Heard a wee story that, if SG and his backroom staff bring in a player for say 1million then develop to a superstar and sell for a profit say 10million sg and his backroom are due £100k per million would a club allow such a clause.

Doubt it very much but could believe 100k per 10 million a 1% bonus doubt we are giving away 10 percent of a players value to coaching staff.

Sounds like a celtic doomsday theory to me.

Jackie McNamara had something similar at Dun Utd and ended up getting sacked as he was exploiting the system for his own personal gain.
Haven't heard anything about this at Rangers for Gerrard.

Genuinely cannot see this being correct.

Mrp and others this is old story about two years old.
Never really revealed anything last time.

Can’t see that being true,
Like John says was an old story that came about a few years ago.

Punter
This is standard development clause. Basically there as pro per clause to ensure manager maximises club benefits and no howlers. Any manager would want to maximise his position but if he doesn't he's out on his arse. Take Morinho, he wasn't being dire just not up to Managerial Spurs standards.

It’s possible all right, probable even

All contracts are different, especially the higher you go and whatever you agree with the owners to encourage you to stay and develop talent

I could certainly see beale and co, having an agreement like this.

10% is to much tho 😂.

So does it work the other way say we buy someone for 4 million he fails and we only sell him for a fraction of the price then SG and the back room staff give rangers % back?

KJ, don't be silly

would you expect to pay your bosses if your work wasnt up to scratch

if you worked that is.

this would be a contracted deal to keep the employees at the club

not for the employees to allow the owners to stay,

Whether this true or not I don't see SG going out his way to sell any players for decent money. If it is true then it shows he has more integrity than we thought, as he certainly hasn't cashed in on anybody.

Stevie doesn’t need more cash, he has plenty and his future earnings will probably be astronomical anyway

No reply was the answer (kJ)

Rfc , 10% isn’t too much at all, if beale and co recommend a young player, get him in for 200k, coach him to first team success and rangers benefit, then down the line, sell for 12m, that’s 1.2 for them e, as 8.8 for Rangers

Win win.
