and busts a gut everytine he plays. shame!

Berkshire blue where does it stop you pay goldson then who is next? Nobody is beating down goldsons door or he would have signed a precontract in Jan to me that says championship only. Guys like Morelos get the money because other top clubs are interested.

Roofe has proved worthy of his fee but his injury record is poor and imo like Jack we need to look to bring in players more reliable the problem is players of there quality are expensive.

Morelos… Wow… WTF? Since his globetrotting bench warming he’s come back an actual player😂 never rated him as a baller but, hey, dummies and flicks!?! Anyway, Alfredo and Scotty A need to be tied down. McGregor and Davis will retire soon. I’ve been impressed with Lundstrum now he’s realised Scottish football isn’t as easy as has been pundits and supporters of small teams in a big league would have you believe🇬🇧.
