We were all hoping for new signings and a striker, I hope this is not going to turn into Butland leaving, the first name on the team sheet, the real leader.
No sign of these signings coming in, just videos released with Diomande who we know we have. To me it’s a complete failure if we don’t get a striker- the one position that everyone said we need a player for.
This is a timely reminder that this window could turn out bad, just when I thought it was getting good. Honestly I just want the Butland leaving stuff to stop ✋ but I have a feeling we are going to get tested with a better bid or why would Notts Forest try? Butland is class but no chance he dislodges Pickford as England #1. Nick Pope couldn't when finishing top 4, Aaron Ramsdale (despite seemingly having the feetwork southagte likes) couldn't whwn coming 2nd and no way jack does it playing for us or Nottingham Forrest or any other English team.

Butland does NOT have a £5m release clause. If he wanted protection to be able to leave he would have signed a short term deal or went elsewhere when he was out of contract.
Butland has had a run of games for 1st time in a long time due to injury and back up status. He is now enjoying playing every week again and is playing in Europe for a change and challenging for titles and is adored by fans.
He is so far out the picture at England that he wouldn’t increase his changes much by going back down south tbh
