Scott wright to rangers.

Like a lot of our transfer activity this has come from nowhere. He looked lively against us and is only 23 but I can’t say I honestly no much about him certainly quick. Any thoughts on if he would be any good? An upgrade on barker and Jones?

Anyone else underwhelmed by the Scott Wright link? He’s not stood out to me when we have played them . Saying that Lewis Ferguson hasn’t either and everyone seems to think his brilliant.

I can’t even remember Scott Wrights name coming up against us . Plays for a team full of hammer throwers.

Also helps re Europe as Scottish player who went through their academy
If honest don’t know much about him, but if Sg wants him will do for me.

I heard this toward the end of last week so paid a bit more attention to him on Sunday than I usually would have. To be honest, he'd be no more than a squad player, but that's what most of us thought about Kamara when we signed him! Not much in the way of outlay so could be worth a punt.

Just came on to post this John. Obv bet me to it mate 👍 not sure that I want him tbh to me he’s another barker? I wouldn’t mind hedges? And I thought big cosgrove was brilliant against us. Great touch great control strength power pace I thought he looked a rangers player. Easy.

Seen him play against them sand thought he was sensational. Think his big problem is consistency. Maybe that can come from maturity and better coaching.

Give him a 2 minutes r deal and see if he can push on.

Would do the same with Allan Campbell as well.

Looks like it’s as good as a done deal now. Rangers told Aberdeen of their intention to sign him on a pre contract and their happy to do a deal now possibly involving a player going the other way. Possibly Stewart or barker or Jones? Maybe Edmundson on loan? I’m very underwhelmed by this move. Lacks ambition. Don’t rate him Rangers class. He seems to be another barker to me. Hopefully I’m wrong but I doubt it. Is he going to get ahead of Kai Kennedy in the summer? Pointless signing if u ask me.

IGWT, if steven gerrard and ross wilson have identified scott wright as a signing they want, that will do for me, as i trust them👍We can't/ shouldn't have a pop at potential signings before seeing what they can bring to rangers. Trust and give players the benefit and time to show us what they're about 🤔The guy isn't even in the ibrox door yet and already the knives are out! Gerrard and wilson have obviously been watching scott wright for a while, they're not just signing him on a whim 🤔.

I'd rather give our youth academy players a chance rather signing players who are fringe players at best and what better time to do it than now. I'd have 2-3 youth academy players on the beach every weekend and if we have a comfortable lead put them on.

Agree Coops. I actually don’t know much about the boy Wright although recall he was outstanding when they recently drew with Celtic at Pittodrie. By all accounts he is a good player and we can be sure that Ryan Jack has been sounded out about his potential.

I clicked agree coops as I agree with your thinking in back every player etc which I will, however he’s not upto standard IMO. Neither was barker or Stewart or Murphy. I fancied Jones but neither it seems was he. I just don’t fancy the look of him mate.

If we do want him sign a pre contract for summer n let aberdeen pay the money they owe us. Not like we need him in instantly. We can use the mcrorie monie to go for a young player elsewhere who is promising. Any thoughts guys.

I don’t know much about Scott Wright but you have to back Wilson and Gerrard as the majority of their signings have been excellent.
It’s been mentioned by the media we might try to get him in now rather than on a pre contract.
Apparently Aberdeen are still due has 350k for Ross McCrorie or a player swap.

I’d rather the £350k in the summer than taking weight just now. We don’t need him the leagues over we’re out league cup and we have a good enough squad for Europe. He’s not going to improve us I would rather the money and get him on a free.

Thing is there’s less of a risk getting players for free or a small fee who have shown ability in this league.
For every Kamara there’s a Hastie but these guys are far ahead of youth players when they have had 50 games under their belt against men in the top flight.
Every signing won’t get your attention or excited but a squad is made up of older experienced players, guys who cost a bit in their prime years, guys with potential, proven Internationals etc etc. You need a variety of them all and we have had about a 70% strike rate on Gerrards signings which is higher than most.
I watched old firm from 3 seasons ago when we lost 3-2 against 10 men and our squad is much better quality and depth wise over those 5 Windows, trust the manager he’s about to deliver 55.

IGWT, just to clarify, is it correct that the players you wish to sign for next season to fight for the title again and to lead the charge in Europe are, McLean, Ferguson, Cosgrove, Hedges, but not the one player the manager has expressed an interest in? Would that be about right?

No tavsonloyal that’s not correct. If u read my posts properly? That too difficult? Said I’d rather hedges than Wright but I wouldn’t want any of them. Said big cosgrove looked great, power pace control good touch. He’s great in the air. He could do a job IMO but I wouldn’t sign him. It was mentioned again because we were on the subject of Aberdeen players. I wouldn’t sign any. I like Ferguson as everyone is kind a skating him. I think he could definitely do a job in our squad. But not at more than £2m and we could prob get better value elsewhere. McLean is a very likely signing continually linked left footed good touch can control a game I definitely could see him coming in. So no my only signing there would be McLean and because I thought he would be free, so again price depending. I’m being realistic of what we can spend. I personally would suggest Alegria and nisbet both coming in. The boy Davies at centre half and move hellander on. Other than this 3 I don’t have any suggestions for our 1st team squad. Just so u know mate 👍 the rest have been adding to a conversation taking place.

Hedges no, Wright no. Clearly never once said what u are asking? Do t know where your getting your statement from.
