Just had good WhatsApp with my source.
He says rangers have had up to ten enquiries for Kelly.
Some loan but three or four to buy him, ridiculous money, no one offering more than 300k.
Loan deals include Motherwell hearts Sunderland Ipswich
To buy hibs Rotherham Bristol rovers. Ie joey Barton

The lad wants to play football.

If he can't get near our midfield John I'd loan him to hibs. don't like them but they play nice football under jack Ross, similar system to us and it strengthens hibs against our rivals but not against us.

Young Kelly should be given the chance to play regularly and if Rangers can't offer then let boy go on loan.

Going by today’s performance he should be given a chance.

I still think that morelos will be gone before the transfer window closes. if hibs want Kelly I’d include him as a loan as part of a deal to sign Kevin Nisbet from them.

Good shout plus grass pitch. Is he any worse than Lundstram who was ordinary for Sheffield United and very ordinary so far for us but hopefully still needs to settle but he needs to do it quick.

Totally agree herewego, their style would work well, mb even get some European experience.

John would you play Kelly or loan him? Or sell him?

I would play him 100%.

Seems a no brainier to me John, Kelly should play.

Kelly is exactly the dynamic or midfield needs.

07 Aug 2021 19:43:25
I most certainly hope we don't sell stephen kelly and if anything i'd let him go to hibs on loan for a season, if he's not going to get enough game time with us 🤔I see this young man possibly being the longterm replacement for steven davis 👌.

07 Aug 2021 19:46:15
Nisbet a serious step back imo.

I agree with John25,that there's undoubtedly certain teams within our league that we could rest wee davo and play stephen kelly in these games as the boy looks completely ready 👍🇬🇧 John25,i have info that before stephen kelly signed his new rangers contract last summer that celtic's head of youth chris mcCart tried to coax kelly to sign for celtic because he thought there was a good chance because celtic were young kelly's boyhood club. But kelly still chose to sign a new contract with us and good on him 👍Did you hear anything yourself regarding this info mate 🤔.

Stephen Kelly is good enough to play. He should definitely be in the midfield rotation. He's hungry and would give everything he has got. I have seen absolutely nothing from Lundstram either during pre season or the last couple of games to suggest he will be a good Rangers player although I would be delighted if he proved me wrong and of course he will have my full support when I'm at the games. Lundstram is a right midfielder and we don't play a right midfielder so it feels like square pegs in round holes for me with him.

07 Aug 2021 20:51:30
Sorry, but if we are not going to spend money bringing in a new midfield player then I would rather see Kelly given a run in the first team rather than Lundstrum.

16.) 07 Aug 2021
07 Aug 2021 20:54:32
Wouldn’t take Nesbit as he’s not better than we have.

07 Aug 2021 21:16:28
Kelly is a talent but SG has shown he won't through a young lad in on the back of a poor result he's always said it's unfair but he looks a player and like Patterson Cup tie next week maybe perfect opportunity.

18.) 07 Aug 2021
07 Aug 2021 21:28:59
I would keep Kelly and give him some game time.

Here we go again rangers drop points and everyone blames mo. service was dreadfull we ist the game in midfield Davis was off it kamara was off it Lundstrum lol what a passenger he is turning out to be another sol over hyped over priced player who thinks Scottish football will be easy. People are very critical of morelos and hagi but they give us something different and are vastly underrated.

Also heard Kelly came from a rangers support family, not that it matters. The lad got held back a wee bit because he’s small but he’s got a bit of fire in his belly, most importantly he can play.

07 Aug 2021 22:29:50
Hes a 100% rangers fan. MY good mate Michael Moffat was at ayr with him and told me they bantered about rangers/ celtic all the time.

Yep lundstrum hasn’t started well but people get a grip a lot of you lot want rid of barasic and look how he turned out.

And we think we are the best fans in the world 🤯.

25.) 08 Aug 2021
08 Aug 2021 06:35:22
if lundstrum is box to box then his boxes are way different to others on the pitch.

Hope jack gets back sooner then later, by far the best midfielder we have when fit and on his game.

26.) 08 Aug 2021
08 Aug 2021 07:48:02
Jack isn’t the best midfielder that’s steven Davis.

27.) 08 Aug 2021
08 Aug 2021 08:05:29
Disagree, Davis is good but he's a now player not long term imo.

I actually find myself kind of agreeing with both stormtrooper and punter on this one regarding steven davis and ryan jack 👍Both when fit and available play in our midfield for me 👍 Davis is our playmaker our orchestrator/ puppet master, whereas jacko is terrific at covering the full backs and plugging the gaps when they bomb forward 👌He's tough and gives us added bite in our midfield and we definitely function way better when jack is playing.
Jacko can also link play and can is a very good passer of the ball and had been adding some goals to his game 👍Both davis and jack would always start in the rangers midfield for me 👍 What we need to do as a club is nail down wee davo's longterm successor, young stephen kelly perhaps 🤔.

29.) 08 Aug 2021
08 Aug 2021 10:58:29
Maybe steven davis's successor will be either stephen kelly or charlie mcCann 🤔.

SG has always said as a youngster he would push his mates out the way, always wanted to play. Yet we’re are our young players. We need a long term replacement for Davis which is Kelly or another around 23-24. Patterson is our right back replacement. I thought Lundstrum would do what Jack did not play wide. Kamara, Goldson are waiting for champions league confirmation. So if don’t get there sell them with Tav and Kent. Morales is better for the squad especially his biggest flaw getting sent off has stopped. Before people rant and rant about Kent. Give Wright a go and he will be better.

Kelly will start from the bench on Tues and will make the starting lineup against Dunfermline Friday.

Lundstrum getting a lot of stick for his performance yesterday.
Which is fair enough but if you’re giving him stick then Kamara should be getting it too as he was utterly honking.
What’s saved Kamara from criticism is we know how good a player he is so before we write off Lundstrum at least give the guy a chance to settle into the team.
As for Kelly the Dunfermline game on Friday would be a perfect game to give the boy a run and see what he’s got in a competitive match.
We wouldn’t be Rangers fans unless we completely over react to dropped points but I really hope the players aren’t getting stage fright with fans being back in.
I’m putting it down to a bad day at the office which happens but I’ll be looking for more intensity on Tuesday.

My problem with Lundstrum NRD, is that we are seeing the same Lundstrum as the one that upset the Sheffield United fans second half of last season. He is lethargic, ducking out of challenges and we are not seeing any indication that this will change. From turning his back on a shot that he could have blocked to being posted missing at Dundee United's goal on Saturday and doing nothing of any merit in that game, he is not doing anything to endear himself to the support. It might be a confidence thing or perhaps it is because he is being played out of position but he needs to learn, and quickly, that Rangers needs winners, we need people that are ambitious and want to win trophies. We are not Sheffield United. Perhaps we should have gone out and bought a player with a bit more skill that can open up a defence. Unfortunately we have gone for the cheap option and on this occasion it might just back fire!
