Only passing on and sharing with all on here to what i was told by a fellow shareholder.
He told me aberdeen, hibs and hearts are very interested in signing our midfielder greg docherty. I personally like doch as a midfielder and think he's been so unfortunate with how well our midfield has been playing for most of the season. He'd be a terrific signing for any of those 3 clubs.
He also told me that ross wilson rates aberdeen midfielder lewis ferguson very highly and have already set the wheels in motion about a possible swap deal with rangers signing ferguson and the sheep getting greg docherty and money as part of the deal. Time will tell guys and we'll just have to wait and see.

Imo that would be a great move Doc plus cash for Ferguson It’s a pity about Docherty had high hopes but looks like he just can’t take that final step.

I don’t know how too feel about that - I like Greg docherty and definitely feel he had a part to play for us he’s been hard done too I think he really needed a good run on the team
Feel bad for Murphy too he played well before his bad injury
Don’t understand why they brought in such players like king and polster Gerrard obviously did not rate them at all Infact there has been a few players signed that never get a game he sticks with same bunch of players - so why sign these guys and paying wages when he was never going to play them - they should have been scouted more thoroughly such a waste of money hopefully we can clear some out this window - but as I said wish docherty wasn’t one of them he really wanted to play for us and he has skills as shown previously just not a favourite of Gerrard unfortunately
Hopefully we don’t lose any key players this window.

As much as I like and support SG some things at the club seem strange. Docherty, mccrorie, Middleton all look better squad players than Ojo, poster, king. Yet this season are either on loan or not playing. I have and always will support anyone playing for us but the treatment of docherty, mccrorie, Middleton seems odd.

Yeah totally agree with you MrGrumpy!
Gerrard has his favourites - it’s like a lot work places including my own - if your face fits - unfortunately no matter how hard you work or what you do. People get looked over in favour of the people the gaffer maybe just likes better in general
Crazy though when you have potentially better player sitting getting a wage and not getting played and potentially could be putting in a shift in training and could help the team on the park.
Like you say it’s an odd one alright.

SGL I do rate young Ferguson. But where would he fit in the midfield at this moment in time, There also must be a problem with Docherty if SG would even think about selling him, Maybe someone could enlighten me re Docherty, I really hope he stays and fights for his place, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍😎.

I'd hate to see doc go to another Scottish club for purely selfish reasons. Still think he's got the potential to br a cracking player he needs something to happen soon for the sake of his career though.

and yet those face fitters have got us further than last year.

Not so sure Ferguson's would get anymore playing time than doc got. Who would he put out the midfield sgl unless someone is being sold.

Eric Blair

Don’t look on my post as negative - I’m just saying there has been a lot of players bought and not getting near the team not a lot of rotation
So why not give an opinion and tell us your take on players like docherty polster king and the host of others that were bought and not getting a game but paying there wages
We have a huge wage budget for a bunch of players not getting played lol
And going docherty in my opinion and a few others does have something to Offer the team and we’re just asking if anyone knows why he doesn’t like playing him?

Would keep Docherty and Ferguson would be no upgrade. Some players can leave in January include:

Murphy
Grezda
Pollster
King
Middleton (loan)

In June an additional group can leave including:

Fod
Alnwick
Halliday
Rossiter
Holt
Herrera.

The problem with Docherty, he's just not good enough for where this team is heading. Shame as he is a true Ger and all heart, but if we want to go to the next level he is not good enough. As for Middleton, much more potential, but he is not exactly setting the heather on fire at Hibs.

Greg docherty is a good midfielder,
but unfortunately for him ryan jack has improved tenfold under steven gerrard and been immense since gerrard became rangers manager! Jack is the next rangers captain that the majority agree with on here. He with morelos are easily the two rangers players of the year so far!

13.) 19 Dec 2019
19 Dec 2019 20:28:15
Hes not good enough. Simple as that. Said it many time. Kamara jack davis arfield mccrorie are all better players than him. Being a supporter isn't enough. Time to move on.

Good list bankie, add firth, mb Flanagan, send ojo back
Can’t see barker being good enough

Being told Kelly will take Docherty place in squad.

15.) 19 Dec 2019
19 Dec 2019 22:31:51
Doc not good enough. Mcrorie is good enough and has not been treated badly as previous poster has stayed, he's been loaned out for experience. Middleton again out for experience and time will tell if he's got it or not.

Tbh we have been very fortunate with injuries so far. That’s why Gerrard has rotated less, he rotated for the cup games in earlier rounds and the Europa early rounds and obv friendlies.
He has to ensure the squad has better quality of cover if main 14-16 he uses get injuries.

You also have to be loyal to the players who have got us great results for the majority of the season, it might seem like favs from outside looking in but I think he’s done well with his rotating of the squad.

Docherty for me isn’t good enough, he reminds me of Rossiter they both have good ability but I think Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs is about their level regardless of how much I rate both for the graft they put in and their professionalism off the park.
Lewis I feel is a better player, he’s strong, good in the air, likes a tackle and scores his fair share of goals I think he could give Aribo and King a run for their money and would get more game time than King or Docherty have.

I mentioned this last week. We have a squad so why not utilize it? Davis is injured. Not saying that's why but he's 34. he's not got the legs to play week in week out.
Your not telling me that Doc, King etc can't come in to the team and do well. Even against your lower table teams. Got to remember we are still in Europe. I think freshening the team is an option. Look at Goldson for example. Undroppable. he's not exactly Barasi!

18.) 20 Dec 2019
19 Dec 2019 23:47:39
I honestly wouldn't say ross mccrorie is any better than greg docherty mate and that's just my honest opinion.

19.) 20 Dec 2019
20 Dec 2019 00:05:30
Doc will go back down south, SG advised him to go on loan at start of season and he stated he wanted to stay and try and play his way into the team, that hasn’t happened and he will be offski in Jan. There are a few teams down south willing to take a punt on him.

20.) 20 Dec 2019
20 Dec 2019 08:47:45
Imo Ross McCrorie isint good enough for the first team. People will disagree but that's my opinion. I know SG rates him.

21.) 20 Dec 2019
20 Dec 2019 11:27:44
Ferguson is a better option than Doc. Would be very surprised if a deal could be made with them.

22.) 20 Dec 2019
20 Dec 2019 12:21:54
Simple as this Greg docherty is obviously a good midfielder, he can pick the ball up and drive at opponents, he's not shy at taking a shot or putting in a tackle. However his skillset doesn't suit us. We need intelligent midfielders, with a great passing range. Lewis Ferguson would be a good fit for us imo.

23.) 20 Dec 2019

Won’t happen.

24.) 20 Dec 2019

Neither Doc or Fergie would get the game time that they both require. Can’t see this happening.

25.) 23 Dec 2019

Really like GD, but if he wants to develop he needs to go

100% wouldn't deal with those clubs though.

Re all of the above.

King - was a low risk punt on loan just can’t get near the team as Kamara, Jack, Davis, Arfield and Aribo all ahead of him.

Polster - very highly thought of in the MLS, just same problem as above, can’t get in ahead of those guys or Tav at RB.

Docherty - just isn’t good enough sadly. Ferguson is 2 or 3 years younger and probably a better player already. Swap deal plus cash seems fair.

McRorie - I still think he will be a future Rangers captain.

Middleton - one trick pony sadly.
