I work down in London and I have been told that David Moyes is still very keen to take Kai Kennedy to West Ham as he believes Kennedy's skill set and he is going to make another offer in the summer. It is believed that Rangers feel his development has stagnated due to his performances out on loan and the coaching staff at Rangers believe Alex Lowry is closer to being 1st team calibre than Kennedy at the moment. West Ham believe they can get a deal done and hope they can develop Kennedy similar to what Chelsea done with Gilmour.

Was wondering if John25 or anyone else has heard anything similar?

Not heard this, I know there was rumour start of last season Kennedy to West Ham. I’d let him go.

Thanks John, I believe we rejected a 1 million pound offer from West Ham in the summer before he went on loan to Dunfermline.

He will be entering the last year of his contract in the summer, I wonder what Ross Wilson would consider an acceptable offer.

Would 500k and 25% sell on clause be out of the question considering West Ham have cash to spend.

RFC

I’d bite West Ham’s hand of for this deal. I fear Kennedy is another one of the majority of youth players who have all the ability but do not have the mental attributes to realise their potential.

Agree mols, reminds me of David Templeton in a way, skillfull player but don’t think he will progress to the standard required.

Think if we were offered a million for him he'd been gone🤔.

Roloz just looking back there the Daily Mail reported Rangers rejected a 600K bid for Kennedy in the summer as did the Athletic. A similar bid this summer might be enough to get a deal done with Kennedy entering the final year of his contract.

I think I'd take John Hughes opinion on Kennedy over dome guys on a rumour page.

Tjrfc

You are perfectly correct and Yogi is best placed to assess Kennedy but you have to ask why all the big clubs (Bayern Munich and others) who were rumoured to be tracking him 18 months ago were not forming a cue when he renewed his contract in the summer.

He made his debut at least 2 years ago and has not featured since. There seems to be a cloud which follows this boy so the juries out.

I would like nothing better than one of our own taking the left wing berth but can’t see it.

Tjrfc, I am not meaning to be down on the boy was only passing on what I had heard.

Like MOLS above, I would love nothing more than the boy to break into the 1st team and live up to his potential, but when you look at his performances for the Colts team during their Alkass cup success and the run in the Challenge cup, that version of Kai Kennedy would be dominating at Championship level but instead he hasn't been able to find any consistency or production on a weekly basis.

Good posts guys and good info
shame if he has the technical ability
sounds like goi g on what your all saying there could be a player there
you would think our coaches could help him along to realise his potential
wonder why it’s not just happening
And why do West Ham think they can improve him better than us?

Stig, he hasn't been getting coached by our coaching staff for the last year and half though as he has been on loan in the championship. I don't know if that has been viewed that the ability is there its just game time that has been needed for him but he hasn't been able to capitalise on his opportunities so far.

Gerrard had called Kennedy up to the 1st team prior to the contract negotiations stalling and then he was demoted to the B team and loaned out from there, don't think he has had a sniff at the 1st team since.

Such a sad waste of talent (at least in terms of his Rangers career) . I had really high hopes for him and thought he was exactly what we needed - draws plenty fouls and works so well in small spaces.

Maybe a change of scenery will help him kick on. Definitely worth forgoing a bigger fee for a higher sell on clause in my opinion as he definitely has the ability to go far.
